September 20, 201510 yr I have to admit I didn't expect what I have seen this week - fitness, determination and most importantly hunger for the win. It is a very stark contrast to the games against Everton and Palace and needless to say the win against Arsenal was well deserved. Fabregas had two assists and a goal this week and Hazard was very good as well, which is better news for everyone else than for him. Now IF(!) they can carry on like this for a considerable amount of time then maybe - maybe - there will be some hope several months down the line. But for now top 4 remains the only realistic target. Heads down and work like they did this week. No heads in he clouds, please.
September 20, 201510 yr Curious how Wenger didn't mention the fact that Gabriel clearly fouled Hazard in the box and we should have gotten a penalty long before Dean started handing out reds. Costa's behaviour is questionable (I personally don't like it), but on the whole justice caught up with Gabriel and Arsenal who fully deserved to lose this game. Chelsea were clearly better. Funny how a week ago I would have never thought I'd be able to say this right now.
September 20, 201510 yr Why does it matter? Well you claimed to know more about maths than the people on here and I'm sure those with mathematical degrees would like to know if you can back up that statement. and Surely with you vast knowledge of mathematics you'd know that when making sweeping statements to large audiences there is a possibility that you will be out done by someone. There is also the old 'the more you know about something the more you realise that you don't know about that something', (more questions will always arise), so I'm sure you wouldn't be so arrogant in your superiority if you had done extensive or further studies of mathematics. I obviously don't know this as you could as far as I know be a mathematical savant with a narrowed grasp of how to conduct yourself around others in an online conversation/debate but usually you only need to look for the most simple explanation (ockham's razor). In this case I'd hypothesise that you are a WUM that likes or even needs to make himself feel more important and superior to others. Sorry the response is so late coming I haven't been by a computer for the last couple of days.
September 20, 201510 yr Curious how Wenger didn't mention the fact that Gabriel clearly fouled Hazard in the box and we should have gotten a penalty long before Dean started handing out reds. I don't find that curious at all. We're all fully aware that Wenger has the vision of a bat when it comes to these things. What is curious is how he suddenly has hawk-like vision when it comes to Mr Costa.. And you can be damn sure if we lost and complained like they have that we would be called bitter losers, our player was naive for reacting etc etc. Oh well, always the villains, no-one likes us, Premier League champions...
September 26, 201510 yr Well...we're still 8 points off the top, like we were last week...I guess that's something...
September 26, 201510 yr Hahah. It was so obvious that Chelsea was gonna bottle today after the defeat of Manchester City. We f**king always fails to seize the opportunity. Title is long lost now. f**k it. It would have been a golden chance to resurrect our title defense had we won this... But meh typical Chelsea that.
September 26, 201510 yr 8 points from 7 games. -3 goal difference 2nd worst defence in the league It's not exactly looking good. If we are still languishing near the bottom in a month's time, i think he'll be gone
September 26, 201510 yr To be honest, I'd prefer us to win both cups and try to go as far as we can in CL.
September 26, 201510 yr Not worried about Utd, City were expected to win today and a point at st james's is good what with our record there. We'll be top 4 at least. I'm not panicking yet
September 26, 201510 yr Well, not to put a downer, but there's two other class managers available. Klopp and Ancelotti. I would stick with Mourinho personally, I think he's the man for Chelsea. However, I'm sure Roman will be tempted if this continue much longer.
September 26, 201510 yr We can, if 5/6 of our players simultaneously magically regain the form of the first few months of last season. It would take something like an 8/9 game winning streak to get back into contention. But to be brutally realistic, this is pretty unlikely to happen. We're almost a 1/4 of the way into the season now and look so vulnerable.
September 26, 201510 yr We've started absolutely dreadfully yes, but I still have faith and every fan has their opinion but I would not swap Mourinho for anyone
September 26, 201510 yr Title is probably out of reach unless some serious bottling goes on. This is our time to make up some ground and go on a run. Soton Villa WHU away Scousers Stoke away Norwich All of those are winnable. Full points from that or even 15 and we'll be in great shape. Watford, Leicester, sunderland and Bournemouth after Spurs should bring in a healthy amount as well. Lets f*cking do it Edited September 26, 201510 yr by TheChelseaBlues
September 26, 201510 yr for a couple of hours i thought 'yes', and then perez and co proved the answer to be 'no'
September 26, 201510 yr It's still possible for Chelsea to win the league Despite the average start However you still need to perform more consistently You have the players but the concern is that Terry has now gone, Cahill looks less confident without him and Zouma is still learning I'd say it's still very much open after only 7 games but you can't keep dropping points All very obvious to be fair
September 26, 201510 yr We can, but not playing like this and we will have to go on a long unbeaten run...we have the players, we know that, but they have to want it...I'm not sure many of them want it enough at the moment
September 27, 201510 yr Unless others continue to slip up like we have been, then no, i don't think we have a chance of winning. Right now all i care about is us getting out of this slump we are in. I really think Mourinho needs to change the system and a few players. It won't improve if he doesn't try and change things. We also need a better start to games, i'm tired of seeing our players jog around the pitch waiting to see what happens in the first half, it's like we are just expecting to show up and win. Start games quicker, swap a few players, change the style of how we play and then we will see where we are at Christmas. EDIT: I would also like us to stop messing around when we get to the oppositions penalty area, all of this passing the ball through the tightest of gaps is not working and we are just wasting chances when we do that. Create chances quicker. Edited September 27, 201510 yr by Scott Harris
September 27, 201510 yr mathematically yes, but with the team mentality going right now hell no it's proven that some of the players don't want another PL medal by the way they play so far
September 27, 201510 yr I'm under no illusions. We won't win the league this year. Champions League spot it is. Even that seems a difficult ask in this run of form.
September 27, 201510 yr It was interesting in commentary that they were saying that compared to the results we achieved in the same games last year, we are only 5 points down on what we got. if we beat southampton that takes us to just 3 behind the total we got from these games last year. if we can get in good form then we could finish with a similar points total to last year.
