How big is the map? Can new players to the series jump straight in?

I'm not sure if it's as big as Skyrim's for example, but the towns and landmarks are so dense.

Yeah there is no level cap, whether you actually sink enough hours in to the game to fully level up is another question.

So last night was a bad idea. Clicking start up at 12, my plan was a quick half hour then bed. So, did the intro stuff, character creation, wandered the vault, got out and saved. Right, bed, it's 1ish so I'm ok, won't be too knackered tomorrow. Little girl was up coughing and puking all night so I got about 10 minutes sleep ha ha, great timing. Not gonna stop me playing until 1 tonight though.

Probably going to be Friday before I get this. On the the plus side, the missus is away til next Wednesday, so I won't have any...distractions!

You can't beat ShopTo for pre orders. Got fallout yesterday, got Fifa 14 or 15 two days early and got Red dead early too.

 

They are the absolute bollocks. 

Im waiting on Amazon too, I had to order from a North American seller as the Japanese one isnt out for another month... all of the frustration

Will Game have any copies in store?

 

They do. Trading in Ryse, Wolfenstein, Dying Light and Shadow of Mordor for £51 store credit to buy it. I messaged them to see if they'd beat CEX by £1, using a screenshot, and they do. Definitely worth it as it's about £15 more than what the Game website is quoting.

To say it's the most anticipated game in years would be an understatement for mine, may also prove to be a burden for the game.

Essentially the game/controls are the same as Skyrim but in an entirely different setting.  I'm very biased towards Bethesda games so can't give you an honest opinion of where they sit compared to other open worlds... but if you liked Skyrim you'll love Fallout.

GTA V was the most anticipated. Went to game to buy that when it came out, the queue was ridiculous, everyone buying it.

I'd agree with Zeta there. GTA V was huge, and I and so many others booked time off work to play it.

Yeah Fallout 4 is massive in the gaming community and the most anticipated since GTA V, but GTA V was everywhere. Everyone seemed to be talking about it, not just gamers.

Oh no doubting GTA is a much bigger franchise, i just think Fallout offers something entirely different than any other game, it has more substance.  So for me and other gamers I know, the build up and the anticipation for Fallout and the decisions you will have to make, the options you will have in the game, the world and it's capabilities/look/feel have been mammoth.

Where as, and granted GTA was hugely talked about from all people, I don't think many of those people gave it as much in depth thought as to how they were going to play it.. they just wanted to play it.

Love both, just more pumped for this.

I hope not. Hoping to get it from Game today and I haven't! I've certainly heard you don't need to.

Really interested to hear what Fallout 4 is like once you guys get stuck in. I played Fallout 3 a lot and absolutely loved it, sadly I don't have a PC any more nor am I into PC games enough any more. I have a German Shepherd as well so really like the addition of the dog too!

Kinda came out of nowhere, game was announced on June 3rd and came out 5 months later. Refreshing change from games announced that take over a year or even 2 years to actually come out
