If we do not feel he is good enough for a new deal, why is he still starting every game? Yet Cahill, now 3rd choice, gets a new deal. Brana, who has been garbage until the past 3 or so weeks, got a new deal.

I'm going to say it, I really do not wish to offend, JT is a Londoner. I don't wish to detract from anyone else, merely highlight the man's legacy and route through the club he loves.

Only reason Ivanovic is VC is because he is the second longest serving player.

From first team regular, playing every minute of the season last year, to out on his ear next season. Im 100% sure he would have and could have contributed as a rotation option. His influence is FAR more than just his ability on the pitch, there is NO WAY he should be allowed to leave the club and play for any other team.

 

I understand if the team want to bring in the right players for the future and mould the team in a different image but it feels like throwing the Baby out with the bath water. Just hope that we can actually tempt Stones to come to a club without CL football next season, especially as we arent the only one looking at him. If not Emenalo is going to look foolish with Miazga and Djiloboji as our only backups to Cahill and Zouma next year.

With no Champions League? Can't see it happening to be honest.

United spent loads without champions league football. I think we will spend alot too, it will be tougher to attract players but I think the money will be made available.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the next manager, its obvious jt has huge influence and sometimes a manager dislikes that. Clear the decks sort of thing.

When we bought in Benitez i didn't think we could go any lower........well, this is much lower. I don't think i can forgive them for this to be honest.

 

Terry has been part of Chelsea as long as i have been a fan, to see him being waved off like this is not something i think i can ever get over.

Wonder if there's any chance of a U turn like the late Lamps contract offer, though this announcement seems tough to go back on.

This means Ivanovic will play nearly every game next season since he's next in line as captain

This decision had to come at some point, but timing is bizarre to say the least. There is already so much hurt among some of the fans (if not majority) about the JM situation, that you really don't need to do this now. He still wants to play; let him! He has shown absolutely NO signs of losing form, and this in a season where players have been dropping like flies all around him. 

 

It shows the top at this club really has little clue what is going on. Even if they deemed it to be a good business decision, you at least wait until the end of the season. We're in our worst league position in years ... you need players like Terry to keep things together!
