February 1, 201610 yr David Squires' latest cartoon. Vicious but funny http://www.theguardian.com/football/picture/2016/feb/01/david-squires-on-john-terry-leaving-chelsea
February 1, 201610 yr Im starting to come round to this way of thinking. At first i was appalled and there were stories doing the rounds of him not being told face to face etc (which i bought into) but it turns out negotiations are still on the table so im not sure what JT is playing at to be honest. He prob shouldnt have let it go to some journos yesterday to be honest. He is our most decorated player and that demands he is treated with total respect but its got to be a two way street. We dont do things easy, thats for sure. We should have offered him a contract then, I'd be curious as well after our worst player his season just signed an extension a week or so agsin. Our club is terrible at handling these things, if he hadn't done this he'd slide out the door the same way Lamps & Cole did with no mention until he was gone. The only legend we treated with respect was Cech. I'm glad he's pressurising the club, it's shameful he's even had to. There's certain players that you let retire at the club, unless of course they're looking for Rooney type money as their role at the club reduces. Look at United & Giggs, that should have been us with Terry & Lamps, no excuses. I have no doubt they'd both have loved to finish their careers with us.
February 1, 201610 yr lots of people already jumping onto the sentimental bandwagon.. The club can only be condemned if they didn't offer a new deal to JT but offered to BI a couple of weeks ago.. still no further update from the club, we should wait to hear the story from both sides..
February 1, 201610 yr And also wait for the story to actually be true. In the same way it would be silly to invest a lot of money in new players without having a permanent manager, wouldn't it also be silly to extend a 35 year old's contract without knowing if the new manager wants him around?
February 1, 201610 yr David Squires' latest cartoon. Vicious but funny http://www.theguardian.com/football/picture/2016/feb/01/david-squires-on-john-terry-leaving-chelsea Harsh from the big lad, but started off a bit more innocently! It is going to be a crowd pleaser though...
February 1, 201610 yr Harsh from the big lad, but started off a bit more innocently! It is going to be a crowd pleaser though... It is. The BTL comments love it. The bit about him unveiling himself as the new Chelsea manager and thus being able to stay ...
February 1, 201610 yr Yes I agree we need the club to make a statement. They owe it to us the fans. And the person at the club who should be making the statement is the CEO herself Madam Marina Granovskai because she is the main broad decision maker in charge of the purse strings, not her puppet and her spy ....Mr Michael Emanalo. The only person that can over rule her us Roman himself. My guess is that our wonderful she who should be obeyed, Madam CEO who IMO no doubt enjoys playing power games in the transfer market with CFC money, sure knows what's she's doing ?! LOL and decided that she didn't like the tone of JT's agent and thought it was too early to consider giving him an extension, as he's 35 ( age discrimination case is possible there !) wanted to show him that she is the boss and she will decide when she's good and ready by making JT sweat For the next few months. Thinking that It's not as if JT is short of a bob or two. LOL - But they forgot to take into account his pride and determination not to be messed about with. We all know (with the obvious exception of Madam MG) that JT is not the type of person whose gonna be messed around with and he definitely deserves to be given special treatment by the suits at CFC So here we are again with our club PR in another self created media circus of a mess. Madam Marina Granovskai needs to be more accountable and think about the consequences before she makes decisions or say anything to players agents, especially our Capitan, Leader and Legend's agent. However sadly she seems untouchable and can do what she wants, because she is a close friend of Roman. It is up to Roman to over rule her and offer JT an extension to his contract including a coaching role in the Academy, as I understand JT is doing his badges. Roman needs to say something but I guess he will leave it to Guus or Madams puppet
February 1, 201610 yr Tbh reading Chelsea's reply to JTs bombshell, it does seem JT is trying to force an issue the club hasn't exactly said no to, if this is JT playing politics, could smack of holding the club to ransom again, ala the Man city saga, so a waiting game of a few months might evolve, would like to know our next manager now please.....
February 1, 201610 yr Yep your right there Ballack. If my memory serves me right there was a massive protest by the Chelsea fans back in the day when Roy Bentley was told he wasn't wanted by CFC any longer. The vintage guys On this website probably have some archive photographs of some paint being daubed on the gates of Stamford bridge.
February 1, 201610 yr Money is the root of the problem, that's why a lot of my generation are going to watch their local non league team with no ego's and are becoming pi**ed off with paying high ticket prices to watch multi millionaires play when it suits them, with the exception of JT who has always given his all for our club and country. But the likes of fabregas who shys away from making a tackle pi** me off. The club is being run by Madam MG not Michael Emanalo, he is a spineless puppet and only says what she tells him to say.

That is bang on, my mate a 25 yr Man u season ticket holder, suddenly had enough, and now just follows FCUM, manu without the politics, niiiiice
February 1, 201610 yr to be fair, we have offered terry a one year contract for 5 years running now. what kind of salary is he looking for per season is another issue, because at 35 going on 36 and with his physical capabilities inevitably diminishing year by year, should be still be offered big wages by the club?
February 1, 201610 yr He should be offered a 1 year extension at wages to be negotiated, simples ......but when does common sense come into it, when you've got the massive big egos of our CEO Madam MG and the agents of JT battling each other
February 1, 201610 yr JT does not need the money, however his agent is obviously greedy for his % commission that's the problem
February 1, 201610 yr JT does not need the money, however his agent is obviously greedy for his % commission that's the problemMate relax, your level of assumption is God-tier.
February 1, 201610 yr Wont this come down to whoever comes in as manager. If he wants him surely the board will have to give him a contract???
February 1, 201610 yr Some interesting points here. So, if the new manager doesn't want to keep JT it will be an uncomfortable start for Mr new manager and a luke warm welcome at best.
February 1, 201610 yr Now we're getting trolled by Heathrow airport, becaue just being a useful Twitter account for passengers isn't enough, what the hell is wrong with people.
February 1, 201610 yr You can imagine with the timing of Terry's comments, the club has had a very busy day, I'd imagine quite a few clubs will be ringing up to see if they can pry Terry away 6 months early. It's almost as if Terry and his agent and trying to show the club something.
February 1, 201610 yr Now we're getting trolled by Heathrow airport, becaue just being a useful Twitter account for passengers isn't enough, what the hell is wrong with people. Another bitter bitter gooner got loose on a keyboard again.
February 1, 201610 yr Two possible reasons for all this. The club has been lackadaisical on renewing his contract, but intend on offering him an extension once the new gaffer is sorted. The new gaffer has been contacted, and he does'nt want JT, because he's bringing in his own captain. In that case he lost the supporters before he was even appointed... Are we bringing FSW or DVD back?
February 1, 201610 yr I don't think it is "professional" for him to come and say after a game that the club was not renewing him. Don't get me wrong, he has been a great player for the club but that right there is showing the class he has. Telling us, the fans, that Chelsea is not renewing him so we can whine about it? Grow a pair and go to another club, no one is bigger than the club. Time to move on... Next on line Ivanovic, Fabregas (Arsenal game means sh*t), Mikel (I think is pleasing the woman CEO on the sidelines).
February 1, 201610 yr Shocked and thought the big man would have got another season. And he would have fully deserved it.
