Everton v Chelsea FA Cup

Featured Replies

lol what a f**ked up season.  Future looks funny at the moment I think its time to play as many youth players as possible not one player cares about the club besides jt and he could be gone so us fans don't have much of a connection with the players anymore which hurts.  Personally I'll always follow us no matter what but it pisses me off the money the players are on breaks my heart.  A draw would have been a fair result tonight but we got out done by a young and eager centre forward which we should have kept and make him feel wanted, yes I threw he's toys out off the pram after missing the peno against Bayern and had a sulk but we should have tried a bit more to keep him jose didn't want him for what ever reason none of us really know.  sh*t season very much an emotionally rollercoaster.  Please Gus play the youth from now on in.

Anyone who watched that match and thinks that it was decided purely on Lukaku's sale....I'm envious.

That just means we don't have to sell a young Belgian striker again. That's easy to do.

Thank heavens we don't have to do something difficult like examine the whole way we play football, how we develop youngsters, our transfer policy and the way we treat coaches of this club. That would be more than a weekend's work and with the sun coming out there's decking to stain.

Not one single person has said it's completely down to Lukaku being sold.

Lukaku being sold represents the pinnacle of an absolute clusterf**k of missmanagment that is the reason we are in the situation we are in (IMO at least). When that same player scores the goals that finally ends our worst season in 20 years you cannot complain that people are going to vent their frustrations.

Chin up lad!

I'd chin up had this been fair, see PSG posts, but tonight has been a disrespectful performance from the ref and Everton players. They were not better and the ref influenced the game with his bias. We haven't played well, and we need to change many things for bpnext season, but today it was a joke from the BBC commentators to the refereeing. Sorry to say this, we should have done a City tonight.

i think the frustration on this thread about Lukaku is that letting him go is just one example of our failure to bring on youth.

it's a tough one because Abramovich has demanded success season in and season out so allowing young players time to develop and bed in isn't something we've been able to do. but our squad is nothing like it was 6 or 7 years ago our signings appear to have been influenced by the idea that small and nimble players will have us playing like Barcelona and over recent years the team has lacked balance, pace, physicality and ruthlessness in front of goal. hopefully our next manager will be allowed time to build a team that has all the necessary characteristics for success in 2017 and won't be forced to just tinker with a group of players whose preferred style of play is a poor version of Spanish football from 2007.

We were that average today that the usual Everton late collapse never looked like happening. f**king Hell, everyone scores late goals against that lot.

Anyone who still thinks this team just needs a few tweaks and not wholesale changes after watching that today?

I see we are blaming Mourinho, the referee, Everton style of play etc.

Reality is today we are a mediocre team with overpaid players that ( with a few exceptions ) have no heart, spirit. quality and desire to play for Chelsea anymore. To call half of our team professional athletes is an insult to the concept.

A radical change has to happen at all levels at our club and a new Chelsea project will have to be put in place. This project hopefully won't include Emenalo being our director of football and players like Ivanovic, Cahil, Matic, Mikel, Oscar and Hazard pretending to have the quality or / and desire to play for Chelsea.

Come on.

You sound like a Kopite.

You were soundly beaten. The referee was fine. Everton players were fine. Everton players were better. The BBC commentators were fine. You don't want to believe any of this, but it's true.

Even if it weren't true, it would be just retribution for the grossly unfair 3-3 earlier in the season.

You've had a bad season. So have we. But move on and stop blaming that which you cannot justly blame.

I haven't seen it but if Costa did bite then he did then he can f**k right off, we can't have double standards regarding Suarez.

It was more like a very brief attempt at a raspberry

This season is pure misery and quite embarrassing - expect 2 more months of the same. Please please please let there be 10-15 different players in the first team next season. I know there won't be, but this club needs a purging!

Agree with this, needs a unbelievable purging as most of out current 1st team is utter garbage and wouldn't even make the reserves of some of the top clubs in football right now

Grossly unfair? What because we had an offside goal go in our favour for once? Yeah you never see those things happening up and down the country every week.

If you watch the game I don't know how you can say the ref was fine though, it would have been nice if we could have been equally as physical without the ref jumping in. And you certainly can't say the commentators were fine, that's not even a criticism of everton but of a bitter gooner dick. I'd wager there's a few occasions each year you have the same complaints.

Enjoy the win, please don't let arsenal win the cup.

i've watched the Costa incident a few times and I don't think he bites him, it doesn't at all look as though he used his teeth. there's no reaction from Barry either who actually looks a bit guilty about getting Costa sent off.

storm in a tea-cup

After some pushing together of foreheads, Costa seemed to open his mouth wide against the side of Barry's neck. He didn't seem to close his mouth to a bite and he broke contact quickly. Barry didn't seem to react to that particular thing but Costa seemed almost to be trying to get sent off. It was hard to fathom.
