Maybe. If that happens it will be around the close of the transfer window when we have not added to our squad. 

Personally I think the sack is still more likely. Probably before the end of year.

If he has behaved the way is being reported then he deserves his share of the flak for the the current situation. Klopp and Poch have been "screwed over" by their clubs board aswell but you don't see them going around behaving like school kids.

Given Levy's strict penny penching second is an achievement for Spurs, if we finished 2nd with 86 point's in the Zola/RDM era, finished above Arsenal and Liverpool and only lost the league due to United getting 93 points, we would have given our manager the freedom of Kings Road.

I don't understand how you can blame Conte for Cahill's absolute brainfart? Making us look as amateurs? We scored 2 goals being a man down for nearly the entire match.

Conte expected to be rewarded for making it with last year's squad. Instead, he is getting even less. His aim is to win the CL and league. If the board has changed their objective to top 4 like Levy, I am fine but Conte will not be. There are various big clubs who will just be dying to meet his "demands".

It must be infuriating for Conte to have the deal with our board/Roman. You just cannot sell one of our best midfielders to a direct rival, and that while we have no replacement lined up for him even. Have a look at this:

Chelsea: Kante, Cesc*, Baka**
ManUtd: Carrick, Pereira, Herrera, Fellaini, Pogba, Matic
ManCity: Gundogan, De Bruyne, Delph, Fernandinho, Yaya Toure, Silva
Tottenham: Dembele, Dier, Wanyama, Eriksen, Harry Winks, Sissoko

*Is not suitable to a midfield two. The system the manager use.
** Injured, did not parttake in pre-season and are miles off match-fitness having not played since may.

Now look at that, how can you even expect us to challenge for the league or CL-title with a midfield like that? It's not thin, its deathbed-thin.

Slightly different when neither of those teams are expected to win the league or put up a defence of it. Mainly because they haven't won it in f**king ages. We're expected to battle for it.

We've done well in th transfer market? Have we yeah? By selling or loaning every squad player we own & leaving us with 17 year olds filling our bench, aye good one.

If Conte is 'unhappy' as some people say, there could be a host of reasons, including personal ones. We forget that these people are human beings and life isn't on a straight line. We've seen it with Crespo and others where it was non football issues meant they didn't stay at Chelsea. Having said that I hope he is here for many years.

Get a good manager, win some trophies, wait for things to take a turn for the worse, sack said manager, bring in Uncle Guus to steady the ship and then find someone who can seem better than your previous managers for a year or two, then repeat.

 

You can be annoyed about it but you cannot say it has not proved successful.

In the first half we looked like idiot's, 10 men or not Burnley should not be wiping the floor with us at Stamford Bridge. The second half fight back was brilliant but the damage was already done. If we lose tp Spurs or even Everton we could excuse Conte under the circumstances but never should we ever find lose at home to Burnley.

He hasn't got all his targets but he also got 3 player's he really wanted 2 of which have potential to break the world class ceiling, it's not like we are shopping in the ten pound restaurant is it? Surely that earnt the heirachy the benefit of the doubt until the window was slamed shut? If not then complain but he could have just got on with thing's won both the home games, maybe even picked up a points at Spurs and that could feesible be 7 point's with a new wingback and CM arriving and thing's looking decent. But now we got beat in a banker, will 90% lose to Spurs which crank's up the pressure big time vs Everton.

Haha what unnecessary problems? The problems are staring everyone in the face.

We literally cannot accumulate fouls or injuries in the first month of the season.

It would be slightly fair if the Refs were consistent but most Ref nowadays will award 50/50s against us and will card us at every slightly poor challenge and in some cases without a warning while giving 2-3 warnings to another team on a different day before taking out a card. 

We have 1 available top class midfielder against a high pressing team next week and we play a counterattacking style which means more work for those at the center of the pitch.

As of now we have depth in defence only while our midfield is nonexistant and half of our attack needs playmakers to function.

I agree that the squad lost their heads in the 1st half what with the captain being dismissed early on and most of our senior players got too heated about it. Conte could have also immediately tweaked the gameplan better but we're seeing that in hindsight so Conte deserves criticism for it but he shouldn't be blamed entirely on it.

imo the board isn't to blame for not being able to bring people in. It's to blame for too many people going out without bringing in replacements first. Our first 3 signings are so far ok but 3 in with more than 3 out shouldn't be happening at all seeing that we haven't properly replace the likes of Mikel, Brana, JT and Oscar much less Matic and the rest of last season's subs

Pretty fair assessment, can't argue with that.

The guy is trying to make headlines and get a reaction. How can the number of players gone, plus Mikel Ivanovic oscar during last season and the four signings which includes a goalkeeper coming in balance. We are down players and have champions league games and league cup soon. Sep and oct we could play every 3-4 days No chance at the moment, with Hazard Bakayoko Pedro back will ease but lost Cesc for 1 game Cahill for 3. If league cup game was next week selection would've been very interesting.  When Jose was here and happy his squad was always two players for each position and most of the time he kept everyone happy.  

Just thought saw nothing mentioned in yesterday's programme about Remy being injured, not been loaned but couldn't beat kids to one of the seven places on the bench. Obviously not good enough in Conte's eyes. I really hope Antonio stays it's about time we have some stability in the managers role and maybe the transfer policy might lean towards the manager having more input. At least get sacked for picking the players rather than falling for someone else's decision.

I read a quote from Gullit who said he'd spoken to Conte around March time and he had already named players he was interested in for this term. Apparently these names were pretty ambitious and of the names discussed only one is currently at the club. (Morata) 

 

Sorry I can't remember the source to look it up, but I'm just saying what I read and if that is the case it's disappointing we've only brought in one player he asked for.

My thoughts are very similar, you have to take all that on board then add to it this is the second league winning manager they have done it too, why do you think the fans were cheering him when we are losing they are saying we are behind the manager and he is tight to have the hump with the board 

Here's the thing we are apparently looking for a long term manager, is that how they plan on keeping a man like conte, making an arse of him after he wins the title, look what they left him with for the start of the season it's embarrassing.

They could have given him a couple of years support with players then said look we have to pull back as stadium being built etc but given him a core of young players that would last for the next 5 years.

 When you build a young team you don't need to keep spending we did that in our 3 acquisitions they are all young, if we got 2 wing backs one young one experienced and CM cover we wouldt need to spend big for a few years just a player here and there.

Instead of sacking the managers we should sack who's making the ridiculous decisions to not go out and go on a spending spree after we win the title. It happened the last two times, the third time we've done it again, we might have spent big on two players but we've balanced the books still. Is that really a good thing? If we aren't upgrading, we seem to be like Arsenal. 

So far we have the 2nd best net spend out of the top 6, below Spurs. That's -12 million, and we are still yet to sell Diego Costa. Morata I highly rate, I think he'll be an upgrade on Diego Costa, Boko I don't think is an upgrade on Matic & nobody replaces Terry easily. 

I'm sorry to come across grim as a new poster but I can't help but vent my concerns on here because I am deeply worried about the way this club is going in the long term, is this our purpose? Sack a manager, next one wins a trophy, sack him the next season when he underperforms? City has spent 200 million when they already had a very good squad, United the same, why aren't we willing to be up there with the Manchesters who are hoping to monopolise the PL?
