If the board are refusing to sign 30 years old players then I'm fully with the board here. It makes much more sense to buy a 23 years old player for 30m then a 32 years old player. Unfortunately I'm beginning to go off Conte abit, he seems so stubborn about his ways and i think he need to lighten up abit and negotiate with the board about targets rather than having the my targets or the highway attitude. I just get the impression Conte is being awkward about the whole situation rather than the board. I'm fearing this could come to an ugly ending. First off Candreva is not a WB, don`t know who told you he is a WB. Conte first choices was Walker, Conte himself said he want him and the board send offer, but it was too late, too little, cause City was 99% done with the transfer. And why you all try to twist the facts how you want it ? Conte also wanted Danilo, and that is not a speculation, like Candreva one, the player himself said it. The board again was too slow, and was trying to low biding again ... And City salary was probably higher then what we was offereing to him. And the first choice for left back was always - Sandro. Then we wanted Mendy, again too late. You can clearly see that the board not taking Conte first choices and wishes seriously. And you have to be mad to say Conte not adapting fast and can`t change tactics fast. We done it so often and was trying to change different things and aproach. When the match not working, we often change the whole system. Also he switched very fast to 3-4-3 and win us the title. The people here are very fast to forget. I don`t get how some people we so naive. How exactly everytime we have bad result, there is only one man to blame and that is always the manager? When we face this situation for third time and its so obvious that the board is to blame and they fuc*** hard. Conte last season destroy the competition, broke so many records in HIS F***** FIRST Year in England ... Even if he finish 10, all the fans should pray and want him to stay. The guy that took 10 place finish team and make him Champions, suddenly not change tactics fast enough, suddenly is choosing the wrong players and it`s not good enough anymore .... But once again i see this coming. I say it many times, iit won`t take long, when some so "called" fans will turn thei back and start bul...s.... on Conte. With suchpolitics we won`t be a top team for long period and that`s not good for long term success. The only time we won something, was when we have top manager arround, except Di Mateo. And we sacked this top manager, now we are not spending big and i don`t see who will put his hands on the table to come to us. It won`t be a top manager for sure. And they are not many arround. Not to mention the competition is a lot higher now, then before and it will be very, very hard for someone to achieve anything in just 1 year. You can ask Guardiola and Mou about that, even when they spend very big. So i see it this way, changing manager year after year and winning close to nothing. And to be a top manager and to be the man in charge in such dressroom like Chelsea, you need to act like Conte. Ferguson was exactly the same. Conte was the right man for the job, for long term period, that we could have won a lot of trophies and take the club to next level, but the board destroy it all. Whatever you see, whatever you think, there isn`t anyone better then Conte in the market.
August 15, 20178 yr Strider6003, yeah for sure, it`s surely achievable with a 13 men squad .... Why not ? Next year we can try it with 12 men.

It's going to be the toughest season yet given how other clubs have spent and our board have managed to weaken a title winning side.
August 15, 20178 yr While I do think there were some disagreements between Conte and the board on some of the clubs transfer policy this summer, I honestly think the media is making this seem bigger than it is. They want a "clickbaity" headline so the narrative of Conte being on verge quitting or being sacked because he didn't get what he wanted or because he is at odds at odds with the board is what is going to give them clicks and sales. It's funny how these stories continue while Conte hasn't said anything negative about the board and the fact that he said "they are trying their best" has been swept under the rug. He hasn't thrown any tantrums or whatsoever and yet the media continue to create this narrative. Should chelsea beat spurs and pick up more points after that, watch all these stories disappear. Disagreements happen in workplaces all the time and several other managers in the league haven't got everything they wanted in the transfer window completely. However, the media is making it seem as if Chelsea is the first club in history where the manager hasn't got everything he wanted. Football has changed over the years from the manager having complete control to the board having a say in things. Arsenal is really the only club in the league where the manager runs the whole show and it isn't working out quite well for them. My main point is that we need not get carried away by what the media is saying about Conte or the board. This same media last year said Conte was getting the boot after the 3-0 loss and we know how that ended.

I think it is, we have the core squad from last season and I don't see Pedro having to fill in a WB this season and also Morata looks like he will work the whole season unlike senor Costa. Spurs currently look weaker and the Wembley factor. JM looks stronger yet still think we have the edge as he has no decent crossers of the ball and a weakness at left back. City look stronger yet I don't think they will gel as quickly as what Conte's side will, Conte's strength is drilling his players in his system and I think he is the best at this. I see 3-4 additions before the window is closes for us.
August 15, 20178 yr United and City right now are 2 classes above us. You have to be blind to not see this. They have very quality players even on the bench, we have zero there. We even lack qualities in the starting 11.
August 15, 20178 yr Got feeling that brakeit is either Antonio Conte or some kind of relative to him........(only jesting with you brakeit )
August 15, 20178 yr Hahaha, no problem. I just want this s*** with changing managers with every year, or maximum 2 to stop. It won`t give us anything good in the current situation and competition, and i`m tired of scandals and fights at this club. I just don`t get how the board could manage to f*** it that hard ??? How can they did this again, after 2015 ? Let`s face it, it`s the same atmosphere. They don`t back the manager, the squad is weaken(now it`s even worst, squad it`s very thin), Hazard is injured(no one knows on what form he will come back), and there is a major problem in the club. Now is with Costa, back then was with Eva. And whats happen, in one day they say they backed the manager fully and at the end they fired him. They make so many mistakes. With all the sacked managers, Jose Mourinho was the saviour everyone was waiting. He wasn`t so successful, like the previous time, but he still won us the PL title. And only Ancelotti and Conte has done that. How many managers we changed in that period 2003-2017 ? Only 3 of them has manage to win us the title. And 1 major trophy in Di Mateo, but there was huge luck and destiny was for us to win it. That`s a 14 years. We probably changed more then 10 managers. Without interim, its 12. So what`s that tell you ? This is not the right way. The right way is to find the right guy, and i`m sorry but Jose Mourinho and Conte looked like the perfect ones. With Jose it`s obvious the dressingroom is f**** hard. But the board never for once stand for it`s managers. Ferguson build United, but he was the man there. Everyone there was knowing that he is the boss and if someone decide to play on his own, no matter his name, he will be sold. I don`t see how something like this with Costa can happen on United, when Ferguson was there. Why our club not take legal action against him? He have contract and and he can`t talk like that on media and revals things from the kitchen. There is a contract and there is private things, that you can`t speak freely at the media. August 15, 20178 yr There have been some ridiculous stories floating around, the most bizarre of which popped up on my Twitter feed today, saying that the squad are unsure on Rudiger and if he's good enough The only sources they quote are other clickbait merchants such as Yahoo, who also have no proof. A complete storm has been whipped up from this uncertainty, and it seems to be spiralling out of control. I hope we can sign some decent players and start getting some results ASAP to try and quieten things down a bit. Either way, it's a shambolic start to a title defence once again, which is a shame as I was genuinely looking forward to it with Conte at the helm, having worked miracles last season and hopefully being able to strengthen us in the summer. A long way to go this season I know, and even some time left in the transfer window, so can see the next few weeks being key; both on and off the pitch. I dare say I'm probably going to be ignoring any source of news that isn't chelseafc.com for a while though, there's far too much negativity and 'fake news' surrounding us at the moment!

Yeah, for once I'd like it that we were the stable club after winning a trophy. Every time we win a trophy, the next year will be downhill for us. Then the year after, we'll make a good fist about challenging for honors and will even win some of them only to fall down again the next year. I don't mind not winning every year but at least I'd like it to be less of a circus.
August 16, 20178 yr Deino, the problem is, now with Guardiola and Mourinho and they give a lot more then us for players, and have very strong team now, we will sack the manager and appoint new one, we will start winning right away. I don`t see that happen anymore. That happen, only with World Class managers like Conte, Mou and Ancelotti. And to be fair with Carlo, back then United was not a team that give a lot of players for money, City wasn`t was not what they are today and Totteman and Liverpool was poor. And Arsenal now give more for players then before. And even back then Jose need 2 season to win us the title. Who will be that manager, who has to be a top manager, to do something good and to challenge Mou and Guardiola, with less money and for sure lower qualitty players and depth then them ? Who will be that guy. To me after Conte we will go for manager like Tuchel and Luis Enrique. This is huge downhill. And with such manager and our board even top 4 will be hard to achieve. And if all stories are true and Conte leave at the end of the windows, which is very possible i do think Hazard will leave too. And to me he is the only world class player that we have. And then we are in big trouble. Even with 150m. we can`t replace him and knowing this board o boy we are in big trouble. And then forget to challenge for the major trophies. Thats the way i see it and that`s why i`m so worried. No matter how you see, the board messed big, and this will have huge consequences to our future. This was the right time for the first time the board to show the support for our manager and to back him fully. We sold players for more then 200m. from the winter till now, we freely a lot of salary and we get 150m. from winning the title. They should allocate Conte 300m. tell him their demands i mean, don`t get players above 27-28y. which cost a lot and let him do his magic. And there still left 50m. they can left alone for a stadium or for the what they want. With Conte and as a Champions we was great destination for everyone. We should have get Walker or Danilo, Sandro or Mendy, that`s kinda arround 100m., and we so far give 120m., here you go - 220m., and 80m. are left for 2-3 more players for depth. And our squad would be on another level. We could have tried for James. It is great deal for Bayern. 10m. only for 2 years on loan ... And he give the team so many options. I just don`t get how is even possible they f*** us so hard, once again after 2015. It`s hard to imagine we can repeat that year, but i do think we messed even worst. We should have done our buisness early. But once again our board was lazy, slow, and was trying to lower the price again and again and the opposition steal us player and player, and of course the board waited and waited and here we are, again in that sh*** position. Not Conte, the board should go !!! Edited August 16, 20178 yr by brakeit

Haha, yes you would think so, half of us might be mad, the other half just bored and few perhaps inspired, time will tell. Of course before we won the FA in 97, plenty of fans thought they were mad following Chelsea up and down the country.
August 16, 20178 yr I think a different slant needs to be put on what Conte is here to do and what the role of the Board is. The Board will be strategising way beyond this season - probably 5-10 years down the track in terms of where the club will be. Conte's job is to manage within the context of that strategy but in the here and now. Who knows what the Board's plans are? Maybe the current season and the next couple are all about paving the way for huge new stadium investment? Maybe this means that they are happy with being near the top of the EPL and with a good run in the CL as this keeps prize money coming in and attracting lucrative sponsorship deals - and, crucially, maybe they are prepared to sacrifice EPL top spot and old Big Ears in the near term for some financial prudence on the transfer front. Maybe Conte is aware/ok with this and any real successes are icing on the cake? Edited August 16, 20178 yr by Bloo

August 16, 20178 yr And they keep bleating on about how they haven't been kept fully informed. As if Marks & Sparks or BT or Sainsburys keep their customers fully informed with regard to their immediate and long-term business strategies. They get on my tits, really!
August 16, 20178 yr We are already talking about sacking Conte or the board, things really escalated quickly after 1 bad game.
August 16, 20178 yr 'Kin Hell, this thread gets more & more depressing! I'm not getting too distraught just yet but I am a tad dismayed at how things appear to have gone downhill so quickly. Poor, even by our standards. A couple of wins against Spuds & Everton and things would look a whole lot better but looking at the players available currently, that is being optimistic and I dread to think what the reaction would be to 3 straight defeats in the first three games. What a Roller-Coaster of a Club we are.

They had all these players last year, plus ibrahimovic who got a good amount of goals but they still couldn't win games, who is going to change that for them? Lukaku by himself plus matic who can't pass forward will change 6th place into 1st? You read too many red tops mate, they have depth but as a first team we are a lot better. Morata is a much better footballer than lukaku, played in the last 3 champions league finals, way more high level experience, f**king Everton.... Hazard is worth the rest of all of their attacking options combined. Then pedro Willian, is at least equal to mata and mkhitaryan. CM pogba did f**k all last year yet kante was the player of the season, matic we couldn't wait to get rid of and we upgraded him with bakayoko, it's yet to be seen if he improves us a lot but for me he is a brilliant player and matic was a passenger for large parts of the season we can bring on cesc to change a game who can they bring on carrick? Defence they have plenty of options but do they even have one player you would say wow he is a good defender? I would our staring 11 over them any day, if we add a bit of depth and even a decent wing back we are just a better team and we have proved that.
August 16, 20178 yr Dude your hate towards Lukaku knows no limit. Lukaku so far with pre-season and Supercup scored 6 goals for United. And in their last 2 matches - 3 goals. You was saying he won`t be as good in top team. We already see how good he can be. He wasn`t doing much in big matches, really ? He scored against Real, he scored against City. And that he didn`t do anything else, it`s not true. He was the guy with most assist from the strikers last season. Atleast at this point, before Morata prove himself HERE in England i don`t see how you can say he is better then Lukaku. In the future he very well maybve and i hope he become better. But Lukaku is one damn of a good striker, and to me at this stage of their career, he is better then Zlatan for United. He will win them a lot of points, especially against low opposition. And thats where you win the title. And just because some player last year was underperforming, doesn`t mean they will do it this year. Pogba is a top class midfielder without a doubt. We don`t have such player like him, equal good in defence and offense. Matic-Herrera-Pogba is one hell of a good mid line. And a lot of people here were criticized Matic for nothing. And he may very well lost motivation here. With new motivation in United he can be very good for them. If Mourinho stop being so pussy and play more aggressively, United have all they need to win the PL and be contenders in CL. And the depth is very, very imporant in PL title chase. If you don`t have, you are doomed. And they just don`t have depth with average players, they have quality on the bench. And to me the only really better player we have then them is Hazard. They don`t came close to this. But we don`t have players like Herrera, Mhitarian, Pogba, De Gea for me is a lot better then Tibo, they also have nice depth, Martial, Lindgard, Rashford. They have fresh player, who are eager to win trophies, they have experience, they have class. No way our squad is better, no way. That`s my opinion. You have yours. August 16, 20178 yr @brakeit you need to relax, man. It's all well and good being angry but at least have faith in the squad. It's just the start of the season, you'll burnout before christmas if you keep this up
August 16, 20178 yr I give the transfer deadline day when Conte leaves Chelsea. Unless we sign atleast 3 players, I don't see Conte sticking with us for that much longer.
August 16, 20178 yr Conte wont face the season with this squad. We are 3-4 players short. Conte, the board, the players and the fans know it. Why we moving so slow with the signings is well beyond me.
