Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager

Featured Replies

Dunno how you can read what he said and come to that conclusion. Didn't say anything about us winning or not.

Naah. I'm too excited about Conte. I'm not that bothered what other clubs do. Jose is Jose. He wins things. What I like to see how ManU fans turn their jacket on the man. There has been a lot of hate towards him and now they start to love him.

Jose will win trophies with United, there is no doubt in my mind... and when that happens it will of course sting a bit but we have to focus on our manager and team.

But equally, when the wheels inevitably come off and it all goes tits up (which it will), it will also be nice to sit back and watch the circus with it being none of our business.

so you would be happy if Jose rather than Chelsea win the league?

if we could challenge the title sure i want us to win

but lets be honest, our defense are shaky, our striker is just coming back from injury, we still dont have a proper left back and a center back to start the league

if we cant win it i would definitely want Jose to win it and slap in the face of everyone who doubted him, including the board members and Emenalo

edit: I assume if we can challenge top 6 it would be a good job by Conte given he doesnt have any great players to work with except Hazard and Kante this year

We should be in the top 4, anything below that is not a success. Hazard and Kante are probably our best, but you seem to be forgetting our other players, Costa is great, Fabregas is great, Willian is great, Courtois is great, Batman seems to have serious potential. It's only our defence that's not 'great', and we are one centre half and a full back away from making it great.

cesc is great, but only last half season, (not to mention he might be sh*t for whole season just like last year), Costa had injury issues, Willian never scores or assist, Courtois doesnt seems to really commit to Chelsea and his aerial presence still doesnt pay out to replace Petr, his reflex is great but he tends to put the ball back to danger position instead of putting them out for a corner (compare to Petr), Bat may be great but definitely not this season

I mean every single direct rival are buying players like nuts, we are still stuck in CB/LB with no real replacement yet, even mid table team are all buying new players...if we fail to CL again this season we will lose everyone you mentioned above and officially went to Liverpool's way, thanks to the transfer policy of the club

Love Conte and think he will do well. However the only thing that is making me nervous is that our starting 11 is largely the same as last year. Apart from Kante, we haven't added a starting player. Makes me nervous.

That said, the players showed during the Spurs game that they still have it in them so they need to make up for last year, big time.

well he sure sounds happy if Jose wins in, and Jose wins it means we don't win it, so...

apologies if my earlier post feels judgemental. it's just that i don't get how anyone could be happy if any club other than Chelsea win it

well it's probably a different mindset. no problem, you have every right to feel happy if Jose wins it this year, but i won't

that said, referring to your previous question about whether anyone feels sad seeing United, no i don't feel a bit sad. i appreciate what Jose did to us back then, but right now, it's clear that right now he's the enemy (in case anyone hasn't noticed, he is now the manager of United, our biggest rival for years). before, i always look forward to crush United every time we meet them. now nothing has changed, i still want to crush them, even if it means going against our best manager ever

there will always be someone win it, just like last year people support leicester win it, i would love Jose to win it to make our board learns and fire Maria and Emenalo asap (if we have no chance to win the league already)

Make our board learn what? To not fire a manager who had us in the relegation zone and couldn't inspire the players to get better results.

I don't think the board or anyone at the club would care if he won the league with United, especially with how much spending they have done and who they have brought in.

And if our board don't learn? Hope he wins it again and we relegate?. And what's the lesson to be learned?. Always sign the player the manager wants even if above budget?

learn what? learn buying what the manager want and no more buy one sell one bs

and learn to support the manager to fire every players who are not willing to listen to the manager, supporting the manager 200% and make sure any players who try to riot or cause chaos in the dressing room be frozen in u18 and never comes back

dont tell me about budget, Roman clearly able to pay 100m or 200m is he insist the buy one sell one bs and completely forgot what he said in 2012 he would make us chasing club like Real Madrid, winning more CL titles, i dont see buy one sell one policy or buying Hecktor, baba and papy trashes could bring us anywhere

Why would i say they need to learn is because if they dont change their way to run the club, the same issue happened at 2007, 2011, and last year would just come back and haunt us again and again and no matter which manager we hire the result will only be the same. You cannot have the mentality of being a champion and winner of the league but spending like a midtable team, this is just putting unnecessarily pressure and unrealistic expectation to the manager to bring success to the club in long run. Maybe some managers could use very little resources like Leicester to win something, but that is just a miracle, is not sustainable and not reliable.

Just read that Levine article. Too much criticism to our backline as it is the midfield-cover that failed however I think an additional CB is in order.

We have the whole month to buy players. I think we will play pretty ugly just to claim points early in the season. If we manage to buy key players we will finetune the play.

a lot

i still think we make a BIG mistake last season and is going to haunt us in the next 5~10 years

Going to haunt us for the next 5-10 years?

So you don't rate Conte then? And you reckon Mourinho will be at Utd for the long-term?

Anyone seriously getting ANY pleasure out of a Mourinho led Utd side winning the league cannot IMO be a Chelsea fan. It's just not a concept I can comprehend. Sure that shouldn't be JoseForeverFan?!!

or maybe you can write a fans for dummies to teach me how to be a proper Chelsea fans...? I supported them since i was 6 at 96 I think i still havent learn the proper way yet lol

I came here to discussion in peaceful way and no need to point finger

for me I dont really hate Man Utd that much, maybe because i dont live in UK, i hate Spurs and Arsenal more and Utd just like City i dont really hate them besides being direct rival in title chasing, but since I dont really think we are going to challenge the title this year so i dont see them as any threat

in 2010 after Inter eliminate us I support Inter to win it all, 2012 if we lost in semi i would support Real to win it all, If this year Chelsea didnt manage to be in the title chasing group I would rather Utd to win other than Spurs/Arsenal or Pep, simple as that

so you don't live in uk but you hate derby rivals more? and you can so casually write chelsea off before the season even started and waste no time in pledging your allegiance to jose's team?? Well, just in case you haven't noticed, your fanboying/fangirling act is way way too obvious..

Fair enough - we're all different and although I don't agree, I can sort of understand why some Chelsea fans will still carry a torch for Mourinho.

Some of on the other hand will get huge enjoyment out of each and every utd defeat and look forward to it all going tits up!!
