With James Rodriguez's move to Bayern maybe we're seeing Real moving on with their sales etc before the US tour next week...on a side note the timing might also be good if Morota wants to keep his 21 shirt no. currently worn by Matic...

Doesn't look that promising if Real have let Morata travel with the rest of the squad to US...I'm increasingly turning to Belotti as the most likely alternative...his release clause is £88 but perhaps there's a deal to be had by including add-ons etc. to reduce the initial outlay...maybe £70m up front rest in add-ons?

Him going on tour doesn't mean much. Let him get back into fitness while we iron out a deal with the club.

Traveling with the team doesn't really mean anything, it's still a possibility that he will be transferred. All it really means right now is that nothing has been agreed.

True but being on different continents doesn't help...

Realistically I do not believe we will break our transfer record this window so the strikers being talked about are out of reach imo.

Not at all negotiations could take until the end of August, surely we don't expect him to stay in a State of limbo and not have a pre season because we are intrested, this means nothing other than a deal isn't imminently close yet, plus aircraft are wonderful things he could go from being on tour in the US to training with us in the Far East within hours.

Apparently he's told Zidane that he wants to stay and fight for his place...though of course there's no direct quotes...

It's certainly not very encouraging he's gone to LA with Real Madrid. Pretty much guarantees a deal won't be done quick at least and i think we need that.

I mean he could just be covering himself suppose we can't agree on a fee and he has pushed hard for Chelsea he will deffinatly not get the same chance, I think he is being in her middke with the club said he wants first team football so would move for a good offer but would like to play for real and fight for his place, if negotiations get close and they ask him he will move 100 percent, World Cup coming up, first team football, under conte...no way he picks bench warmer over that imo.

What got me was the cheek of Modric to say that "any move from Real Madrid would be a step down"
That's easy for him to say when he's not warming the bench every match.

I wouldn't worry about Morata being on tour, Lukaku was in USA and he still managed a medical and signed for them.

We have the money to send our representatives over to get the deal done.
