Alvaro Morata

We dont have non-HG places for both.

Tibo, Willy, Eduardo

Alonso

Luiz, Rudiger, Azpi

Kante, Matic

Eden, Willian, Pedro

Michy

Thats already 13 players. Add Bakayoko to that (14). Adding James and Morata would mean 16. And we have not even counted the 2nd LWB, 2nd RWB, 3rd Striker spots (all of which are rumored to be going to non-HG players Danilo, Sandro/Baba). Dont think we should/could buy both these players, especially James as I cant see him adding much value. He will be the 4th winger (behind Hazard, willian and Pedro). I think Musonda should be given that opportunity and place.

Think Mousanda is registered as a youth player so that doesn't count towards the HG figure but doubt if Baba will be back after a setback in his injury and probably Blackman will be registered in CL games of he stays around this season...James is probably a luxury signing but if Hazard is out for a while then he may be more useful...

I think the idea might have been about having GC, Cesc, Moses, Lukaku, 4th winger (Musonda), 5th CM (Nat/Baker), 6th CB (Youth player) and one of Andreas/Ake for the 8 HG positions.

We dropped the ball with Lukaku and it might set off a chain reaction.

My point is, 3rd choice keeper is not the most vital position in the squad, last season he hasn't played at all. Eduardo may be a nice guy and a solid keeper but we could have opened up another non-HG spot for a top quality player from abroad if we had just signed some british GK for that role. This is just poor from the board, Lukaku or no Lukaku.

Morata will do well and could suit the way Chelsea play. The only problem is that Madrid know you NEED a striker and those greedy c**ts will use that to their advantage. But beyond that Morata to me although not first choice or even 2nd choice for most Chelsea fans seems a perfect fit for the way Conte sets his team up. Had Lukaku fallen through I'd have been rather pleased if United signed him, the market for quality strikers is really small this summer.

Sky are saying we've taken the first steps to bid £70m for him.

What are the first steps? Don't get what's these steps are, bid and have done with it.

Yeah, a lot of folks here have the same issue

All these reports come a day after they have nothing left to report on lukaku and Rooney.  We will be linked with every big named striker till we actualy sign one.

But I do believe morrata is the best option now it looks like costa will deffo be on his way out.

If it wasn't for Costa' s attitude I'd of called conte and for selling him.

Often the first steps is to make contact with the player's agent to see if the player is interested and then follow that up with a formal approach to the club...or in the case of Liverpool, the manager takes the player out to dinner and discusses where the player fits into the club's formation...

I would think that too...but it's Sky reporting. Have been wrong in the past but normally with Sky or BBC, there's at least some truth in it. I reckon we've made an enquiry at least.

Id be happy to give Morata and bats a go up front next year. But still need some back up for minor cup games etc

I assume that's why we are in for Llorente too of rumours are to be believed.

Morata would be a brilliant signing, prolific for Real on his return even though most of his appearances were off the bench.

Conte clearly rates him highly as he has worked with him before and lead the line very well at Juve.

With Hazard set to miss the start of the season and Costa all but gone, we will definitely require a additional attacking Midfielder/Striker otherwise we are seriously going to struggle to score goals.

Morata will most likely take some time to settle and our other attacking options are incredibly limited, maybe Aubameyang alongside Morata? I know it's a pipe dream but we need somebody in that mould who will offer us more of a goal threat then Willian.

He wouldn't go to another PL club.  He doesn't like living in England.

I agree. He apparently dislikes living in London, one of the most diverse, fashionable destinations on the planet, what would Liverpool or the likes have to offer him?

What I don't get is -

A. What will we have to give Real in return for getting the deal done? Rights to Hazard down the road or what? Courtois? I would be all for a straight cash deal, I don't want to dance with the devil.

B. Why would Real allow Morata to come just so he can free Costa up to go to their historic rivals? That will surely add more competition for them in the domestic competitions.

Answer = money...they need around 180m euros for Mbappe...that's why they're having a clear out...Morata, James Rodriguez and Danilo...

Might sound silly, but why are we going for Llorente?

Why not go for someone like Austin as a back up striker, sure we'd rarely play him but he'd fill the homegrown quota.

Just something to ponder on.

What about that guy Belotti?

I like the player but I can't see us spending best part of £90m on a player that's had one decent season in an inferior league...
