Jose Mourinho thread

That's your opinion on whether you think it was the right decision, and I'm well aware you're not a Mourinho fan which is your prerogative and one you're entitled to.

We're still halfway through the season subsequent to his sacking. Conte has exceeded all expectations and Jose's start at Manchester United has been underwhelming, but it will take a few years to see whether it was truly the right decision or not.

So far, it looks like the club made the right call despite the difficulty of choosing such a direction.

It will take a few years to properly determine it, but so far it's gone in our favour which is great and as someone who thought it was the wrong decision at the time along with countless others, this season's turnaround under Conte has certainly dulled the pain of losing him last year and made us move on quicker than we anticipated.

Here's hoping our current success continues and Jose falters at Manchester United.

Personally i always thought if the players were still on his side then our bad form would've been temporary and no need to sack him, but once the players down tools for the manager it's over regardless of how good a manger he is, and that's what happened. Sacking him wasn't that difficult a decision. Either the club sacks all the players and buy new ones or sack the manager and there's only one winner.

TBH I don't mind off jose does have success at United aslong as it isn't at our expense.

That's not really possible. For a club like United, winning the league is the only thing they want which is also what we want so there would always be a conflict of interest if you support both.

i will wish him success if he leaves the country though. I might hate him now but I'll never forget what he's done for us.

If he wins trophies that's success no matter how anyone pins it.

Be funny if the United team turn on him. Don't want him to win anything. Less for us to win. Won't be long till he's slagging us off or having dogs at us again. Spineless and without an ounce of class.

This so called Utd comeback reminds of the lvg years when they'd win a couple of games back to back and suddenly it was "Utd are back" only to lose at home to swansea and then suddenly it was back to #lvgout

i meant them just losing in general, not specifically playing us, when its us its equal, want to hammer them both

The Guardian are reporting United want to offer him an extension.

That was fast. A few good results and suddenly he's god again. I dont doubt they/he will do well this season and next but why it's smart to offer him more on top of the 4 years he's signed on for is beyond me

United is signing themselves for a huge payout if the new contract rumour is true. There's going to be that day United won't be meeting Jose's demand, then we will see him throwing out the toys ( if he could keep being sane for that long)

Will never forget what he's done but it ends there. I absolutely despise the man more and more each day. It's very hard for me to accept his behavior this season. Constant subtle digs at Chelsea whilst sucking every ounce of £(*$ from Utd's rear end. He even apologised to the Utd fans in their next game after the 4-0 as if they are some special kind of fan base.

To think he fooled a good chunk of our fanbase into thinking that we had a trouble maker in Eva, 3 rats in the camp and an incompetent spiteful Technical Director whose sole purpose is to destroy the club and not give into Jose's stupid demands of spending £100m every summer.

You were all wrong!

Two wins against a poor Spurs and west Brom and they're offering him a contract extension? He already has a 3yr contract so why not just let him earn another contract by actually delivering results. I guess they enjoy paying out millions to sacked managers just like us.

We all know it's gonna happen sooner or later. He will be demanding more and more expensive signings and if the club doesn't keep up he'll throw a strop and down tools.

I always think a manager should at least see out half his contract length before extensions are considered.

I think a more sensible option for United is to review and consider an extension for Jose this time next year when he's halfway through his current contract and it gives them a greater understanding and direction as to whether he's the right option in the long-term or not for them.

The same applies to us with Conte who signed a three-year contract. The club would be sensible to allow Antonio to get on with the job and provided he's still managing us in 12 months time, then it would be sensible to discuss contract extensions.

I don't understand the love that United and Mourinho and receiving from the press in the last week. They're only one loss or surprise draw away from being criticised again.

I think that's just the media for you. Look at Arsenal they were saying how different they are now a week later after 2 away defeats they're the same old Arsenal. Look at City a week ago they were done then they beat Arsenal and media are all over them. I could go on with Liverpool but I'll stop there lol. The media love to build up a team so that when they fall they can jump all over it or if they happen to succeed they can claim to be right. It's just a vicious cycle.
