Wales manager Chris Coleman and Leicester City's boss Claudio Ranieri are on Fifa's 10-man nominations shortlist for Men's Coach of 2016.

Wales made the European Championships semi-finals, their first major tournament since the 1958 World Cup.

Ranieri's Leicester stunned football by winning the 2015-16 Premier League.

Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool) and Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham Hotspur) are also on the list.

Other nominations are: Didier Deschamps (France), Luis Enrique (Spain), Fernando Santos (Portugal), Diego Simeone (Argentina) and Zenedine Zidane (Real Madrid).

The award winner will be announced on 9 January, 2017.

It will be decided by a vote split 50% between global players and coaches as well as an online public ballot and 200 members of the media from around the world.

The coach of the Iceland national team has been overlooked!

Good call. It would be nice to see Claudio win the award but I suspect it will go to Guardiola or Deschamps. Noticed that Brendan Rodgers is missing from the list. Given that he's managed what he thinks are the two best teams in Britain it is a surprise. Not to myself: I must stop being sarcastic about Brenda.

So either they think Diego Simeone manages Argentina or Zinedine (they spelled that wrong too) is from the country of Real Madrid

He's going for 'Dentist of the year' instead.

From what I've seen Pogba has been getting plenty of stick, and I think the general footballing audience has noticed that Man Utd are shall we say... underperforming.

That said, he's a young player in a new league. He's incredibly talented and should be given a chance to find his feet. There is little doubt in my mind that he'll become one of the team's key players.

It's been nothing compared to what Torres got...in fact, main stick has been for Mourinho rather than pogba

Was Ozil's goal last night really world class? It was a dink over a headless chicken of a gk and a tap in, Not bad but certainly wasn't Messi against Zaragoza.

He took it well, no more no less

Remember how much sp*rs were bragging about having biggest cl attendence for an English club at home (doesn't count really as they're at Wembley)?Well as far as I could tell, there were only a few thousand there tonight and they were German..,didn't hear anything from that sp*rs mob...fans were as listless as their players

With all this talk of the supposed ill effects of playing at Wembley has anyone stopped to consider that Spurs are just a bit sh*t?

Why are spurs playing at wembley?

The Pope told them they couldn't use the Olimpico...

Real Madrid almost lost to an unknown team !! Spurs gonna spurs ... Are they out already ?

Legia aren't exactly 'unknown', they're one of the most successful clubs in the history of Polish football.

Thing is, we have a pretty good away record and we've played very well against the likes of Woolwich and Man City away, especially last season and their pitch is pretty similar in size to Wembley.

I don't think we can blame the pitch either, or the atmosphere or Wembley...
obviously though if this was at the lane we would have won easily....."      !!!

Whilst the fan in me can agree with you, the fact is since the Russian bought them they have averaged more than a trophy per season, including 4 League Titles, 4 FA Cups, 3 League Cups, CL & an EL.
To an advertiser/partner/shirt supplier our 1 League Cup in that same period wouldn't inspire them to lump on Spurs, we really do have to earn our Spurs so to speak.

I get that since Roman's dodgy roubles, the Chavs have earned a bigger marketing share, due to being more popular in say the far east and emerging markets. Their fanbase at home though is still no bigger than 40k, they don't sell out their CL games or attract a bigger following even after those trophy wins.

We after years of mediocrity during the 90s and early 00s are building ourselves back into a proper elite team, not through someone ploughing £££ into our squad, but by trying to do it the right way of buying players who are value for money and trying to develop our own via state of the art facilities and coaching, plus the new stadium. That is surely a marketing persons dream to buy into. Our supposed £30m a year Nike deal is double that of UA, we've got to take small steps in the right direction. If we continue to develop along with a strong home grown quota, I'm sure our future commercial deals will reflect our standing.
