December 8, 20169 yr As I posted here, and which you can read more about here, a 5 year old Sunderland fan with cancer has received the awful news that his cancer is terminal, and he has two months to live. His parents are trying one last ditch round of treatment, but the odds are very slim. This will be his final Christmas. I'm hoping that our club can give him a signed ball or something next week. He can't have too many gifts this Christmas! If any of you have a direct contact at the club, could you please contact them to arrange something? Barring that, could you please give me their contact details? It would be better if you did it since they probably get bombarded with messages. I have been in touch a few times with a friend of their family, and I can provide their address if the club wishes to send him something instead of giving it at the game. Also, the Sunderland fans are planning to chant, "There's only one Bradley Lowery" during the 5th minute of next week's game. If you are attending, please join in.

Great cause, have you tried messaging the club/some of the senior players on Twitter? They do respond to this stuff every now and again, or try emailing the club.
December 8, 20169 yr Some pictures of the little guy. In better times, which were all too short. This is during his brief remission period before the cancer came back. This is what he's had to go through for over 60% of his life. Can you imagine that? Look at the raw spots that chemotherapy ate into his skin. Ever had a tube inserted into your nose? It's torture! And his poor little veins. He's had his blood drawn on a more than weekly basis since this summer. At the Sunderland-Everton game earlier this season.

I assume they get a ton of Tweets directed toward them, most of which are pretty mean, so they would ignore it. It would be much better if someone here has a direct contact at the club.
December 9, 20169 yr @offside - f**k me! I emailed Pat Nevin last night and he has replied. I will pm you.
December 11, 20169 yr JT's sending a Christmas card and a signed shirt http://www.90min.com/posts/4252752-photo-john-terry-shows-touch-of-class-after-gesture-to-sunderland-fan-with-2-months-to-live?utm_medium=share&utm_source=fotmob

He isn't this cheating, racist monster that most of the media and opposition fans want people to believe.
December 11, 20169 yr Another great win. Gutsy, determined performance, not the best, but my word it will do. Nine in a row. Congrats, lads. Congrats, Antonio. Anyway, here are the ever-ridiculous crystal ball predictions: Chelsea (3-4-3): Thompson; Azpilicueta, Luiz, Ivanovi?; Moses, Oscar, Loftus-Cheek (c), T. Chalobah; Pedro, Costa, Hazard Subs: Eduardo, Zouma, Mati?, Willian, Fábregas, Alonso, Solanke Prediction: Sunderland 1-2 Chelsea (Costa, Oscar) Apart from the admission of Jared Thompson in goal and Trevoh Chalobah at left wing back, it's not as bad as some of the previous predictions. Loftus-Cheek captains the team from midfield. Once again, we are missing a host of players but, for once, in crystal ball land, Costa is not one of them. He starts, he scores, as does Oscar. 2-1 to the Blues. I'll take that. Come on, the Chels!

December 11, 20169 yr Hmmm...another potential banana skin, especially since we only have 3 days between games. I'm torn between what tack Moyes might take. On the other hand ever since his Everton days he has often set up to grind out a draw or win against the bigger sides, especially when playing away. On the other hand, he would be feeling pressure to escape the relegation zone, especially playing at home, so he may be more attacking than Pulis. My initial instinct is to use the same starting XI unless it's obvious some players aren't fit enough. If need be then bring on Cesc in the second half to provide some incision.
December 11, 20169 yr Hate playing this lot, they always seem to turn up firing on all cylinders against us season in, season out. Personally I'd settle for another scrappy 1-0 like today, but hopefully it'll be a more convincing victory to set us up for another tough battle against Palace at the weekend

Not saying that guarantees anything Wednesday but Sunderland has been a kind fixture for us for quite some time despite the loss last season.
December 11, 20169 yr Perhaps I'm just haunted by the fact that we only have 2 victories against them in the last 6 games in all comps? 17 Dec 2013 Sunderland v Chelsea L 2-1 League Cup 19 Apr 2014 Chelsea v Sunderland L 1-2 Premier League 29 Nov 2014 Sunderland v Chelsea D 0-0 Premier League 24 May 2015 Chelsea v Sunderland W 3-1 Premier League 19 Dec 2015 Chelsea v Sunderland W 3-1 Premier League 07 May 2016 Sunderland v Chelsea L 3-2 Premier League

December 11, 20169 yr with the pedestrian pace we played against westbrom, we shudnt be too tired for this one. i will swap willian for pedro though
December 11, 20169 yr This match 12/11/88 was a 1 - 1, but when we played them at their place we won 1 - 2 will take 0 - 2 this time will leave team selection to Mr Conte but would like to see Willian for Pedro.
December 11, 20169 yr Worth remembering that we are not used to playing midweek games of late. Last time we did we lost our league cup game at west ham. So will be interesting to see how fresh we are for the game.
December 11, 20169 yr West Brom should have given us a wake up call! We were now used to playing the sides that believe they can beat us and hence would play open, so it was easy to get space! Today we were reminded of the other dimension of the Premier League! I expect Sunderland to do the same to us as WBA but I also expect the boys to handle it much better this time round! Let's go Chelsea, i think 2-0 is the likely result!
December 11, 20169 yr We haven't got a good record against them recently, especially on their own turf, this is to perfect time to right the wrong. I don' think Conte will change the team for the sake of changing it. I'm sure they will watch the WBA game and play like that, just don't think they have the personnel and commitment to do that. I expect to win 3:1, that little bugger Defoe usually scores against us.
December 12, 20169 yr Potential Banana Skin. North east is a place we tend to find hard, We won't be as fresh as we are playing just 3 days after WBA. Hope Luiz puts in his usual performance as he looked dodgy against WBA, as Defoe and Anichebee will look to cause lots of problems

December 12, 20169 yr Bottom of the pile and in desperate need for points, they will have to attack us, surely?! A point for them would still keep them rock bottom, a win would lift them out of trouble, perhaps! Horrible place to go, cold, wet rainy night probably. Need to keep the momentum going. Make it 10 lads.

NO.. it would be very similar, if not exactly, to what west brom did.. moyes is that type of manager.. defnitely need cesc from the start, can't always rely on individual complacency or brilliance to bail us out..
