Great headers. Saved our bacon.

But, defensively he reminds me of David Luiz. Capable of looking both top-class and shocking. You can't entirely trust him and that's a problem.

And his passing is the worst out of all the CBs we have for me. That's a problem as well playing the way we do.

His passing has been horrendous this season. I thought Zouma's passing was bad but he actually surprised me this season, Zouma actually looks better with the ball to his feet than Rudiger does... Very strange, because I highly rated Rudiger when playing it out from the back.

were we watching the same match? put in so many blocks and won a lot of headers. defensively.. I cant remember a single brain fade that has cost us a goal ? I think Rudi is a very solid defender... very harsh to call him Luiz!

That part about Luiz is nonsense, he's way better than Luiz defensively, it's not even close.

For me he's unconvincing defensively. I understand if others disagree but his positioning isn't great for me and he's rash.

And David Luiz is a decent defender that did well for us most of the time. It's not like i'm comparing him to Mustafi.

No he isn't, he's a good footballer but a terrible defender. Are you saying luiz's positioning is better and he isnt as rash as Rudiger? That's the 2 main complaints about Luiz since we signed him.

No i'm not saying he's better at all. I am saying it's comparable. I think Rudiger is a bit better on the contrary but not by as much as one would want.

I disagree completely, rudiger is several levelas above Luiz in all aspects of defending. 

One good, one great header and a much improved defensive display. 

Which is great because he has been really poor since coming back from injury. 

Far as Luiz comparisons go if only he could pass half as good. Amazing a professional footballer misplaces so many passes. He is a way better defender though, even when he is poor.

Many think he is our best defender, maybe he is, personally I prefer the Tomori and Zouma pairing. 

I would like to see him paired with Tomori, recently it's been just with Christensen.

I like also the way he seems quite vocal when we concede without knowing what he says it appears to be something like,

'Wake the fxck up and come on,  let's have a go at em.'

If i am honest i don't rate him, it takes more than a cool nickname to impress me, i thought we would look better in defence when he came back, but seriously he's just not a top defender, i dont think that will ever change. Him and Christensen have both played in the last four league games and we have now conceded 7 goals in those 4 games. Frank has to sort it out.

Tomori imo has more scope for future improvement, i feel he's being wasted on the bench with Rudiger/Christensen now blocking him. 

It's a shame because i thought Frank would be more patient with him.

Tomori and Zouma did a decent job while Rudiger was injured, considering that nobody really expected them to do as well as they did together I thought that at least one of them would stay in the starting lineup but both are now at the bench.

I know that Christensen can pass the ball better but I wonder if it's possible that it's due to one game where Tomori was like a right back when he played poorly and suddenly after that he simply isn't playing anymore at all...Maybe we should just go with the 3 at the back since our attacking players don't have much of an end product recently and the midfield isn't capable to score goals either.

For some reason he's overrated by many.

JT criticized him yesterday for his positioning on Martials goal and obviously he lost the challenge for Maguires goal too.

It's a bit weird, he's overrated and underrated, he really divides opinions. 

At the moment I'm pretty disappointed in him, I highly rated him beforehand, I think he has been quite poor this season. 

Think it speaks volumes when Rudiger is considered our best centre back. As many has said, he is good but not great. he's prone to errors, gets beat in the air too often and not a great passer of the ball. I like Rudiger, but if he's the best we've got, no wonder we are struggling. 

I think with Rudiger it's his manner that makes him look more of a leader whereas the others seem a bit quiet.

I think he was good last season. Yes somehow this season he doesn´t seem the same. Idk if it is on himself or the system, coaching staff, injury etc.

Became a father for the first time after the game today. It’ll always be easy for him to remember such a massive event in his life, the day he smashed Tottenham yet again!

If we are serious about this rebuild we need two top-class CBs in the summer. Currently we have none.

Have to second that, all our centre backs are mid to lower prem league level. 

Crazy that he’s playing and Tomori doesn’t even make the match day squad these days, sort it out Franky

I can't say he has been bad, but i would say Zouma has had better games than Rudiger this season, and Tomori is a much better option when you have a lot of possession like we do.

Rudiger is not good enough now, and never will be imo.

With what money? There are many holes around the squad and depending on who you ask we need 3-10 new players.

I can’t see it all happening in one window but a good manager should be able to mask his squad’s weaknesses. Before all that we need to appoint a Sporting Director who will define our style of play going forward, and head our recruitment. Currently we have players suited to Conte’s style of play, a few for Sarri’s and the youth players stuck in the middle.
