Mourhinho's exit transfer blunders

Featured Replies

I said at the time of selling De Bruyne that was one of our biggest mistakes, even with Sturridge. I highly rated De Bruyne at Genk, if anyone ever watched him play in that league when he was 18 you couldn't say otherwise that he would one day be a world beater.

He was never given the chance at Chelsea despite playing well against Hull and grabbing the assist for the Oscar goal, Jose got rid of him, absolutely shocking move. As for Lukaku, I'm glad we got rid of him, his attitude stinks and I can't stand his football ability.

This is not an attack on the present Manager ( the best we have ever had, I go back to the Tommy Doc era) just an observation on the last 18 months of Mourinho's reign....lost the plot

I included the performance added fees, not the initial fee. The Salah deal included personal AND team performance. He should sack his agent :)

Oh do feck off.

That the trouble with glory hunters no sense of belonging.

I'm confused by the logic that being upset by the departure of players whom we shouldn't have sold makes a fan a "plastic".

But I understand this is one of those sore points, people just don't really want to think about.

What's that old saying, 'No player is bigger than the club,' and for me the you have to weigh up the pros and cons at the time and things like the players wishes with players such as Czech and Matic.

I bet there is a contingent of Arsenal fans saying it all went wrong when Ashley Cole came to SB.

The important thing is despite these player losses we won still won the top trophies and are still competing on all fronts.

You ccould make an argument that Lukaku and KdB weren't given enough of a chance but in my view Salah was poor here, Cuardrado-esque and was rightfully sold.

If we're talking about Mourinho mistakes look no further tham selling the Special Juan and putting his faith in Oscar instead. That's his real crime.

And just look at the way Mourinho treated Matic. Shunted him out the door as a free makeweight in another transfer, and had to spend £20m plus to get him back.

Danny Sturridge too. Mourinho booted him out the door and a couple of seasons later he was one of the top scorers in the league. Imagine the difference his 21 league goals would have made for us in 2013-14. Damn you Mourinho.

And his recent behaviour is the worst. In the 2016-17 season he gave league starts to zero players under the age of 24 until the Watford game after the league was won. Typical Mourinho win at all costs attitude, never thinking about the future.

And look at the promising talent he's forced out of the club just this season. Ake, Chalobah, Traore, Bamford, Solanke, Atsu...and seemingly the next will be Musonda, Kenedy, Zouma, RLC, Brown, Aina, Abraham, Boga...either rotting on the bench or in the shop window on loan.

Damn that Mourinho. What is his problem?

Or maybe...just maybe...when a pattern like that covers multiple managers...the issue isn't the managers? We buy loads of prospects, and tell our managers they need to win at all costs or face the sack. So they don't play the prospects and the board sell them rather than having their value drop.

No problem with Sturridge, he is Mr. Sick Note.

Agree Traore would have been useful as a potential second striker. Would he have waited for his chance though?

Chalobah broken kneecap. Bamford not even a Boro regular just now.

Agree the Matic coming and going was bizarre with JM claiming we were buying back a more experienced player.

Conte hasn't brought through many youngsters, Moses has been the only regular one, the others very occasional.

Not sure how salah can be put in the same bracket as kdb and lukaku. He’s had a decent season at Roma and all of a sudden he’s worth that???? As said above, quadrado springs to mind. Apart from robben I don’t recall a chelsea player being sold and going on to win more?? All of the players we’ve sold, and let’s face it there have been plenty, I don’t believe we’ve made many mistakes.

And how do we know they are told to win at all cost's? It's just a simplistic media driven notion that has brainwashed even Chelsea fans. I think Roman's thought process runs a lot deeper than that, the performance's and direction of the squad defiently get put into account, which is why Carlo was sacked despite a 2nd place finish and rumour has it his fate was decided even when we had a chance at the title.

Oh and btw out of those young player's you have listed, only Tammy, Zouma and Ake have potential to be good enough for us.

The biggest clue, for me, is the way we sack managers as soon as they stop winning. Even if our managers aren't told it, they are well aware of the reality of the club.

That's your opinion. Thanks. But, just like those who "always knew" KDB was going to be a huge star, and those who "just know" that Musonda is going to be a huge star, the chances are that none of those 3 will make it at the club, even if you think they could make it in your opinion. One has already left in fact, and the other two are on loan. Not because they aren't good enough to ever make it here (I think every player I mentioned was good enough to make it here in some capacity), but because we are churning young players, and we have been doing it over multiple managers. So maybe, just maybe, it's not the managers. And that's the point I'm making.

Non of those players have demonstrated they are anywhere near good enough to play for Chelsea.
