Callum Hudson-Odoi

In fairness he is our best attacker in terms of chances created per minute (by quite some distance). Since he's been gone we look markedly less creative, just look at todays game

Can't help but agree to an extent CHO whilst not perfect does offer another option for TT. Unlike Pulisic, when we play CHO at wingback he seems a lot more comfortable there. Whether it's as an inside forward or a wingback CHO does add an extra attacking dimension to the team. He's been missed if I'm being honest.

Tuchel forgot about him. He also forgot about Chalobah and suddenly when there was no option Chalobah was playing again. Tammy said he did everything right in training and it didn't matter as Tuchel was just picking who he liked anyway?

Cho has been injured for the last 2 months. He's not been forgotten

Ok thanks for the correction. Is he still injured?

Yes, but nobody cares he is injured.

Concern I have is that he is regularly injured.

He's a young player with lots of potential. If he stayed fit this season he could have got ahead of Werner.

He reminds me of Vini JR before he became he current Vini JR.

There's something wrong with him though, either physically or mentally. Hopefully next season we see him kick on, I'm not giving up on him just yet.

Especially when there's so many other players who we have who just aren't going to kick on.

Vini Jr gets constant game time which is why I am advocating a 1-2 year loan.

If he stayed fit here he'd get more than enough minutes. RLC has managed it this season which no one would have predicted.

Doubtful. He needs to be playing at a club regularly we he can make mistakes and doesn't get dropped.

One of the few things I was uber critical of TT for was dropping him after the United game.

In the Autumn he was the main constant (attacking wise) in what was our best performances for years. Yes he wasn't exactly scoring for fun but he was making a clear positive impact on our game. Then after he did get more minutes he made a telling impact at Villa and against Spurs before he got injured.

He is always up there with the top players when it comes to creative metrics and has an excellent understanding with James (which in and of itself pushes him above Pulisic in my eyes).

He'd have over 2k minutes this season if he stayed fit which is comparable to a lot of our loanees in the PL.

Maybe he'd benefit from not being dropped for his confidence, but is there a bigger "drop" than being sent on loan to a club that's either fighting relegation or fighting mid table?

Can't say for sure what's better for him. RLC has improved fighting for his spot vs his loan last year for example. But you might be right.

Trouble is, we need players like him next year. We can't ship ALL our attacking players.

He's a creative player but that is it. Predictable in his attacking play and an rubbish finisher. These are elements in his game he needs to develop and he won't be able to do that here.

I disagree about Ruben. He hasn't improved at all, he's the same inconsistent player that offers nothing in the final third. He's surrounded by better players than at Fulham so he will obviously look better.

For me, in an ideal world we give CHO a 2 year loan deal at Everton (should they survive). CHO and Banks on the wings could be promising and I have more faith in Lampard in developing attacking players than Tuchel atm. Ruben I'd keep as a utility option than once his contract is up next year get rid. Biggest issue with me is his confidence and this club has been stricken with it the past several years.

I disagree about sending him to Lampard, he didn't play him even when we had no other fit wingers (imagine the flack Tuchel would have got for that pre Trevoh's promotion).

Wasn't he still nursing a torn Achilles during that first season?

I was referring more to the second. Pulisic and Ziyech were out at the start and Lampard chose to play Mount there.

Ruben has gone from being a player who we weren't even sure would be in the squad to someone who has been starting games recently. Is he good enough for us as a first team player next year, no, he's a decent utility player in the squad. But he wasn't even seen as that at the start of the season.

Callum has loads of issues. But he's 21. Salah used to be a rubbish finisher. He gets into positions and he makes chances. If he stays fit and is hungry next season we could see him kick on. I am personally certain we won't see ziyech or pulisic score 20 goals / 35+ GA in a season for us (or any PL team), but I'm not certain on that with CHO just yet and I do think he could do that here. (But I do have the same fatigue that I'm just fed up of not seeing us create that player).

I'd wager good money that CHO hasn't been that productive at any level he has ever played at ... including pre-injury ...

I think he has a goody eye for a pass in the final third but that is genuinely it. Predictable in his attacking play and an absolute dog sh*te finisher. No pace anymore either considering his injury.

He should tailor his game to becoming a creative attacking player, but he has to go on loan to develop.

In the 30 games he played in youth / efl trophy cups he scored 20 goals and 8 assists.

Better than I thought at the club youth level then.

His goals per appearance as an England U-17 international was a fair bit worse than the other forwards in the world cup winning U-17 squad mind you ...

Yeah I mean I don't actually think he will kick on and be that player, our next hazard, who wins us games regularly. But I just think he's the only one of our current wide players who has a chance to be.

No way. CHO lost burst of pace due to injuries, which is one of Vini’s biggest strengths. Vini also has world class dribbling, Hudson Odoi can’t even beat a man.

I might agree with you if you’re talking about CHO under Sarri but now, no chance.

Ey? He was pretty much unstoppable at youth level. It's why he got in the first team at a younger age the rest even had their first loan.

His last league appearance he beat a man and ran half the length of the pitch to see up Ziyech. While I appreciate a highlights reel doesn't always tell the full picture the first couple of clips here clearly shows he still got it in him.

Also on that video is examples the the good/mature decision making I'm often referencing.

I'd be inclined to agree if it was said he's underwhelmed scaled for his potential when arriving in the first team but I can't agree with the general consensus that he's showed little.
