Callum Hudson-Odoi

Featured Replies

Scott Sinclair never got many chances here at this club back in the day. But he looked more dangerous in those few appearances than Hudson Odoi does.

Was really bad tonight…we shouldn’t forget that chelsea’s best run of form came during a period he was a regular as a left 10…but he has to make more of his opportunities…played in so many times and rarely took his full back on, just doing a simple pass.

Should've taken the 40m from Bayern. Guess we have been scarred by selling KDB that we now sell who we shouldn't and keep who we should sell.

I was just thinking the same thing.

I am not seeing anything to suggest he has a higher ceiling than what we are seeing right now. This is his normal level. He's a winger that can't beat a man, won't cross, and he definitely can't finish. Other than that, he's a world beater !

He's not even that fast.

Yeah pundits were saying he is in tuchel team because he is fast. I have been watching him closely now:

1 never saw him run pas his man with speed.

2 he rather pas back the taking a risk forward.

3 if even there was a teammate in de a good scoring  opportunity he rather shoots himself then to pass to them.

4 never see he dribbles his man.

5 can’t tackle or close down

6 bad finishing and no cool head in front of the goal.

The art of wing play appears to be dead. Well it is with our wingers anyway.

A winger who never actually runs at and beats a full-back is as useful as the proverbial chocolate fireguard.

Shame, as I watched CHO a lot when he played for the Academy and England U19 and he looked one hell of a prospect - usually the best player on the pitch. But the step up to senior level, and the injury and Munich must be looking on, glad that they dodged a bullet.

It's been an issue for a while at the club. Even when Hazard was here, we would often play it to the wing only to pass it 5 yards backwards. It looks like Hudson-Odoi has picked up those bad habits from Hazard and Willian. For me, it's unnacceptable for a winger to not run at their fall back and provide crosses into the box if they get the opportunity, and our wingers do this all of the time. The only reason why Hazard was forgiven for doing it was because he was world class at exloding into life from nothing.

I'm seeing Azpilicueta provide better wing play than the likes of Hudson-Odoi and he's 32 and doesn't have the legs anymore.

I hate talking up Liverpool, but you only have to look at their attack to see where we go wrong. If they get to the edge of the oppositions box, they are crossing that ball or they will have Salah and Mane running at defenders, you will rarely see them make that kind of progress and then pass it all of the way back to the keeper to start all over again.

It's such a senseless and cowardly tactic. You don't win games by passing it back to the keeper from creative positions, and if you're not brave enough to try and make things happen, then you have no right playing for a club with ambitions as big as ours.

Oh for the days Nibsy of, Pat "we were not worthy"Nevin.

5st 6lbs soaking wet. Legs like pencils. A cool hairstyle and footballing intelligence from another planet. What an amazing, awesome privilege to watch him jinking his way down the line. Left foot, right foot? Nae bother. Beat his man with either foot and from a standing start. Then would go back and do it again. And he could carry a cross better than Jesus.

Ziyech, Pulisic, CHO? Not fit to lace the wee man's boots.

And cross the ball to either Speedie or Dixon who would then get in a fight over who should win the header.

Got no bottle, no moves and definitely no finishing.

Sadly fair to say. He has been playing like a coward of late, not willing to attack a defender always playing it safe.

He's a driving range pro to me.  Great on the training ground, ineffective in matches.  My boiling point was reached when he took a free kick against City where the ball never really left the ground and hit the first defender.  30 seconds later he had an unchallenged crossing opportunity on his left foot that wasn't difficult but it sailed out of play.

He's got age on his side, but not a lot more based on stats.

The biggest mistake was keeping him around all these years. Loan system did wonders for our best youngsters and CHO basically wasted the last few years instead of going somewhere where he could play regularly and improve.

On current form he shouldn't be anywhere near the first team.

So true, we are really lacking in this department.

He looked so promising at youth level but I honestly think he hasn't improved one bit in the last couple of seasons.

Is he the kind of character that would stay behind after training practicing his shooting, whipped in free kicks or crosses or is he the first out the car park at Cobham??

Saka, Foden, Greenwood etc.. seem to keep improving as they get older and are now way in front of him in the England pecking order.

When there is any one on one situation he should be looking to glide past them not turn back and play the safest pass possible.

I was hoping he would be the kind of explosive winger who gives full backs nightmares and eventually they have to consider doubling up on him which would create spaces for others at the very least.

Sadly it doesn't look like happening.

It's not too late for him but I feel like time is running out for him at Chelsea.

CHO is just a frustrating player. So much quality but way too timid.

Attack your man and attack the far post. I think he need to watch video of puli or sterling scoring gazillion of tap in just by doing this.
