December 29, 20214 yr Bloody hell, all this vitriol after a single bad performance? He really is the new Willian.
December 29, 20214 yr Still our best winger. At least things happen when he's on the pitch rather than nothing, square, 5 yard passes.

I have some recollection of him playing a key role in three goals against Aston Villa - what was that, three days ago? I also seem to recall him having COVID and only being fit to play for an hour three days ago - I think that was just before he was forced to play 160 minutes in four days...
December 29, 20214 yr Still very young, but he isn't really learning. Stats don't lie - 66 PL appearances for Chelsea (unsure how many starts vs. sub), and 4 goals. 1 goal every 17 games doesn't cut it for me, and his assists wouldn't really offset that. Needs to improve end product and decision making. Edited December 29, 20214 yr by PhilH930
December 29, 20214 yr Wingers are usually frustratingly inconsistent and he is no different to most in that respect. I still reckon he is worth persisting with. He has age on his side, and has done pretty well when asked to cover as a wing back. A better option than Pulisic at present.

He was bad today, very bad. That chance he mucked up was awful. We however are far to quick to jump on individuals for poor displays, even after good ones. Casing point Jorgi still gets slammed despite having a very go season, while playing with back pain and having to play basically every game cause Kante and Kova cannot stay fit.
December 30, 20214 yr Former blues Poyet and Aluko both having quite a pop at CHO, blaming him for the dropped points: https://metro.co.uk/2021/12/29/chelsea-gus-poyet-eniola-aluko-slam-callum-hudson-odoi-brighton-draw-15838709/?fbclid=IwAR2RTVxGjJ0jg2DwCPtUZQvfhudAhtimbHuxae4DrqIAVoL6r0kR0pg4yhU

He'll have a one or two decent games, then fade have a sh*te spell where he can only make the bench. Even yesterday, although fans are raving, I don't think he took anyone on and beat them convincingly and that's his problem for me. As a winger he needs to be taking on the full backs and beating them a good % of the time; as much as I don't like Sterling, it's like night and day between him and CHO and that's why Sterling makes the England team. Robben in his day was excellent and even if you go back far enough, I remember watching Charlie Cooke leave defenders on their arse even though he wasn't the fastest, Best did it too they'd take defenders; CHO is nowhere near the calibre of either of them at the moment. ' Charlie Cooke leave defenders on their arse ' Ah what beautiful blissful memories. Proper footballers, proper football and wonderful days out.

For years, all i hear is 'One bad game ' He's still young' ' He just needs time' He is never going to make it big time and this sentiment is holding Chelsea back. Not just him, quite a few others need shipping out.
December 30, 20214 yr Didn't catch this before now but that's a clear handball by the Brighton player. And it's an obvious penalty that was not given.
December 30, 20214 yr I was a big fan in that season under Sarri but that massive contract he recieved after handing in a transfer request and contract shenigans really left a bad taste on him. Young yes, potential maybe but one 1 goal in 17 is not good enough and i am not a fan of his attitude.

December 30, 20214 yr My biggest issue with him is how one footed he is. He cannot even take a touch with his left (almost) just makes him too predictable
December 30, 20214 yr Dammit, that handball is as obvious as it can get. How in f**king hell did no one see it until now? Its mind boggling!
December 30, 20214 yr And certainly no one can fault CHO for a good pass that would have led to a goal, and that was only intercepted due to a super-obvious handball that was not spotted!

Doesn't matter who we have on the pitch, the passes are mostly 5 yards sideways and backwards and poncing around the 18 yard box. His job as a winger is to take the full back on and beat him a good % of the time....whether its confidence or ability I don't know, but he hasn't got either at the moment.

Those were the days Kev, when footballers were footballers; that 70 Cup Final was the epitome of how football was played in those days. No rolling around after a crunching tackle and they didn't even get paid very much. But as we are comparing wingers, Eddie Gray was brilliant for Leeds in both finals and he got clobbered more than a few times, got up and got on with it...unlike todays generation....maybe CHO should watch a few clips of Gray, Best, Cooke and others as to how to take full backs on and beat them.

In Russia we have a saying that can be roughly translated as 'Bad dancer always complains about his bollocks getting in the way of his dance moves'. That's what these sort of statements make me think of. Of course there's a bit of a knee jerk reaction after his last night's abysmal display, but we've witnessed CHO being average for a good part of his Chelsea career so far. We can talk about him playing 160 minutes in four days or we can remember how many points his horrible finishing cost us in terms of points even this season alone. He still looks like a youngster pulled out of the academy to make up numbers in the first team. This is his fourth season and he looks exactly the same, with the same flaws and no sign of improvement on decision making or end product.
December 30, 20214 yr Exactly. And look at Mount, he’s made an impact straight away and cemented himself as one of the best players. When Hudson Odoi broke through, not many people have heard of Mason Mount. Mount only needed a season to show everyone what he is, Hudson Odoi had four years, and has he really done anything? Please show me one game where he changed the game and got us the win. Surely that’s not too much to ask for, 1 good game in 4 years?

If Pulisic does that against even Cheaterfield he'd get a 10 page eulogy. To be fair, fully fit and in form Pulisic is still a much better player than CHO. Granted, he's rarely fit and most times gets re-injured before he can regain his form but I'd take Captain America over Callum every time, if I had to choose. Puli's no wing back or false nine, where he's forced to play recently due to the squad problems, that's true, but I've seen enough of him in the past (last CL campaign, for example) to feel that if it wasn't for his fitness issues he could have bad a brilliant career at the club.
