Lyon finished 8th they have been sh*t all season, also they play a back 4, he might be slightly better as a wingback. At least he seems like a good character and TT really likes him for some reason the only thing i remember from emerson is his goal against atletico madrid. Not really a great defender but technically decent Edited June 12, 20224 yr by azpi28

To put him in arguably the most crucial position in TT's system would be bordering on sabotage.
June 12, 20224 yr i would prefer Maatsen too, hopefully Chilwell will be able to play most of our games

The one area in City's team where you probably say they could do with an upgrade. Especially with what is going on with Mendy and generally Mendy isn't good enough anyway.

Not sure they need an upgrade Cancelo is a brilliant LB but can also play RB, especially with Walker's injury issues, he often plays there. Zinchenko is decent but no way near the same quality as Cucurella. Ake is a CB who can play LB. Either way it is a position where ideally, Pep would never have him playing. He may be on the move this summer also as really, he is surplus to requirements. If City get Cucurella, they have two top fullbacks in each position. Cancelo and Walker for RB, Cucurella and Cancelo for LB.

Cancelo and Walker for RB, Cucurella and Cancelo for LB. For a couple years now pep has asked one of his fb to sit more either as midfielder (Zinchenko, delph) or as third cb (walker). When you move cancelo as rb, you probably don't want him as rcb so you will ask your lb to play as such hence Ake n Zinchenko are more than capable backup
June 13, 20224 yr The time to sell Emerson was right after he played in the European Championship Semis and Final ... I suspect he'll hang about like a nasty smell until the end of his contract and leave on a free. Christ knows why Tuchel seems to rate him ... Edited June 13, 20224 yr by Sexyfootball
June 13, 20224 yr Sadly we have too many average players on high wages where its impossible to sell them until their contract expires. Still feeling the affects of that Conte disaster transfer window. Edited June 13, 20224 yr by Sconnie Blue
June 13, 20224 yr CHO needs to go on loan. Personally I don't think he'll ever be good enough but he deserves a chance to prove himself somewhere where he'll have plenty of playing time and less pressure to deliver in every game.

I would be cashing in if we can. Send him on loan and I'll wager he will become another of our perpetual loanees whose value diminishes every 6 months until we end selling him to West Brom in three years time for £5m.

Same way he got Grealish when he did not really need him. He will want two quality players in both position. Ake is not someone you will want as LB for a top team. If Cancelo was to get an injury, Pep would be cursing not buying another LB. Also with all the comps they are in, I see it as a position he defo would want to strengthen. Walker is getting on also and like I say, will be rotated often so Cancelo will play RB a lot. Cucurella is young and only getting better.

City is in in the market for a dm to replace fernandinho and they are pretty much done.

But what team would spend anything decent on him given how little he's played, how long he's been out, not to mention his big wages? I thought somewhere on loan he may play enough to drum up some interest at least, and our wage bill could take a breather in the meantime.
June 14, 20224 yr Even putting my opinion of him to one side, our other attackers not named Mount and Havertz should be out of the door before his future even gets locked at.

Is it him or he isn’t getting adequately coached to reach his potential? Bayern & Dortmund; 2 clubs notorious for nurturing young talents have retained interest in him the last 2 summers, surely that means they see something in him. Now if our forward line was firing on all cylinders and he was the exception I would agree with this, but 6 forward players have been abysmal. Surely at some point the finger should be pointed somewhere else.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record last season he was 3rd highest in the league with big chances created behind KDB and Grealish.
