It would be really nice if CHO was willing to take on his man and whip a ball across, like he did for Mounts goal, more often. Cause none of the other wide players are willing to do that, and Cal can do it bit far too often he plays it safe and plays the ball back

Hopefully this gives him the confidence to keep doing this.  Read an interesting article that this could be his breakout season following full muscle recovery from his injury.  I know we're all waiting to see that, and would be great if he just clicked. Big test, and so want him to succeed.

He's 21 and you already know that?  Ridiculous statement IMO.

Of course I don’t know for certain but he’s been playing at this level for 3-4 seasons and has never pushed on. He doesn’t score goals and doesn’t have the blistering pace required to be a top level winger. He’s a half decent crosser but not a gifted one either. At this level his skill set is far more suited to a wing back role, sort of like victor moses.

Honestly, I think CHO has been a victim of his own hype. Expectations were unreasonably high for such a raw, young player, and all the fallout after Bayern Munich's failed attempt to poach him didn't help either. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever see the player he could have been if not for the injury. However, he is still surprisingly young (considering how long he's been around) and lost a good year of his career so far to the injury, so I think it's still too early to judge if he'll be a first-choice starter for us. In the meantime, he's already a decent player to have in the squad as a rotation option.

If I had to make a prediction, I'd say he'll stay with us for a couple more seasons before becoming frustrated at the lack of starting opportunities, then end up downgrading to somebody like West Ham or Spuds and becoming a very capable, mid-table winger.  I hope he proves me wrong, though.

Interesting that CHO was left out of the match day squad today....Not a good look for him given he was talking up an early start in pre season.

Was he injured though? Marcos was not and is about to join Barca, apparently Timo was not and is said to be close to returning to RBL.

Any truth in the CHO to Newcastle rumors perhaps? @Argo you heard anything?

Make sense, should go to Leicester since they are short on wingers.

Was hoping we'd offer Pulisic to Leicester to knock 10/15m off the Fofana fee

But they probably wouldn't want him.

Cho going does make sense for all parties unfortunately but we do absolutely have to bring in another forward if he goes, we probably have to bring in one anyway.  I expect him to perform well if he does go he's got talent but I do think he's lost a step after his injury and not had the game time to figure out how to adjust his game.

On one hand it's depressing given Pulisic survives instead and i genuinely believe he will shine with consistent gametime like he did last Autumn but on the other i feel Southampton will be a really good loan for him.

If Timo is going, CHO going and possibly Ziyech too who do we intend to bring in?

Would leave us with Havertz, Broja, Sterling, Mason and Pulisic.

Rightly or wrongly Gallagher will probably take one of the front 3 positions.

Hmm could be interesting, especially if it becomes more of a 1 and 2 than a 3.

Gallagher

Sterling/Havertz

broja.

Questionable whether  that actually weakens us though. Arguably just fresh faces to add depth could still be an improvement on those players.

Gutted this never worked out for him here, the contract thing then the terrible achilles injury seem to have destroyed his confidence on the ball, physically and mentally.

Good luck to him where he ends up, I hope he regains all he's lost.

I just hope we can sell him rather than a loan deal which is just delaying the inevitable. I never rated CHO highly, before and after the injury. Thought we were nuts not biting off Bayern's hand when they wanted to buy him.

He has a bit of ability but nothing out of the ordinary and he lacks any sort of spark that you want from a winger. Very predictable and easy to defend against. He is the next Carlton Cole.
