Games Hudson-Odoi started last season : Games Chalobah started last season : Seeing as we didn't lose a game in which they started (ignoring penalty shootouts), you'd think they'd be the first names on the team sheet ! No idea who does data analytics at CFC but they are missing some very important observations to pass on to the manager 🙂 Edited August 22, 20223 yr by Sexyfootball

Both starting against the likes of Liverpool, Utd, Spurs, Juve etc.

Both starting against the likes of Liverpool, Utd, Spurs, Juve etc. Start CHO left, Sterling on right (or vice versa), sign Aubameyang for the middle, Chalobah at RCB, and we've saved £130M on Gordon and Fofana just for starters ... I'd bet money that Gordon and Fofana won't look any better in the team than CHO and Chalobah as well.

August 23, 20223 yr And now bad news for @Argo looks like CHO is set for Bayer: https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/chelsea-fc-transfer-rumours-news/2022/8/23/23317908/callum-hudson-odoi-misses-chelsea-training-amid-bayer-leverkusen-interest-report

However, let's just say he does well playing as lw for leverkusen. What is the chances that Tuchel will play him as lw with us?

Weird how most people in football can see it but the people at the top can't. I don't mind the Fofana deal too much but the Gordon on is the worst transfer i've ever seen us linked with for value.

I rewatched some of our earlier game last season to analyze Lukaku problems and CHO imo was a key component why we looked so good in those games.
August 25, 20223 yr Bayer Leverkusen is a great move for him also living in a different country, with a different language and being on his own will help him mature
August 25, 20223 yr He will kill it in Germany, him and Diaby be difficult to defend for most German teams. Just hope for his sake, their defence don't concede 2-3 every game.
August 25, 20223 yr I`m not sure why people think he didnt get a chance under Tuchel, he gave our left winger loads of opportunities to show he`s not a right back....

August 29, 20223 yr Hope it works out well for CHO in Germany but I can see us benefiting from an increased transfer fee at the end of the loan rather than him returning to the fold.
August 29, 20223 yr The fact that a club like Leverkusen are interested in him given his lack of game time for us shows how promising he is, if he can learn to take players on again (or at least improve his finishing) then he could still be a very good player for us

He's lost some pace since his injury and he has to adapt his game to compensate, in the youth teams he was blisteringly quick as well as skillful, now he's not quick enough to lose defenders easily and needs to use his skills more. He absolutely does have the skills but he needs time to figure out how to adjust his game and he'll get it on loan. Personally I'd rather keep CHO here than the deadwood wingers we're keeping but I think this loan could do him the world of good and he could come back ready to perform for us in the long term.
August 29, 20223 yr Odoi has neither the skill, creativity, attitude, or commitment to be a top class football player. I'm disappointed he is being loaned out as I was hoping for a sale. My hope is he does ok in a league that allowed Werner and Havertz to look like a class act and it allows us to get an over the odds offer for him. He is arguably less of an asset than either Pulisic or Ziyech and that's pretty damming.

Had he gone out on loan or even sold to Bayern with a buy back clause would have been best for him. Still we'll see how he does in a league that have no real defenders..
August 29, 20223 yr When TT first joined, Odoi was almost the pet project. This has taken a bad turn for him, but he needs to focus and make an impact. I still believe he has much to offer.

Pretty much where I'm at. If we had the Duff/Robben/Cole, prime Hazard still here to play with Sterling or even the Hazard/Willian/Pedro trio I could probably begrudgingly accept the situation but while we're one injury away from Pulisic being a starter again it's inexcusable. I know people counter his metrics I mention with "look with the eyes", well the eyes still put him above Pulisic and Ziyech in many many aspects and the eyes also told me he was the best attacking player during our best spell last season. Also out of our current options he's probably the best balance to Sterling AND has natural chemistry with the player we should be building the team around. Edited August 30, 20223 yr by Argo

Short term we have to put up with Ziyech and Pulisic, and hope they are not needed too much. Long term it's best for us and CHO for him to go on loan now and get himself sorted out, he's still 21yo and could be back in our team next season or the one after.
August 30, 20223 yr I am big fan of odoi and this is a good move for him. But I am afraid he will do well in Bundesliga as lw for leverkusen and he come back to us and Tuchel will play him as wb.
August 30, 20223 yr I thought that with Pulisic and Ziyech being a bit out of favor with Tuchel that CHO would get his breakthrough season this time, but it's probably even better if he comes back later once we changed our style a bit, he'll be more secure in himself and we'll hopefully be more polished in our attack so he'll fit right in.
