Congratulations to France for winning it and also a well done to Croatia.

I was surprised and pleased England made it to the Semi Finals and hoped the Final would be Belgium v England.

I enjoyed this World Cup far, far more, than I ever thought I would.

Best game for me was the Belgium v Brazil one. Shading the Portugal v Spain one.

We speak the same language, Erskblue!

The greatest day of my life !!! Being french, that day will be forever remembered as my greatest souvenir as a football fan (with our UCL 2012 win of course ;) ) !!!! I've been partying until 1:00 am ... Since the game ended at 6:50 pm, it's been a solid 6 hours of party antics haha !!! Les champs were unbelievable ... the bar I was in with friends went mental !!! Unbelievable game !!! A 4-2 win ... Last time there's been as many goals was in 1966. Last time there's been more was in 1958. Mbappé finishing with 4 goals, one in the final. Truly, this guy is progressing at such a fast rate !!!! Already one more World Cup than CR7 and Messi!!! Unbelievable !!! France suffered against an excellent side !!! Croatia really made us suffer !!!! Thank God we got Mbappé upfront for our devastating counter attacks !!! Allez les bleus !!!

ps : The World Cup is coming home ;) !!! Jules Rimet created it and was french ;) !

Toutes mes félicitations, Londonisblue!

Dommage pour nous, mais ... je crois, c'était deux centimètres.

Also not forgetting Del Boy's attempt at copying French Perrier water with Peckham Spring Water !.

Because he is easier to get? And also pretty damn good? How on earth is it hard to fathom why a team would want Hazard?

Because his goal return is average, not even in comparison to Ronaldo but any decent attacking player? Because he can easily down tools for a whole season in the peak of his career to spite a manager? Because you're paying near world record money for a version of Willian who's good for 7 months instead of 2?

Sorry you French and Belgians but................

Cycling's coming home from the pharmacy !!        again.

I find it very interesting that Froome  wins the big races over and over again and then we  find that, just like Sir Lord Bradley Wiggins, he has such bad asthma that he has to take exceedingly high doses of Salbutamol/Ventolin, and the fact that this massively increases his performance levels is just an unintended consequence.  However, having been caught out by drugs testing, but cleared of any wrong-doing because he is British and "A WINNER", he has to do this years Tour clean.  His asthma must be incredibly bad,  because appears to be a bit pants without his "medicine"

Pants?? lmfao !!!!!! He's just won the previous two GT's in Spain and Italy whilst all of this was hanging over him, WADA on one shoulder the UCI on the other, he then turns up in France and puts in a performance better than everyone bar two (so far), the man is a bloody legend.

25 minutes ago, yorkleyblue said:

UCI and WADA cleared a British winner, both international organisations with zero affiliation to Great Britain.

Yes, he's won the previous two  - the benefits of the specific drugs don't immediately wear off.  If you have enhanced your lung capacity artificially over many years, the effects won't vanish over night.  If I took enough speed,  I could win the f**king thing.  Legend, my arse.  Just another one who found a way to cheat the system and got found out.

If you truly have asthma, why on earth would you take up a sport that is one of the MOST taxing on the pulmonary system?

If, however, you do a sport in which increased lung function and capacity  give you a huge advantage,  why on earth would you not claim to have a condition that allowed you to take MASSIVE doses of a drug that hugely increase lung function and oxygen take-up?

You might not have been around in the 70's when Boots the Chemist had a wonderful thing on the shelf called Bronchipax. You took one three times a day for asthma and similar conditions.  OR,  you took a packet of 6 in a pint of rough cider and you could run forever.  All the way home from Compton Dando village hall disco if necessary.

Wiggins was the same, getting parcels delivered from odd pharmaceutical companies  in the middle of races.  Cycling has long been riddled with drugs, and this is just another example of trying to get round the rules.

I honestly don't know why they don't just remove any restrictions and let the chemists decide the outcome.

Someone trying to ride a cycle tour like Le Tour de France or Giro d'Italia must be mad to do so without PED

Drug detection is always one step behind in testing for new drugs, so I'm not convinced by anybody's negative test results.
