He looks like Bakayoko in YouTube at least. Same skillset and style. You could mix those two...

Lord, have mercy.

If you have long injury, if you haven't played for a very long time, you are free to join Chelsea. We'll give you all the time you need, then we'll see you can't play and we'll turn you into a starter. Not sure a big football club or the Red Cross.

Because Baba Rhaman is pants.

Conte doesn't seem to rate him. I get the feeling that with Conte you get a very small window to audition, and you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Moses and Christiansen two examples of players that absolutely grabbed there chances with both hands and haven't looked back. Moses has had bad games but seems once you have that equity built up conte is going to forgive the odd bad performance.

Anyone else think it's odd we're about to send a left back on loan because he is recovering from an ACL only to buy another player recovering from the same injury which happened more recently?

Not really. Baba didn’t show a lot prior to his injury, where as this guy did last season. Even if baba turns out to be a worldie, he’s still our player.

Weren't you saying the same thing about Salah?

Yeah and he was.

He was never going to make it at Chelsea and was almost always the worst player on the pitch for us whenever he played.

He left, got regular playing time he would never have got here for a team not as good as Chelsea, and has now moved to another team not as good as Chelsea.

Baba Rhaman was nearly always poor when he played, went on loan back to Germany and was in and out of the team for a side that's distinctly average. He's done his ACL, needs regular football, which he won't get here and will never be suited to more than a mid table club because he's got woeful positioning awareness.

Let's be fair here FC, Salah is a sloppy player but he's no doubt one of the best players right now in the PL, he would walk into our side at the moment.

Granted he was very poor in his second season here at Chelsea, but he was reserved to cup games and was shunned out of any first-team football. I think Jose got it wrong, twice, with him and KDB. Now JT did make a good point on Sky recently, he said KDB and Salah were not going to improve the Chelsea team at the time, he was right. But nobody really expects youngsters to fill the void right away, you have to give them time and be patient. KDB & Salah were both 23 at the time, if we had played them regularly and made sacrifices we may have ended up with two very good players, the potential was clearly there, evidently as they're now two of the best players in the Premier League.

I'm very dismissive of Bakayoko but sometimes I look back on what we did to Salah & KDB and maybe it's a good thing to play him and be patient, or maybe not who knows. Regardless we should just admit we got Salah & KDB wrong and move on. Nothing more too it, hindsight can be a real bitch but so can Jose Mourinho.

If we’d done that though we may not have won a league title and league cup double in 14-15. We also won the title last season too so although we may have lost two talented youngsters who have turned out to be sh*t hot players we won trophies without them.

KDB showed signs of being a good player but Salah didn't, not for me anyway. He was like a dog chasing a tennis ball... Complete speed merchant with little to no composure in the final third.

So when you say play them regularly and make sacrifices, what sacrifices are we talking about here?  Giving up the two league titles we've in the last four seasons?

I'm not denying that Salah is having a good season but two and a half years is an eternity in football and there's no way he'd have become the player he is now by staying at Chelsea because he simply wasn't good enough to get any playing time, especially ahead of the likes of Hazard, Willian, Schurrle and Oscar who were all better than he was.

Willian played near 38 PL games and I thought that was his worst season in a Chelsea shirt, Salah should and could have had more playing time. KDB did very well on loan and played well in the Hull game when he came on, even grabbed an assist. He could've rotated with Oscar, who's performance definitely declined just after we got rid of KDB.

I mean, these two players right now are incredibly good, it's not even feasible to think that couldn't have happened at Chelsea when you look at how good they are now in a matter of just two years. I think we certainly could have won the league with the way Oscar & Willian played that season after January, they were both very bad.

It is what it is, maybe you're right who knows, we did get two league titles, but we've also gifted our rivals two great players who could have been ours.

We'll see which one was more costly over the years, but even then it doesn't really matter, it's pointless to just stare at the what-ifs all the time, we need to move forward. Signings like Palmieri might be just that.

Salah was pretty bad though. All pace and no end product, he was also pretty light weight aswell. Maybe a we should've given him a shot after his loans but he wasn't good enough at the time.

I think kdb showed enough technical ability that we should've either given him more opportunities here, or only let him leave on loan.

I can't see baba going on to improve to the point we would be regretful not have him. He hasn't shown any signs of being a special player so far, and I don't see that changing in the future.

We don’t know but what we do know is we’ve won two league titles since they left and I think people forget that. It’s not easy to win a league title.

I'm not denying that, but getting rid of KDB & Salah and winning two league titles is not mutually exclusive.

As I pointed out Willian & Oscar were terrible that season after January when we got rid of Mata & KDB. KDB definitely could have had a role on the side but Jose obviously didn't rate him highly enough. I think it was definitely a mistake on Jose's part.

14-15 season was Hazards best season he's had in a Chelsea shirt, he literally carried us from January to May.

I didn’t say it was but what I am saying is what’s factual.

I don’t disagree that we maybe made a mistake. We were looking short term and not long term.

Well yes, but what's also factual is KDB & Salah being two of the best players in the league at the moment.

The argument is what was the best decision and what could have been, it's a tricky one but when I look at it I can't help but think we made two big mistakes and I don't think they would have badly affected our two title wins at all.

I understand your points and I don’t necessarily disagree. While I do think it’s a bit sh*t they’ve gone on to do well I just think with what we’ve achieved without them was so good that I can’t be too mad.

I don't get angry about it Bobby believe me, what's done is done regardless, you make mistakes in football. We are very lucky to have some of the players we have, Hazard chose us out of the top 6 teams.

Like I said to FC, pointless going on about the what ifs really, in this situation it doesn't help us. Maybe we could do with being more patient? We'll see how that turns out with Bakayoko who we've been very patient with. Maybe it might not be worth it.

Yeah you just never know do you? I would like to see ya make a good attempt at bedding some youth in the team. I think if we’re gonna be looking to spend less these days then we really need to think about the future.
