Dzeko the Gecko

Featured Replies

Tbh I don't care what we end up paying aslong as we ge him, far too often decisions are made with resell value etc. End of the day we want to finish the season as strong as possible and we need quality. Of all the strikers we've been "linked" with Dzeko is easily the best of them. I think we'd be foolish not to get him in.

DOOR OPEN FOR CHELSEA?

Edin Dzeko started for Roma against Inter Milan this evening, while another Chelsea target Emerson Palmeiribegan the game on the bench, but Roma’s sporting director Monchi has refused to rule out the prospect of selling the duo to the London club. Chelsea are reportedly looking to do a deal for both players for a combined £44m. Speaking ahead of the game, he said:

"Whatever happens will be done thinking about what’s best for the club and the team," he said. "In my mind is always the desire to strengthen the squad, which is my job."

Hope you buy him, this evening he was pure s***, he was like a tourist walking around the pitch.

How would you rate Tuttomercato web and  premium sport   for being reliable?  One of them says Dzeko is still deciding whether to join due to him being ineligible for Champs league,  whereas dimarzio claims he has said yes (so have some others i think)

tmw and premium 0%, premium is berlusconi's television, only fake news

so if TMW or premium say that Dzeko says no but di marzio says Dzeko says yes,   di marzio is right lol?

So you are making it sound like we would be better with crouch or Barnes then? Lol

sometimes a player doesn't want to bust a gut if they know they could be on the move, due to risking injury. not saying that's the case though

If I recall correctly, Barkley's last performance for Everton was dreadful.

His last season was a bit up and down for them. You could tell his heart wasn't in it.

Yes, not 100% but I believe him more.

To the others, yes, maybe he played like a passenger because he's on the move, but now it's been two months and a half that he's playing like that. SImply walking around, offering some pass playing 20/30 metres far off the goal like a Riquelme and not a striker and NEVER attacking the space in front of him.

Ashley Barnes? Archetypal old fashioned centre forward. Never gives the opposing centre backs a moment peace. I'd have him in our squad.

This guy is a big time player. I remember while he was playin for City how many times he saved them. Aguero scored the big amount of goal, but the most important were for him. Plus his amount wasn't that bad as you can see for a non stop bencher.

Hope he ends at the Bridge in a week. The comparison between him and Caroll, Crouch and Barnes... bzzz. Just do something, for crying out loud, bring this guy.

Sounds great.....

Roma won the group in CL where we finished second. Why would they sell their striker to us?

Apparently they're in a bit of financial trouble and need to raise funds and lighten the wage bill.

Selling Dzeko means they get one of their higher earners off the wage bill and get decent money for a 31 year old, not something that happens very often.

I don't think they want to sell but are backed into a corner a bit by their financial situation.

CHELSEA CLOSE ON DUO

Sky in Italy are saying Chelsea could complete deals to sign Roma duo Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri today.

Chelsea have improved their offer in the last few hours but are trying to work out whether to include Michy Batshuayi on loan as part of the deal.

Dzeko’s agent is expected in London between tonight and tomorrow while Emerson’s representatives are happy and are just waiting for the nod from the clubs.

Roma are asking for 50m euros plus 10m in bonus.

apparently they need to raise £40m or thereabouts.  Was talk of Nainggolan going to China but the manager properly squashed that.  Whereas with Dzeko, they seem to be hinting at a deal

DZEKO DIFFICULTIES

We told you earlier that Sky in Italy are reporting that Chelsea are closing on a deal for Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko from Roma.

However, one source has told us that Dzeko is proving more difficult because of his wages, and Chelsea are unsure whether to spend so much on a 31-year-old, taking the whole financial package into account.

It has also been suggested that Chelsea’s preference is for West Ham's Marko Arnautovic.

Arnautovic is not even a striker, let alone the target man we apparently want. Sky uk don’t seem to have a clue.

Is it hell.  Plus, hasnt he already played for Stoke and West Ham this season? If so, cant be registered for us

coincidence that comes out as Gazetta say Dzeko is still deciding.  I am going to pick dimarzio on this one
