If thats the case then any and all of Pep's team make that school boy mistake 10-15 times a game. The game has changed, passing from the back is the new mantra and the square ball to a free man is probably the easiest option available. Cesc infacts moves into that free space to receive the ball, again down to tactics. Infact as another poster pointed out, pedro played a similar pass early in the game. But this was not an inch perfect pass, Cesc decides he wont move that extra feet to pass the ball back to Tibo and azpi dives in. Cumulation of mistakes. Blaming Andreas is very simple but the fact remains that we are not doing the "no nonsense defender" thing on purpose (tactically and managerial decision) rather than due to an individual's choice.

Osgood's point was "Anyone who has played the game" - You haven't so shut the f**k up with your understanding gained from computer games and BT Sports analysis.

He doesn't have to learn from his mistakes, we have to learn to accept that he will make some now and again.

This is spot on. This can't just be shrugged off as the player will never take ownership of the mistake and improve as a player. But if we want youngsters to develop in our fist team then we have to be prepared for these types of situations occurring. I'm comforted by the fact he only made this one glaring mistake. We could have played our England centre half who would have been breathing out of his ar$e for the last 30 mins, would have continually shanked the ball all over the pitch, would have continually done that stupid little surge forward and then pass the ball sideways or backwards thus putting himself immediately out of position, along with other f**k ups including probably the self same schoolboy error that Christensen made.

Doesn't change the fact that when you are coached at a decent level you are taught not pass the ball along the ground across your own box especially when opposing players are closing you down. Sorry there is no defending that pass.

Considering how often the team does it, clearly they are being coached to do so.

Again mate. Thats one school of thought. Specially a school of thought, which a lot of managers are leaving behind (pep being one, and definitely conte too).

You are debating with the new generation, mate.  They know everything about football because they have a Sky subscription and a BT subscription and they believe everything the pundits tell them.

Don't get into an argument with that one though, he pulls out the racist card at the drop of a hat.  Doesn't matter what you say, he'll call it racist and try to get everyone else on his side against you.  He's done it many times before against many sensible posters.

I think he might have a tiny dick and so is over-compensating :)

Well, I predicted 0-4 before the game, so pleased with 1-1, reminds me of semi final v Arsenal in 2004, we drew at home 1-1, then went a goal down at the library, but that goal didn't make any difference we still needed to get a goal and up stepped Frank and then bridge in final minute, so on a positive, in the nou camp we've basically got a free hit, because if we make a mistake or try to be more expansive and get picked off it doesn't matter, we will still be in game needing a goal, another thing and a very important thing, if there is one team in Europe that Barca have a bit of complex with its us, to many big battles over the years with us is playing with their heads, they might of thought different players different team, but no, we are still there pissing them off and making a nuisance of ourselves, when we scored the camera panned around and Messi, iniesta and pique's faces said it all, not these f**kers again they were thinking, roll on the nou camp, we're coming for you again Barca!!! "Carefree"

And consequently we gave away a goal from it

Well thats the way Conte set us up to play with no target man. How many times did we try to play out the back from goal kicks and when Tibo kicked it long, we had conte going ballistic.

I agree with what you are saying about not playing that pass, particularly in the situation, but the roots of it are more down to the tactics and management than the individual.

Well if they watch Sky or BT tonight I'm sure it will be mentioned how you don't play a suicide pass like that. They may learn something. And yeah I've had a ding dong with him before.

There's another thing that is coached to defenders, "if in doubt, boot it out". A defender is coached to play safe first and foremost.

For someone claiming to be not an "internet generation", I see a lot of you on here. Surpringly even saw a post of yours during the game. Hmmm. interesting. Trying to get validation out of internet but acting all macho. Interesting ploy!!!

Talking about cocks!!! Not the one trying to look like a know it all unlike you. So probably that part sounds defines your best.

Could I have an English translation of your rant?

You think Pep/Conte coach that? Specially with Conte shouting at Tibo (when he booted the ball long) to play the ball to Rudi when getting pressed. I honestly have my doubts
