November 5, 20187 yr I think we will take points off City yet not in both matches, they are clearly the form team currently though we will pose a stronger test than most when we meet.
November 5, 20187 yr While I'm really enjoying watching us being more positive having more possession, what I'm also enjoying is the mans attitude in interviews. He's refreshingly straight forward and honest and his answer to the Morata question after the match was a perfect example of that. I love the fact that we're back to just consentrating on the performances of the individual players and the team as a whole.

City look pretty unstoppable. Liverpool are not quite firing on all cylinders yet but they'll be right up there. Arsenal are improving this season. Spurs are stagnating but will be in the mix for top four. Utd will grind it out and be in contention for top four as well. Another season when two big clubs will end up being very disappointed.

We’ve had a fantastic start with only West Ham and United game being disappointing. I worry that as the season goes on and Sarri’s lack of rotation, tiredness will kick in. Wasn't Sarri’s Napoli leading Serie A and eventually fell away?
November 6, 20187 yr What is this lack of rotation many are talking about? We've seen the complete defensive line changed in the Cups, also the midfield has been rotated in midweek's games, and only one of the wingers has played most of the last few games (William), and will probably be rotated this Thursday. Giroud and Morata have been also rotating, although Morata has played most of the last few games as he is scoring. Fair enough that the starting line up has been mostly the same for the Premier League games, and we will see during the Christmas period if he rotates or not but so far, many of the players have been rested during the week.
November 6, 20187 yr I agree he has rotated reasonably well so far, though I think it is too early to tell yet. With the exception of the Cups I think Sarri is trying to find the best balance. Most successful sides do not rotate that much unless injury dictates this.

The only positions he isn't rotating are the players who aren't playing well enough to get a start in the league. He rotates Pedro and Willian, Morata/Giroud Kovacic/Barkley. For example right now i wouldn't feel comfortable playing Cahill or Christensen in a league game, they aren't playing well enough.

That Napoli side had little to no depth and was up against an extremely strong Juventus side. Agree with the consensus that he's made a satisfactory attempt to rotate here. The only quibble I have with him is that he hasn't used Ampadu/CHO more.

Also, Conte's winning season didn't need rotation. When the team is playing well, they all want to play often. We also have Europa league to rotate. Sarri has been rotating too. He's not going to rotate the first team while we're playing well and he's trying to get the team to gel as much as possible. It would be silly to do this while the players are learning the system. They have only been playing together in this system for what, 4 months? Hardly any time at all. We are going through a 360 in change of style, the players still have bad habits which are being ironed out under Sarri. It will take time, so constant rotation is far from a good idea at the moment. November 6, 20187 yr It’s ok rotating at this stage of the season - early in cups etc but it’s in the business end of the season that we’ll really know if he has utilised his squad fully. When we have an FA cup semi final followed by a tough prem game. Moments like that. Its only a worry I have. I hope I’m wrong!
November 6, 20187 yr I reckon he rotated pretty well, steady team for the league and pretty much a different team for the cup games, apart from that Liverpool and first Europa game. If we wrap up the Europa league groups this week ( can't see any reason we arent going to), 2 games left are for the fringe, reserves and youth players. The challenge will be in February/March when we need to manage league and knock up cup games, probably don't want play youth teams against Spurs in Europa league.

To be fair, Ampadu has been injured the last few months hasn't he? Agree about CHO though, should be playing ahead of Moses at the very least.

November 11, 20187 yr I like Sarri, we’re unbeaten so shouldn’t grumble too much but I do feel like he he’s determined to player certain players and he’s set on us playing a particular way. Doesn’t seem to deviate from plan A regardless of performance or score line.

So how do we go about turning draws into wins? This isn’t just about the Everton game but our performances as a whole since the start of the season.
