I thought the same. At the time we were being heavily critised for having so many foreign players, so we bought chris sutton who was a disaster, and i felt lampard was another english signing to placate the media. 

In my defence, i was only about 14 at the time!

I remember arguing with you last season over it when you weren't impressed with his performance against Tottenham, I thought he played well and looked good, you weren't impressed. I can see why so many people thought he wasn't going to be a good player though. 

Hell, I used to talk on another Chelsea forum and if you found my comments back in 2012 you would die laughing, I was completely against the Hazard signing, one of the very few Chelsea fans who thought he was overrated, it doesn't get much worse than that.

A lot of people on here were against the Hazard signing too. I can't remember much of what I wrote at the time, but I remember a lot of people weren't impressed with the way he handled his transfer. All of that "who will I sign for next" stuff was seen as a bit big headed and disrespectful to Lille. I think people were worried we were signing an egotist like Neymar, but it actually turned out to be the complete opposite in the end. Hazard is one of the most grounded superstar footballers you will find.

That's exactly what put me off, he just looked like a good dribbler to me and never had the character to really improve his game. Well boy I got that wrong, now I'll happily say he's one of the best to ever wear the blue, if not the best in terms of abillity. And as for ego, very far from it, he actually came across really humble.

That's why we're all sitting behind our keyboards and type away our opinions, instead of being out there scouting and signing professional footballers.

Here's my confession, I thought that selling Matic for 40m and getting Bakayoko would be a big win over manU, I thought Bakayoko was the next big thing for us

And I was super exited when Chelsea signed my all time Genk hero Kevin de Bruyne. 

Now every time he plays it is even more painful as we had him. 

Would have been less frustrating if didn't come to us in the first place.
