He needs to play week in week out. That would mean Willian or Hazard out and a big trust from Sarri and the club. Whatever people here say about Willian he is a premium player and one pretty much every Prem team would love to have. Is this Pulisic kid ready to take his place. I have no idea but it is a big ask anyway.

funny the talking heads are quick to say Pulisic can't play w/ CFC, but can play w/ lolpool. Hmmm, I can't see him getting time over Firmino, Mane & Salah. Dirty red bias once again

What, you mean like buying Drinkwater who was not selected for England whilst we loaned our RLC who was selected by his country and played more minutes in the PL.

Really, is that what you are going with? One example. Firstly, we were pushed to make this transfer. It has nothing to do with your comment about youth vs youth. Secondly, Drinkwater at his peak is clearly better than RLC who might be better or might be not. We don't know. But at the end of this day, DD is above till Ruben proves the opposite. third, RLC was not in our squad when we acquired Danny, he was already on loan.

the world is buying young class from the outside because the percents they turn out to be better than our own is like 95 to 5. And this is not our mistake, don't dramatize in every single thread, this is the modern football pattern.

I expect to see the board and the club policy blamed for global warning or the status of the ozone layer.

Perhaps, but then your argument isn't what I'd call a strong one!

You are saying Drinkwater is clearly better than RLC. Now I'm still not convinced by RLC but the general consensus is that he has something about him and will make it to a decent level, whether that is with Chelsea or not. What I see in Drinkwater is a player we should never have signed because he is bang average and it's no wonder he has found himself in the wilderness as IMO that would have been the case even if he hadn't picked up any niggling injuries.

 

Nothing will happen until all the WC players come back, give a day or two for the club to talk to the players, then start bidding with 2-3 days left. Obviously, our initial offers will knocked back, so realistically we sign a couple on the deadline date, hopefully Pulisic will be in. The priority this season seems to be keep what we have, if one goes, we buy one. After Jorginho, we made absolute no progress in any of the supposed deals.

Could be but more likely down to DD being Mr Average whereas RLC offers something different.

 

Or Drinkwater didn't play much all season and RLC did, even though it was in a crap   side.

What is 'something different', exactly? Two goals in 24 appearances for Palace last season? Would his name even come up as a topic for discussion if he wasn't Chelsea youth graduate? If RLC was just a Palace player, no-one here would suggest him as a transfer target.

Clearly both Hodgson and Southgate see some serious potential in him, but he really hasn't done anything to date to prove he belongs at the top level.

To be fair to Loftus-Cheek, those stats would be a lot more impressive if the likes of Benteke would just put away the chances Loftus-Cheek set up for him. I remember many times throughout last season where Loftus-Cheek would play a Palace player in (mainly Benteke) and they would hit an easy chance wide or over the bar. Benteke was worse than Morata was last season with his finishing and that's saying something.

Decent winger.....if the price is right we could do worse, we could do better as well but lets see. Still very young and well worth it if the likes of Fekir do not happen.

Posted earlier but think my post got deleted with the server switch. The article mentions they want CHO as his replacement, says a lot to me. Pulisic has been replaced by an 18 y/o Sancho, who during youth football was half the footballer that CHO was. Trust the youth.

I'm still waiting to see what is so special about the guy. We need somebody better than Pedro and Williian on the wing, I don't think he is better than either of them.

If so, the two teams that haven’t changed/bought players since last season are Tottenham & United. Tottenham have lost 3 in the league already this season and are about to drop out of their CL group. United signed Fred yes, but they don’t play him. So for argument’s sake let’s say they haven’t changed and they’re what 8th in the league and could still drop out of their group.

If you don’t freshen things up in some way you do pay for it.

Most def......Fergie always did this after a winning season.....it keeps the squad freash and hungry for places.

I’m all for bringing in a new winger but don’t understand the attraction of this one.

He’s been marginalised by Sancho this season so unless we’re bringing in someone top level why not develop CHO instead?
