I think he is a Chelsea fan but every comment is extremely down and defeatist. I like to have a moan as much as the next guy in the match threads but he takes it to the next level. I guess he never posted consistently enough for me to really have a go but I thought about it many times before lol.

Rather a wealthy Brit own us, I think we did have some interest from that Jim Ratcliffe guy a year or 2 back? Not sure if he ever bought another English club mind.

It's very much possible that the club goes bankrupt because of racism towards Roman. This would be like the US gathering all ethnic Japanese while WW2 was going on, just because they are ethnically Japanese. At least we will always be able to say that we had a team that won the CL twice.

They are trying to justify it happen. Soon enterly possible. 

So not happening but being called for. I certainly don’t know very much about the guy and I have no idea if he is close or not to Putin, but I am sure that whether they dissolve CFC or anything else aimed at Abramovic, it will absolutely, without any shadow of a doubt, not result in Putin saying sorry and going home. I think they could kidnap and torture his daughters and he’d shrug and carry on. Still, I suppose that we have to be seen to do something regardless of how futile it is.

Can we get Ken back? I do like a bit of nostalgia and despite the lack of success, they were much happier times.

Seen a few less comments that the government could simply devolve us. Sell of the bridge and hotel, release the players and staff as a show of "we are doing this because it is right not to make money" sort of thing.

Least that seems to be the thoughts/hope of some rival fans.

No, they are not. I don't think you have quite grasped the seriousness of the situation right now. I can guarantee you right now that the last thing they want to do is shut down Chelsea football club. The number 1 club in London, which is the capital of one of the biggest cities in the world, in the biggest sport in the world, we will be viewed as a major asset to the country. There is a reason why Roman Abramovich wasn't one of the names listed to be affected by sanctions put on Russia a few days ago, it's because it's not something the government wants to do. Things have escalated greatly since then though, and anything can happen at this point. 

From my own point of view, I don't know how seizing Abramovich's assets hurts Russia, but maybe there is something more to it that I am not aware of.

I think realistically if/when Roman gets sanctioned (I have no idea if he’s involved but he is the most famous Russian billionaire in the UK hence being mentioned everywhere) the worst I can see happening to us is needing to be self sufficient for a while IE no Roman “loaning” us any more money.

Given we lost 150mill while winning the CL we would not carry on for long then most likely.

I believe the powers that be within football itself have their favorites, and we are not one of them.

Far as the UK government go I feel no different to them than the Canadian government here or the majority of world leaders elsewhere in politics. They end up attracting a certain kind of person. Alternating between the Greedy, Corrupt and/or useless.

Pretty much every Russian oligarch will have a connection with Putin, but it's a stupid move to seize all Roman's assets in the UK just to stop the war. A better response would have been to hold talks with the rest of the world to impose sanctions on Russia and it's banks.  I'm sure MI6 is currently being mobilized to end Putin. 

A football club is a money sink, the club doesn't generate enough cash for it to be economically viable as a source of war fund.

Fordstam Ltd can easily change it's CEO and the problem would be solved.

If the UK government and the US government in particular are so outraged by this then why are the politicians talking and talking instead of sending their respective militaries to help the Ukraine?

Maybe they'll give the club to the CPO.
