Jamie Carragher: Chelsea fans are hypocrites:

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/12566356/chelsea-fans-hypocritical-over-my-thomas-tuchel-man-utd-comment-says-jamie-carragher-chelsea-situation-a-wake-up-call-says-gary-neville

Jamie Carragher has hit back at what he believes is the 'hypocrisy' of Chelsea fans unhappy with his suggestion Manchester United should target Thomas Tuchel.

Responding to the news that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich had been sanctioned, plunging the Stamford Bridge club into turmoil, Carragher argued United should seek to take advantage by pursuing Tuchel as their next manager.

"It's fair to say that l had a few heated discussions at Stamford Bridge on Sunday [when Sky Sports covered their match with Newcastle]," said Carragher on Monday Night Football.

"The first thing they did was go to Manchester United and take Peter Kenyon as their CEO. 'We'll go to Liverpool and take the best midfielder in Europe and destabilise that club for two summers' - they didn't get him. 'We'll get Ashley Cole, an Invincible who has won everything at Arsenal. Yeah, we'll go and get him. We get caught tapping up? Doesn't matter, we'll pay the fine'.

"Chelsea have taken advantage of every other club in the last 20 years because of Roman Abramovich.

"So if l give an opinion on someone taking advantage of them, that is just a way of life. That's the way it may be for Chelsea and you have to accept that.

"But, if that's my opinion of it, I certainly don't want Chelsea fans questioning that opinion next time I go there because it's exactly what they have done for the last 20 years."

It’s crazy how the club could disappear in space of a few months. Obviously that’s the worst case scenario but it’s pretty surreal.

f**k we did not deserve this mess. Honestly f*ck the government, the news the past week has flipped my world upside down and I’m not the only one. We are being punished for supporting a team. And there’s a lot of people revelling in it!

I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

I don't care about opinions of adults who spit on little girls because they don't support their club

Yeah your not allowed to feel that way, or so all the media and rival fans come out with.

All our thoughts should be on the people of the Ukraine and not our football team, despite that seemingly being the focus of everyone else in the UK...

Are you a Chelsea fan? What kind of post is this? Hope you're being sarcastic.

A realistic one. Try as we may our owner did have very close ties to Putin & made his fortune in not exactly legal ways. I'm not one to just be optimistic for the sake of it. Love the club but can't help but feel we are in trouble.

Hope that answers your question

London-based luxury property developer Nick Candy now has the funds in place to make a bid for Chelsea this week.

Candy, a Chelsea fan, has been working to put together a consortium to buy the club and he has held talks with former Liverpool and British Airways chairman Sir Martin Broughton, another lifelong Blues fan, about such such a deal.

Jamie Carragher can go f*ck off. He wasn't talking sh*t when Liverpool were struggling to get 4th a few years ago, a couple of years of success and suddenly he thinks he can talk down on any group of fans or team.

Honestly he is a prick, to make him shut the f*ck up, show him a picture of Drogba and he’ll cower back into his cave

It’s not realistic. It’s definitely the end of the Roman era, but it’s not over for Chelsea.

We will get sold.

Would be nice to have a successful bid from buyers that are Chelsea fans.

However, I just read Sir Martin Broughton's net worth is $200,000!!!  Could be that valuation is way off the mark, but something don't add up - literally.

Indeed seems odd.

My preference would be them if they can prove funds. Fan involvement on the board level would be great and they seem to be the only ones offering it.

This from the scummiest rag out there, probably i've read it wrong but is  he actually right about this and not slaughtering us like every other journo?

Martin Samuel is one of the very few actually good sports journalists. Top article.

Good points on our government too. To all those say the government are bending over backwards to help the club do yourselves a favour a read this, because our government is corrupt and only care about their bottom line, not people, not what is happening in Ukraine and certainly not about what happens in Yemen or the 81 beheading in Saudi.

i think we should also take note of the vitriol some papers are spewing like the daily mail... ian herbert ..oliver holt.. they should not be allowed at the bridge and their reporters banned.. Sir Alex did it and so should we..

They hate us so should not make money of us.. i really hope we never give them an exclusive again..

Yes we should, and also remember the media pundits like Carragher and what they have said and ban them too.

Won't happen, doubt even Candy would if he got the club. No way the BWG will who I expect win the bidding war.

Don't think BWG would win, but if they come close we should make our voices heard. We cannot in any circumstances have a Spuds fan owning us.

Jonathan can literally work undercover for Spuds to feck our club up.

If you read between the lines Carragher is basically saying that he hates Chelsea, wants us to be liquidated and all the past 20 years erased. But he cannot directly say it as he would lose his job.

Carragher should have been out of the job already when he spat on a little girl's face. Disgusting character.

How did he keep his job after that? Was he even prosecuted?

What he said isn't necessarily wrong and fans are hypocritical because obviously we are protective of our club but it's the way that he does it that hurts the most.

He knows he's a public figure and he's not afraid to use the fame for him but pundits should just shut up regarding these matters because it's not a footballing issue at all. The difference back then was, the club approached Peter Kenyon, Ashley Cole etc behind closed doors.

Roman never went on live tv saying "I'm going to buy a-z" or disrespected the people's respective clubs.

Jamie Carragher, once a cnut always a cnut
