March 25, 20224 yr "Arsenal are a bigger club than Chelsea"?... You what?!! Is this some kind of joke? Or maybe it's because they won 5/6 old 1st div titles in the 1930s and most of their trophies came before the 1966 world cup... Have they ever won a European trophy? In the last 10 years Chelsea have won every major trophy available to them... Multiple times...
March 25, 20224 yr Long time lurker, since 2006. ST holder for a few years etc.. Been following everything real close, I could probably start a sub stack about it all! Mana could well be a poster that i saw banned from another forum - talkchelsea (ghost town) Be interesting to know how many rival fans and supporters have accounts on all our forums!! We could use some solid deets from the supporters trust with regards to the bids For me, I think I'd prefer supporters to own some of the club and take a lesser billionaire like candy over potentially the biggest bidder but ends up using us as an asset like the rest of the big boys! (Although potential squabbles could arise) Bayern Munich over man utd in terms of how the clubs are being run etc I'd also like to see a serious reduction in ticket costs, A bid that includes agreements to expand the bridge ideal. Cheers guys! KTBFFH Edited March 25, 20224 yr by MasonsMount
March 25, 20224 yr I don't know, I would say Arsenal are bigger. They have 13 league trophies, 14 FA Cups. League titles are tough to win. Cup competitions can involve kinder draws, some luck etc. League titles requires consistency for 38 games during a season. They also have an unbeaten season. For me that is impressive. I would say Arsenal are bigger. In Europe they've been failures though. Even with their best teams they failed to capture a European trophy.
March 25, 20224 yr Also if anyone connected to the club read this PLEASE sort out the PL tickets debacle for the love of jesus! All about optics for the gov so what exactly is going on for me raises the eyebrow. It stinks!

After seeing that happen we have been taking big steps towards sustainability. I don't want any type of Arsene Wenger type philosophies around our club. I'd much rather be Real Madrid than hippie-dippie Arsenal. When you talk about money for guys like Roman it is just money. I don't understand why the money has to be "human-sized". John or Jane don't own top clubs and they don't have to. People always reflect their own lives to things. The way Roman has got his wealth is another question. I rather we have an owner with a cleaner background. I think the way our academy works we have Great basis for a sustainable system. Now I don't suggest we have guys like Mount or James coming through every year but one or two top guys in 5 years would be great. Our academy goes from strength to strength. Gallagher, Broja and Colwill all to slot in as long as they stay clear of the RLC like injuries.

This must be a joke, historically i'd agree Arsenal were a bigger club, but they've won 6 league titles since the 70/71 season, that's 50 years ago.... they are no longer bigger than us... it's a fact... no League title since 2004... a gap of 18 years now.... come on let's be realistic, it's like saying Aston Villa are bigger than us because they won five league titles in the 1800's, football moves on. You cannot consider Arsenal to be in the same bracket as us now...yes they may have the Fan base and win the odd cup but look at their league title winning seasons below. Winners (13): 1930–31, 1932–33, 1933–34, 1934–35, 1937–38, 1947–48, 1952–53, 1970–71, 1988–89, 1990–91, 1997–98, 2001–02, 2003–04 Yes they have won the FA Cup 14 times, but so what, i'd swap 14 FA cups for 1 European Cup let alone 2!!!!!

I am unsure if they have what it takes to make it at Chelsea. The other 3 are nailed on to be top players of they keep their heads straight and are injury free most of the time.

Yup, in the last 50 years.. Leagues = 5 each FA Cups = 10 to them, 7 to us European cup = 0 to them, 2 to us Secondary European cups = 1 to them, 3 to us League cup = 2 to them, 4 to us. We got them beat on trophies. But that means f**k all. London is Blue. Edited March 25, 20224 yr by bisright1

We have considerably more in the last 20yrs, more and more important ones in the last 50yrs. Its only when it goes back 100yrs that it actually becomes debatable.

March 25, 20224 yr Apparently there is a mystery bidder amongst the shortlist including BWG ad Sir Martin. Still also no news on who is backing Sir Martin's consortium.
March 25, 20224 yr Just my observations and opinions today, they could change tomorrow the way its going 🙂 and this is all based on what I have ready in the press which goes from the sublime to the ridiculous. However on balance I think we are probably, in terms of ownership the most sort after club in the country, maybe the world. (however if Real or Juve were up for sale it would be interesting for example) I don't understand the politics or the financials. all I know that to me the future looks good, I would rather Roman over any other owner but looks like we are going to be alright, maybe even better than alright. There maybe a few months where we have to step back, re-assess, think about our strategy as a club. I am personally ready for that. Lets hope the players and management are KTBBFH (What ever the outcome)
March 25, 20224 yr "The process has been complicated by some of the people who were told they weren't on the shortlist refusing to take no for an answer and fighting to get onto it. There's even a suggestion some bidders might get together to try to get onto the shortlist, it's become really, really messy." From Sky Sports. Wonder who us kicking up a fuss? WJ?
March 25, 20224 yr As per reports, Raine’s #Chelsea takeover shortlist: 🔹 Todd Boehly's consortium 🔹 Sir Martin Broughton's consortium 🔹 The Ricketts family 🔹 Mystery bidder

Interesting the other 3 have done PR but the press can figure out a mystery bidder.
March 25, 20224 yr I have to admit I really don't want it to be an American owner. Kroenke at Arsenal, the Glazers at Uniterd, FSG at Liverpool, none of them have good records. Most of them would be wanting Chelsea for their own financial gain rather than improving/maintaining the fortunes of the club. Do we know which bidders are using debt to buy the club and how much they are using?

March 25, 20224 yr What happened to the 4 season ticket holders running that London based investment company with £29b worth of assets? Not heard anything since their final day bid. Curious to know who the mystery bidder is too. So what are thinking is our likely best option? Seen so many negative comments from fair weather fans on facebook about how we can't have British or American owners, surely whoever is buying the club for a record amount of money for a sports club ever, will have our future success in mind?!
