Well, Spurs made £35 million match day revenue more than us over the season quoted by someone back in the thread.

I'm not sure spending over £2 billion and years away from the Bridge is worth it .

Not sure what spurs spent I think probably the best part of a £billion so I doubt they will make it back anytime soon. Thing is if you want to a big club and looked as such you have to keep up. Otherwise the whole image and relevance of Chelsea will sink.

Yeah that's true mate. I suppose we're getting left behind to a certain extent.  Mind you , our relevance is surely based on football success rather than the stadium? I thought Battersea would have been perfect, I've always thought of us as a South London club rather than a west London club anyway

The old gas works at Imperial wharf would have suited us too.

And wasn't there something near Earls Court where there is a huge railway thing or is that part of the Earls court development?

f**k knows, just win tonight

Come on you BLUES !

.

I bet Todd is pleased with his involvement in the Premier League , all his player acquisitions and staff changes. Hes done a great job reducing us to this sh*tshow tonight. Just wondering when we might learn something from these over confident americans.

Totally ruined us in just over a year. In terms of players, winning mentality, financially…… we are in a right mess and are probably only a tenner away in revenue fluctuation of a FFP points deduction.

what a f**king mess.

8 and a half years to go.

You watch though as long as we stay in the PL they are going to make a LOT of money off the club, even if we finish 15th for the next 9 seasons.

People keep saying this and it may be true. My question is how much will Steve Parish make on Crystal Palace over the next ten years.

If, as i expect, we become Crystal Palace or Brentford how much will we really make on the 1bn spent, considering the players average values will plummet especially in an environment where only our home market has any money anyway, a average size stadium. How much marketing value will there be in emerging markets like the Americas and the Far East for a club that are perennially 12th - 15th in the league, chock full of bang average players.

Not sure tbh.

I find it funny all the YouTube Chelsea fans are all like "sack poch now, sack the directors, you have to do it to bring Chelsea back" blah blah blah.

I know @dkwHates me referencing them but how thick are this lot, I mean really?

Have you not woken up to what our owners goals are? Have they not been clear to us?

I used to rant against the owners on here too. But I have come to accept what they are doing, and what they will continue to do.

It is not about rebuilding Roman's winning machine. This is not one person, one owners fortune. This is many people, plus one hedge fun that have many investors to answer to.

They have their ways to make money off us, winning football matches are Secondary, they don't matter to the primary goal. Jose Feliciano from Clearlake stated this crystal clearly.

Do they think their voices on social media will make a difference, will they create a revolution against this ownership? Will the owners care? No, no and no.

Ah but that what not it, not really. Is about your views, you making money off your videos. Making money, just like our owners.

Make your money Youtubers, some of you guys are quite funny at least.

I am very confident in their ability to make money for themselves. They have a lot of experience in that field.

They will find a way to make money no matter what. In a way they are probably delighted with FFP as they can claim their hands are tied with regards to new signings.

It's just a complete concoction of horrors starting with the owners, followed by the directors and then finally the managers they've hired. A fish always rots from its head down and thats precisely whats happened here.

For a while we all had genuine hope it might get better but personally I am rapidly losing that hope. I think its getting increasingly clear that we have indeed been turned into a mid-table, development club thats been put
in a precarious financial situation that can only be salvaged by selling our most valuable assets for many years.

For rival fans Boehly & Eghbali is everything they could have ever dreamed of. For us it's a never ending nightmare.

Not sure you or @dkw are really in a position to be calling any other chelsea fans thick given the pair of you couldn't work out how to read the team sheet before the game yesterday.

It's especially funny you of all people saying people talking about the ownership won't change things.  Obviously but you post 100 times a day here.

Very Pot Kettle.

Pretty sure me and Dicky looked at the team sheet and said it was not going to be a good day for us.

How do the Milan fans like you and your views on Pulisic Hazardous?

I agree to a certain extent mate, because there is a flip side. What if the fans full on revolt and we see large protests (like with the super league) the noise will start to get very loud and the heat in the kitchen will reach a boiling point. Then we have possible boycotts fron the fans, if they choose to stop going to games, buying merchandise and supporting the owners. Then we could get a very tense 7-8 year period.

They declared war on the club's previous identity by removing everything to do with the old regime. Whilst it would be evident that for the most part they're still yet to recieve true fan backlash I still think there is a lot this fan base can do to push about change.

But to what end? What would be adequate change? What is it we want as a fan base? We had the trophies, but people still wanted more. Attractive football maybe? Well there's teams that do that and don't win silverware. Youth development perhaps, a sustainable model. All of the above? This is what I just don't know, at this point I don't even know what I want as a fan (except the bumbling Brighton boys indefinitely gone, someone has to pay for a year of negligence).

Changes to the business plan (project), player acquisitions, public faces of the consortium, sporting directors replaced. I'm not sure but one thing is certain we never asked for this level of change and whilst they bought the club and have a right to do with it as they see fit.

The question remains what do they do if the fans generally hate them? I see it as a hard brand to market if the people who are supposed to support you don't support you and actively despise you. Even if they plan to make revenue through sponsorships and promotions will anyone seriously want to work with a club that even their own fans hate and possibly don't attend their own games. Empty stadiums will send a resounding message. How does the sponsorships and partnerships make money through affiliation then? Who would want to be affiliated or associated with a club under those circumstances?

Personally I would always recommend people use their voice and stand up for what they feel is wrong, even if it's "only football" to everyone on here that is something worth fighting for!

We can always count on you for a thought provoking, in depth reply. Thank you for that mate.

When I wrote that I had just had enough of the same old rhetoric from several of them that used to have good content, rather than banging this drum again and again.

Here is one for you. Why did the same fan base who had the most passionate response to the super league, and played a huge role in changing Roman's mind on it, become so limp and accepting of how the government treated us while they ripped the club from Roman's hands?

Where was that same passion? Where was the protests at downing Street or the houses of parliament. Why did we just accept it but the super league we refused and fought the higher power?

And which Chelsea fan base is it right now is it? The super league stonghold, or the Oliver may we have our tickets back pwease Mr. Government?  Or neither? As you said, I don't think our fanbase knows what they want our club to be.

On a related note maybe my forum moniker could be "The Forum Dingbat". I like that one.

Well that one is fairly easy in my opinion. Everything even remotely associated with Russia was being accused of being supportive of the Ukraine war, to the point where the club and its fans were even being accused by some. Not many people would be willing to go out on the streets protesting, get themselves pictured, blasted on twitter or some other sh*t, and find themselves out of a job because the internet decided they were pro-Russia, instead of supporting their clubs best interest. Everything was very on the edge at the time.

Supporting Roman yes it woild be seen that way.

But supporting Chelsea and proresting the penalties imposed on the club and the supporters? No, is all about how it was presented. The club was under serious threat, we should have stood up for it.

I honestly think many have just given up since the sanctions! A lot of passion went with Roman when the club was stolen! Our fanbase was already tiny compared to others and that put another dent into it!

You can add any title that you want (so long as it fits with the rules) just go to your profile, click the edit profile within the cover picture, then go to the bottom and add what you want in Member Title, then save!

I certainly haven't felt the same connection to the club since all this happened. I think it's clear it's happened to a lot of people, as the engagement here has dwindled since then. I find it a real struggle to care any more. Of course, I can't watch anyone else instead, so it's just sapped my love for the game completely.
