Ok match going fans and those in the London area, is on you all to let the owners know this is not acceptable and you won't put up with it.

Cause us international fans, TV fans and the YouTube and X posters make no difference.

You stopped the super league, help save our club....again....

We're powerless at this point. They have spent so much money and put us in so much debt that it's impossible to get out of it. It doesn't matter if we had a change of ownership tomorrow, it wouldn't fix this. They took the worst gamble with the clubs future and it's ruined us.

Ironically, the Super League is the only thing that saves us now.

Ted Lasso wasn’t even this bad, they have completely f**ked the club from top to bottom.

Getting rid of all the experience players in 18 months is the biggest sh*t how I have seen it was dumb.
A lot of fans on here were calling for rebuild guess you didn’t expect that 😂

Clown show the lot of them absolute clown show.

Believe it or not, Roman started this mess.

The Champions League was great in 2021 but the recruitment that summer under Lampard was made with good intentions but all of those players failed, bar an experienced Silva.

Todd has come in and again, great intentions but failed even worse. We got a life line this summer to do something after selling failed players and have just spent more money on rubbish.

Roman and Marina started the downfall and Todd and Clearlake have cemented it.

Our recruitment under Bates with the likes of Lampard, Terry and Gallas was good then Roman took it to the next level with Drogba and Cech. Players who would last for 10 years no matter who the manager was.

Signings like Kepa, Havertz, Werner, Pulisic, Sterling, Jackson, Mudryk and Caicedo have been god awful.

We are finished.

The board at Clearlake must be panicking now…. They are never getting their money back, not of club resale value or the young but terrible players we’ve bought.

what’s their total investment? About £5bn?

Clubs ruined. f**k you Todd

They are getting f**ked probably more than us fans and I am enjoying it.

f**k our club then I hope you lose a sh*t tone of money.

Roman's helicopter would be flying into Cobham tomorrow morning if he was still here. Hopefully Todd and Eghbali make the right decision before it's too late, a rallying end to the season and we could end up with a trophy and European football.

I can't really see any way out of this. They gambled £1b on this squad, and there will be no European football, lower income from sponsors and merch, etc... FFP will hit us I suspect, because how can it not. The few good players will want out sooner rather than later. And we will just continue to spiral down. Likely into relegation.

But maybe in another 20 years we'll be back. Who knows.

Signings under Abramovich were always hit and miss, but they were never made with the risk of ruining the club. There was always a way out because even if the new signings didn't work out, there was enough quality already in the squad to go again.

The new owners have done the complete opposite. They have left no room for failure. Failure means the end of Chelsea FC as a top club. We're already there, it's just not been made official yet. It will be by the end of next season though when we are forced to sell Palmer.

My initial sentiment to your message was admonishment.

But then let me just be a bit more tolerant of your view that a man that's the best thing to have happened to this club is responsible for the mess we are now in.

Let me be tolerant of your view that a man who loved this club more than the current brigade do and maybe even more than some of our own fans is responsible for the mess we are in.

Let me be tolerant of your view that the man who never sold his club willingly but got given an ultimatum to do so is responsible for the mess.

Let me be tolerant of the view that the man who bank rolled us through his ownership and brought star after star, managers and players alike to our club and was the original disruptor to the status quo is responsible for the mess.

Let me be tolerant of the view that Roman who was pushed out of the club he owned, in one last show of support to the club wiped out debt clean so we started with a huge advantage over everyone else is responsible for the mess we are in.

In same vein, please be tolerant of my view that your views on Roman are at best misguided and at worst, bollocks.

Wholeheartedly agree!

Roman embodied everything that made us the most successful club of his tenure.

Clearlake and Boehly have come in, ripped up the whole plan, got rid of everything from the previous regime (Marina, Cech etc. and the majority of the CL winning squad) and replaced it with utter dross.

Whatever Roman's failings ,Todd bought a club that had finished in the top 4 , and reached 2 domestic finals only losing both on penalties.

And the club was debt free .

Instead of leaving everything alone for a season , they steamed in and tore the club apart, spent loads of money, and within months we had the worst Chelsea team for decades.

100%. They rebuilt the club their own way out of ego, and the state we are in now is entirely a reflection of their strategy. They will now sell off any half-rated talent from our academy (a legacy of the club before they took over) to stay within FFP rules, leaving us mostly with the dross that they signed.

You are way too sentimental and acting like Roman was gold. All of your points above are almost irrelevant to the point I made. When Roman sold the club, that Champions League winning squad was not good enough to challenge for a league challenge. If Roman sold the club in 2007, we wouldn't be in a state because the squad was still strong. Kepa, Havertz, Werner, Ziyech, Lukaku to name a few were big signings that were signed to transform our club and keep us challenging. They were not good enough , sold and the new owners messed up further by replacing them with players just as bad for big money.

I'm not diminishing the history of Roman I'm stating a fact in the state of where the club was at. Even if he remained, major investment was needed to fix those awful signings Todd made.

Context, my friend is everything. And forgive me for being sentimental about a club I've loved and followed for near 30 years now.

What I'll say is that Roman statred to listen and that's when maybe things didn't go well. When he did as he liked , we were hated and he was called trigger happy as all sorts of names but the moment he started to give managers a chance to build teams they wanted, that was our worst period under his ownership. In my opinion anyway.

The " state the club was in " when it was sold was a top 4 team who had just lost both domestic finals on penalties during a traumatic season involving sanctions and a forced sale.

And the club was debt free.

What a great club to buy, yet it was wrecked and ruined from top to bottom leading to the worst Chelsea team in decades all  within a few months.

This is all down to the owners

Im not making excuses for Roman or the new Owners. We had 15 plus years of overall greatness with Roman but we didn't create a sustainable model when we had many opportunities to do so. Since 2012 the only two windows we got right were signing Hazard (followed by what we thought was rock bottom when Rafa was hired) and Costa/Cesc. In between that, its been a circus of bad recruitment. It is what it is and now here we are. Im gutted because this summer I was fine with us being mid table and gradually improving the squad year after year in a 5 year project. The amount of cash we have wasted on players I've never heard of worried me.

At least we are in total agreement here. The funny thing is that would have been easily achievable if they just allowed the first season to proceed without much disruption.

But I guess they went how they went because they looked at options and considered this the quickest way to make money on the club.

In American football fashion, they threw a hail mary but didn't think to have the right receiver in place first.

Amateur hour.

That's an interesting perspective that I hadn't considered before ...

Just did a quick tally up and out of 30 signings I'd heard of 11 ... bloody hell LOL

All of the things that are being said here are fair and true but considering that we accept these owners are not going to just sell and give up so fast, what is the way forward from here for us?  Id have to say regardless of the owners mistakes , and the limitations of some of our players, i still think they are capable of more, they are clearly able to put way more effort and energy in than what they are currently. They are clearly able to be better organised and set up tactically. The only way we get out of this mess is finding a better manager who gets the most out of these players and gets us back into european competition, and its not poch, lets face it. European competition money, and selling a few unneeded homegrowns like broja, maatsen and chalobah gets us out of this immediate mess and buys us time for these young players to maybe grow into epl football.

I cannot agree any more to this comment. Spot on.

Also wish to add. They only needed to sign 2 or 3 quality players each season. Slowly does it, you cannot rebuild an entire squad in two f**king windows and still keep the winning mentality and spirit in the dressing room. It can’t be done and these f**king muppets just found out the hard way.

Never getting their money back 😂
