Media saying some players are unhappy they signed for us, and feel tricked in to a project that is not real.

We heard from Enzos dad he is not happy, no other players mentioned but not hard to believe.

As I have said before, regardless of contract lengths, players like Enzo, Nkunku, Palmer and Colwill I do not believe will stick around for regular mid table PL no European football.

Well if Enzo is not prepared to roll his sleeves up and wants to quit when the going gets a bit tough, then he's clearly not Chelsea material.

If he doesn't want to be here then we should sell him and bring in some less heralded midfielders like Mac Allister or Szoboszlai for smaller fees and lower wages and who can play him off the park ...

Problem is these long contracts havent made or retained the players hunger they are comfortable. But we were supposed to learn from the Americans🙄

Contracts should have little bearing with regards to hunger and mentality. This stems from the club's culture and the manager's influence.

Pep once said it is difficult to convince people who all they eat is caviar, that caviar is still good. The mark of a good manager is to influence his players.

Hardly a surprise. Who wants to be mid-table for the next 7 years and never play CL football?

Think it is also smart from Enzos dad to tell him to wait a year. Get that contract down to 7 years left, lesson the FFP cost needed, to something around 80mill left.

By then Silva and KDB may well be closer to the exit door, and City might be willing to pay close to that.

Yowza there are so many media briefings going on and coming out as the owners look to deflect the problems away from themselves on to others.

The players, Poch, the directors are all problems but you clowns running our club are the main culprits. Less and less of our fan base are being decieved by you lot now!

I may have a tendency toward gloomier outcomes, but my feeling we were about to be stuck as a mid table outfit or worse for many years to come is looking increasingly likely. We’re in a right mess on and off the field and it’s very hard to see how we get out of this. Useless owners, financial problems appear to be circling, a terrible squad on very long contracts and a succession of hopeless coaches. Feels like we’re in quicksand. We can stay still, but not get out or wriggle about and sink.

That's quite an optimistic viewpoint in comparison to axman2526 LOL

Agree, they dont care about fans or the team/club.

Their focus/ interest is money and now things are coming to a head

Their investment is suffering they will have to take some action soon to affect that positively.

New manager a star signing and a couple or three wins ?

Nope, Clearlake need to look at their own people, they need a fundamental change more than the fans do just now.

I think they will be getting very anxious and angry about the money and the wasting of it.

Its painful for us but they must be sweating and it serves them right.

This is a 10 year investment for Clearlake, even a very successful Chelsea made a loss nearly every season under Abramovich.

In 10 years they can trade shares, pay themselves fees, pay themselves dividends, or sell the club . They might lose money after ruining and wrecking the club , plenty of wealthy owners have done that throughout the leagues to other clubs.

It's a ticking time bomb!

Lol they can trade shares, like they were gonna trade players😂 i dont believe they can deceive all of the people all of the time. And yes they have to suffer this for another 9 years or so.

Let the sweating begin😂

Up The Chels ! I shall just wait patiently😎

Oh yeah every players been tricked into a disingenuous project.  Poor things, do they know that their performance on the pitch is what allows us to achieve great things, win trophies etc.  Maybe the owner and manager are sh*t but this attitude alone highlights one of the main problems we have here and that’s entitled little brats for who everyone else is the reason for our terrible performance while they’re some sort of victim.

People these days always blaming someone else rather than looking at themselves.  Bloody blame culture is a disease that the young are infested with these days. Always someone else’s fault.  Pull your socks up and sort it out yourself.

80m. Joking right. What, other than press hype and piffle makes him worth anywhere near that sort of money

If anything I was backing them to keep us clear of FFP issues, if that is even a thing, thus keeping us away from doom of a huge points penalty or worse.

If that means selling players, we sell players. Not sure why you feel it is a negative thing we have sellable assests, if we even need to sell them, it could all be media fear mongering.

I think it's more the insinuation that we could be forced into selling players like Nkunku and Palmer when realistically it'll be players like Gallagher, Chalobah, Maatsen, Broja, Lukaku and incoming cash for Lewis Hall.

Lukaku won't help us for FFP. 38.5mill will clear our remaining owing.

The rest aye if we get good prices.

Of that group of players we have a price agreed with Newcastle for Hall, and they supposedly have an obligation to purchase. Not sure whether a price was built into the loan deals for Maatsen/Broja but I believe it was only an option anyway. Chalobah is still injured and hasn't played in a long time. So unclear how much we would be able to get for him. Gallagher we could probably get somewhere around 50m but he would also have to be willing to join the target club. Certainly 100m+ should be possible for the group but some uncertainty around when we need this by. If we have to sell by end June we will likely be susceptible to low-balling.

Hard to imagine we would get offers of much more than 50-60m for him at present. Even though he is young and still has some admirers in the international market, we massively overpaid, and his form has been poor.

I'll probably get laughed at but I still don't think squad wise we're too far off challenging for the league, we're a top manager and 3 possibly 4 signings away from having a very good team, if we were able to field something like the below we should be pushing for minimum top 4 next season and looking to win the league in a couple of years.

IMG_6834.thumb.jpeg.c151c1ce95a51bc777f37c7ab53ccd6a.jpeg

Subs: Sanchez, Chilwell, Badiashile, Gusto, Chukwemeka, Lavia, Murdyk, Angelo, D.Fofana

4th signing would be a CB but it depends on how Fofana is after the injury.

Ive added in 3 players who I think are realistic transfer targets that would massively improve the team. Of course it's dependant on finances and if we're still able to sell 'the project' but it's not unreasonable to think we'd generate at least £200m from sales if we got rid of Gallagher, Broja, Lukaku, Sterling, Maatsen, Cucurella, Hall, Chalobah.

But if we are fearful of the FFP ramifications of the 10m cost of sacking Poch I can't see how we can sign any senior elite players without some serious manoeuvring going on.

Put another way I would be surprised to see both James and Osimhen on the same pitch wearing blue. Probably include Colwill in that as well.

I don't understand why the owners are not communicating seasonal targets. Why are they not saying exactly what the expectations are? It would give the manager, players and fans some peace of mind. This would also be something that no other club does.

Now the expectation is "we are Chelsea, we want to win every game". That sort of vague and with this squad wildly optimistic expectation, is not very useful.

Why aren't clubs more open about expectations in world of sports?
