Its a strange sport to watch, somewhat like test cricket. Much worse in some ways, and a bit better in other ways.

I had the "joy" of watching a game on TV over the weekend....what an awful sport! Cant really make out positions, roles, loads of stoppages and time wasting....frustrating game to watch. Oh, and each NBA team plays a minimum of 82 games a season! MLB has each team play 162 times, playing each opponent in their division 19 times!!! Absolute madness.... How on earth can anyone watch that much? Although I guess 19 wins against spurs would be nice every season Horrible game to watch on the tele. Just try to focus solely on the sneaker squeaking by the players, I know, I should not have brought it up, but once you concentrate on that, it will make you go crazy with all the 'squeak squeak squeak' that you constantly hear throughout the game.

March 21, 20224 yr Anyone watch the panorama documentary on Roman? Apparently Roman made his money in corrupt deals... anyway in other news the pope is Catholic and bears sh*t in the woods.

We should look for owners who wants to build on our existing structures. The stadium is one area. The men, women and academy squads and academy are another. There was no mention in my post about not building on these structures. That is a given and not worth mentioning. It goes without saying that you have to keep something in order to build on it. And it was more in relation to support structures (staff, policies) than physical ones. What is the point in building a new youth academy or stadium if the new owners let go of Neil Bath and Marina (assuming she wants to stay) - both have been 1st class in their roles.
March 21, 20224 yr Not heard too much about Centricus but they seem interesting. Surely the govt, if possible would want British owners?

Unfortunately in America the Liberals control the narrative with their WOKE BS and if you don't agree with them they try to cancel you. The anti muslim comments in the leaked E.MAIL were disgusting from the 80 year old patriarch but I am not one to judge a man based on the sins of his father. It is the Ricketts children bidding for the club not the 80 year old bigot.

Typical Americans trying to involve sports into their delusional echo chamber and virtue signalling. There will never be anyone who can afford to buy Chelsea who will be suitable for these woke idiots

I have had to get up at 7 AM on some Saturday mornings to catch a Chelsea match and I live in Eastern Time Zone. If you are on the West Coast under Pacific time that means potentially getting up at 4 AM. 7 am a great time, maybe 6:30 am to catch most of a game before work. Most of the cl games start at 7:00 am Sydney time and in the old days I would leave for work at half time and catch the last 15 minutes in the office.

"At the moment, what is happening in New York is The Raine Group, who are handling the sale of Chelsea - they were appointed by Roman Abramovich - they are meeting now to go through all these bids and then to produce a shortlist. "The shortlist is probably going to be two or three preferred bidders. "We're expecting a decision to be made on that shortlist either this evening or early tomorrow. "And then I think what's going to happen is the government have to get involved as well because they're overseeing this whole process. They need to be satisfied about where this money is coming from to buy Chelsea and where the money is going to because, of course, it can't go to Roman Abramovich. "I think the whole process is going to take weeks, it could take another two, three, four weeks for it to be completed so I don't think it's going to be done quickly, I think we're looking at some time towards the end of April before the deal is completed."

CL is separate from our UK license I read somewhere. It is the EU sanctions that would need to be changed in order for Uefa to allow us to sell tickets.

Our understanding is that the present case is assessed in the context of the licence issued in the UK which allows Chelsea FC to continue minimum football activity whilst providing a safeguard that no financial gain will result for Mr Abramovich.
