Bring back Infinite Athlete

To gain maximum exposure, if there is indeed one in place, it would have to wait for players to have returned from their holidays to enable squad / player photos so either in time for next weekend or it could be delayed till the week of the Palace game.

I was thinking of the strategy this window and it seems to have changed slightly. We’ve gone from signing pure kids to kids who have already had that development at another club.

For example: Chuckwemka two season ago

This season: Joao Pedro and sharp

Completely different. Almost Roman 2004 esque, players who are just about to hit their peak as opposed to having to develop kids.

This is what I wanted them to do in the first place. I would have backed them more if they did. The majority of our signings had under 100 senior appearances at club level, some of them less than 50.

Delap, Gittens, Pedro, Hato, all 4 of them have over 100 senior appearances. Simons and Garnacho will be the same if we sign them too.

Good to see Micky Flanagan still working though

I hope not, after the spate of loss making sales that appear to be happening, we’d probably make a loss on a shirt sponsor too.

My positivity after the CWC win is ebbing away already.

Where have we lost money? I don’t think you understand how the finances work on these sales.

Happy to be educated, but I assumed 30 million on Dewsbury Halll, two years of salary and then sold for 24 million equals a loss. I know when I buy a car and spend years insuring, taxing and fuelling it and then trade it it for less than I paid, to me that’s a loss.

I know we’ve all been critical of the owners/strategy/SD‘S but they have done a great job of selling players and mostly making a profit on them.

Spurs, Villa and United have all massively struggled to sell their players which has restricted their incomings.

Please educate yourself, there are countless quick YT videos that teach it. You can start with learning how amortization works on player fees.

Bought: 30m
Wages: 4m/year (apparently)
Amortisation: 30m/ 5yrs = 6m/year
Book value at sale: 24m

Sold: 25m

Book profit: 25m - 24m = 1m - 4m wages = 3m loss

Confirmed by the media, that has also confirmed his initial price was 30m.

Had him a year in the squad, won trophies, sold him on for a small profit.

What you posted says he was sold for £25m. I'm presuming you aren't daft enough to include future add-ons. Here is some advice:

It will be included by the end of his contract with Everton. It is a pay me later after a certain time to remain ffp compliant, just accounting suave. If you pay attention to the add ons we put on players you’ll notice the trend.

Hint: £400k profit.

It’s a FFP/PSR ‘Profit’ but a real world loss. Money in/Money out we’re ‘down’ but according to the book we’re ‘up’

Think taking a car on finance with a balloon payment and then the dealer offers you more than that at the end.

Something for the anoraks to circle jerk over their annual accounts for and the rest of the world to just shake its head at.
