BlueCo buy Chelsea FC

💭 perhaps the heavy rotation isn’t due to injuries or the UC manager. Maybe it’s one big marketing ploy to put these players bought to make money for Blueco and no other reason in the shop window on TV as much as possible. Last year the conf league group was ideal and we saw it. The team unraveled after we got into KOs a bit. This year it’s heavy rotation every match. January window in just over 2 months.

You might be on to something. They clearly want to make sure all these assets are in the shop window. I full expect to see continued rotation and it will definitely guarantee that we are inconsistent.

For about at least the next 7 years or so I don't expect to see a settled squad with only a maximum turnover of 4-5 (total of coming and going), with a large core of players having been at the club for at least 3 seasons. Can't decide to call it revolving doors or a pigeon coop. Anyway, perennial unrest.

“ Chelsea are in advanced talks for front-of-shirt sponsorship. It is understood the Blues could agree a long-term deal that would see them earn between £40-45m per year for this season and the years ahead.”

🤡.. they were never getting £60m

Penny's finally dropped LOL

Let's hope they get on a roll and realise they need a better manager too !

They did a great con job on Roman, thanks to the uk government. I mean they told him , and committed to, that they would spend over a billion on the club. I reckon Roman just assumed such spending would be to build a winning side first and foremost.

If it was another club I would admire what they have done, the deception.

Interesting viewer poll on ChelseaFanTV channel....

Had to be the owners really, but they are in a position where they can fix things, the sporting directors and manager aren't. The two clowns have made way too many mistakes and Maresca just isn't cut out to take these players to the next level.

PMSL

This was so obvious. Glad we missed out on years of sponsorship to then agree a deal in line with what we signed half a decade ago.

"Chelsea was "not terribly well managed on the football, sporting or promotional side" under Roman Abramovich"

LOL

Should be made into a T-Shirt and sold outside Stamford Bridge !

Be hilarious if 20,000 Chelsea fans were all wearing it at a home game ...

More empire-building behind the scenes.

A right circle jerk of "delight" LOL

When you have to keep ramming the word "talented" down people's throats, pretty much certain that there is very little of it in actual practice ...

Good luck Dave anyway LOL.

Should be a pretty easy group to blaze a trail in !

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Fallows' "claim to fame" as head of recruitment at Liverpool was the bold strategy of unsettling and targeting Chelsea academy players (eg Ngumoha)

As long as he had nothing to do with Wirtz, Kerkez and Isak !

Not sure how much involvement he had in 'critical' transfers for the first team, that seemed to be Michael Edwards' role. Liverpool's former Director of Research (data analyst) Ian Graham has been hitting the podcast circuit lately, and from those interviews it seems that Fallows' role might have been more with long-term squad planning.

"World" Champions. 🤣🤣

Squad size looks comparable to us too.

Isn't the "world" bit something to do with a company that sponsors it, or something like that?

I thought that until I just googled it. It's actually a myth!

It is called the world series because when it started they felt the winners would be the best in the world.

To be fair, it's almost certainly true. So it's a bit silly for anyone to be wound up by it.

Congrats to Super Todd for another title under his ownership.

Some player is Ohtani though ‘the Caicedo of the MLB’

As it stands he should go down as baseball's Maradona or Pele. Truly exceptional player.

The way the Dodgers are run vs the way Chelsea is run makes me wonder if Boehly's group just has no say or no power within BlueCo.

Is anybody wound up?
