How do people feel about this? It sounds quite sh*t until the crowd join in but then is every goal celebration going to end up as the same generic bo**ocks?

Tinpot.

Won’t be long til they’re pumping ‘crowd noise’ through the speakers during the game.

We’re just falling further and further into the manufactured atmosphere of most American sports.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the NFL, it’s a fantastic spectator sport with all the extras that come with it. They do sport totally differently over there, it is all about the experience; the tailgating etc. We don’t, football has never and will never be like that in this country. Hell we don’t even do Tifo’s like the continent does.

It’s just, once again, one of the huge differences between how we consume sports and how our former colony does.

I said this after hearing it when we scored the own goal against Benfica "Yeah, what the hell was that? Only sh*tty provincial town teams in the football league do that. What’s next, some teenagers with a drum?"

But I guess we shouldn't be surprised by anything that happens now at CFC LDN (formerly Chelsea Football Club).

Didn't know where else to post this...I hope this isn't the start . I can't see how it DOESN'T set a precedent. I wonder what the fans of those clubs think about this ??

"Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin says the "regrettable" decision to allow two European league matches to be played abroad is "exceptional" and insists it "will not set a precedent".

La Liga clubs Villarreal and Barcelona are now set to face each other in Miami in December in what would be the first European league fixture to be played abroad.

Then in February, AC Milan's Italian Serie A match against Como will be played in Perth, Australia.

Uefa, European football's governing body, has stressed its "clear opposition" to the plans, but "reluctantly" approved them because there is no legal framework to stop it.'

It wouldn't surprise me if Chelsea and other PL teams played a league game overseas and at the same time season ticket prices will be as for 19 rather than 18 home league games. I'm a cynical old git.

From what I read when the Barcelona v Villarreal game was first proposed to be played in the US, Villarreal’s president offered to pay the travel and ticket to the ST holders that want to go, and deduct 20% of the ST to those that choose not to travel.

Still, I find it disrespectful of their home fans that European teams go play to another country a home league game. In this case, it was led by Barcelona, and we know that they need all the money they can get.

👍 Can't see the expat Boks turning up. A kick around in Lygon Street might draw a crowd.

Kieran Maguire on Chelsea's FOS holdup:

🗣"The price that Chelsea have been quoting to sponsors has been one where that everybody else has walked out the door. It’s a case of just getting that deal to get both parties. Chelsea fervently believe that having won the Premier League in 2016 and therefore becoming the world champions in 2025 that the value of the club is significantly higher than what would appear to be the case from an advertiser’s perspective."

A Mess..

I expect BlueCo will be in for a rude shock when they try and sell the club as well ...

But we were told that after winning the CWC a record breaking FOS sponsor was just a formality. Surely we weren't lied to AGAIN?!

Weird how there aren't loads of people queuing up to spend billions on money pits.

Why can't they just take the best deal they can get now for two or three years and then try and win some more stuff and then maybe get a better deal then? I really can't get my head around earning nothing whilst waiting for something you can't get. I might tell my wife I quit work as they aren't paying me as much as I'd like and I'm just going to sit at home watching TV until someone offers me offers me as much as I think I'm worth. I'm sure she'll see the logic in that and support me.

I didn't know until just now that the Spanish "Super Cup" ( winners and runners up of the league and cup.. 4 teams knockout format) has been played in Saudi Arabia for a few years now. In January I think ?

I can see the Charity Shield maybe one day ??

Oh and Chelsea Dagger can get f**ked too.

One of the things the owners highlighted when they arrived was that Chelsea were underperforming in different areas .the " ," commercial " side for example !

So the latest club led media dump by Kaveh last night goes as follows:

  • Chelsea have NO current plans to sign a goalkeeper or centre back in January. They will also not be signing a goalkeeper next summer. Chelsea have three goalkeepers - Sanchez, Jorgensen and Penders.

  • Chelsea were offered the chance to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan in the summer but decided not to pay the asking price because they had faith in Sanchez, Jorgensen and Penders.

  • Chelsea also have enough options at centre back and that is why they are unlikely to sign any players in that position in January. Chelsea have two centre backs out on loan who are expected to return next summer - Sarr and Anselmino.

  • Chelsea are working to find clubs for Sterling and Disasi in January.

  • Tyrique George is likely to leave in January.

  • Marc Guiu will be staying at Chelsea for the whole season after his loan to Sunderland was cancelled at the end of the window.

Fine with the GK situation, Sanchez as a shot stopper is fine, he’s just dodgy when he has to engage his brain and Penders is clearly the future. Never once been impressed by Maignan.

Fine with the CB situation, whatever gets Josh more minutes at this stage + once Levi’s back you’ll have a ‘need to sell’ anyway in that position.

They’ve been working to find clubs for them pair for 2 seasons now don’t see any change there.

George can go, he tries but he’s not got it (He’s also better than Gittens but that’s a different story)

Positive, don’t want to see JP starting as a 9 ever again. Delap (once he’s back) + Guiu is serviceable.

Good to see they are traditionalists then....

To sum it up, Winstanley and Stewart out! Made me sick watching Winstanley and Eghbali laughing together in the stands the other day. Eghbali should be giving him daggers for the mess he has made.

Your point?

Selling players - in some cases absolutely necessary in order to right the wrong of them having been bought for a fortune, then turning out to be a waste of space - does not prove the club is not in a mess.

BREAKING NEWS: Club that has stockpiled players has more players to sell.

I guess the fines, transfer restrictions and huge negative net spend are all good things.

As Eghbali said the goal is to run Brighton strategy.

I may dislike it but this is the reality of our owner and this is what we have done in the last two seasons. From the board pov, our sd has done brilliant job.

Yes, that is correct. Again, I don’t like that one bit, but money talks. Also, In the “Supercup” Real Madrid and Barcelona (when they play it) get more money than the other two teams, for example last year Athletic Club Bilbao and Atlético de Madrid, if I remember correctly, got paid much less money from the Saudis.
