Digressing but my old football manager once pissed into the oppositions kit bag

To be fair back in your day he’d probably been in the pub all night/morning and been smashing pints during the match, must have been gagging for a piss

But it's perfectly ok to slag him off on a forum ?. Maybe if you had travelled to another country on Sunday mothers day as well and spent some of your wages and had to watch terrible football with our two best players on the bench you'd be pissed off as well. I've booed countless Chelsea teams in the past it's what football fans do.

I'd just be chuffed to evade Mothers Day :blush2:

His posting history reads like a distillation of all the worst elements of this forum. Get rid of a few more like this and it'll almost make up for losing YB.

Almost...but not quite...:empathy:

The joys of Sunday football. Players turning up smashed straight from clubbing. One fella used to neck half a bottle of Venos cough mixture before kick off- something to do with Benzedrine.

The biggest change from boys football to men's football is when the half time oranges became half time cigarettes!

We had goalkeeper that used to chain smoke during games. I do miss Sunday football.

I dont reckon there’s many parks in South London I haven’t played on. The weirdest/ most shocking thing witnessed has got to be a player getting sent off on Mitcham Common, next thing he’s got his car on the pitch trying to run the ref over.

Another bloke received a life ban for trying to force the ref to eat his own book after he’d been sent off.

Difficult to imagine that stuff happening in the Premiership.

Still out for me honestly dont think he is the right guy to manage our younger players, he seems to be coming out with a lot of comments recently, saying RLC is a complete midfielder, CHO is ready to play first team football, special praise for Christensen, all of this is very positive but seems very strange to me after being so stubborn all season

I like to think the manager has real authority but I'm starting to think the last game somebody had a quiet word in his ear about team selection, particularly as the programme had CHO on the front page.

Lol. I remember one of our games getting called off in a US Sunday league because a player went to his car to get a gun after being upset with a red card

I miss Sunday & Saturday football but I used to Hate playing at Mitcham Common. Pitches not great - usually really windy - the sort of football I played deserved better pitches!!

Who would have been a ref in those conditions? Used to regularly see refs threatened and abused. Morden & District League wasn't too bad but when I played in Southern Area Sunday League it was a lot more aggro and some of the refs were shocking, but still didn't deserve the threats!!

Figges Marsh Tooting also terrible pitches, plus Clapham Common.

Always seemed to be permanently windy on Purley Way, which can’t have been far off Hackney Marshes in terms of the number of pitches.

Shuvel job to remove dog sh*t prior to playing on any of these.

Sarri OUT/Super Frankie Lampard IN?

Although he lacks the experience of managing a massive club he couldn't do any worse than Sarri plus he loves the club and would be well respected by the players.

Only played at Figges Marsh 3 tim,es and we never lost and I scored a couple so always recall it favourably!

But Purley Way - yeah, massive - again thankfully didn't play there that often.

The worst memory is playing at pitches where you had to put up and take down the nets. Not great on a freezing wet day and some comedian thinking it funny to carry on shooting at the goal whilst you're doing it. All part of team bonging though - not sure it worked! That's why I preferred Saturday football as it was much better facilities and standard and you sometimes even got a meal after the game and cheap beer. BUT couldn't then watch the blues so knocked Saturdays on the head and roughed it Sunday mornings.

The trick was to stay in the changing room longer than every else so you could avoid putting the nets up!

Ah, you were one of THOSE were you!! And the ones who always gave it "sorry lads, can't hang around to take the nets down as it's my mum's birthday.............AGAIN"!

Rule had to be, you don't help with the nets - you don't play, unless you were Maradona-like, and although we all thought we were, we weren't!!

I was a keeper. My logic was it was duty enough to protect the nets!
