And you believe we lost because of him? Penalties happen and we had very few this season,  it was rather unfortunate after being already one behind. Sure there is blame on Alonso but only because of him?
If we can´t even score one goal how should we win games.

No, I don't fully put the blame on him, but he was once again the worst player on the pitch for us today. He was awful. There was nothing unfortunate about that penalty. It was Alonso being too slow in every aspect of his game today.

Yep, he changed it vs City and Tottenham, and since going back to his original plan, we have been sh*t. You're right, we shouldn't need special tactics against Everton, but there was nothing special about those tactics he used against City and Tottenham, it was called playing to the players strengths. The system only looked like it was working in the first half today because Everton played so badly. As soon as they upped the tempo, we struggled and never got back into the game.

Sarri can't get his system to work in this league. He is trying to get us to play like Napoli, and that won't work in the Premier League. Even if Sarri had that same Napoli side, he would still struggle, because you cannot play the same way in this league. The tempo is on a totally different level in England compared to Italy.

I agree about the tempo but Liverpool play a similar type of pressing football that Sarri wants but it works because they have the right players, we clearly don’t, he was brought into bring high temp possession based football that’s what he is doing, it can certainly be adapted but it takes time, look at Klopp and pep in their first season if anything we are at least that good, isn’t it better to give this approach  time and back the manager instead of just sacking one after the other and having no stability? Once hazard Is gone and transfer ban on, we are f**ked, we can’t do the whole new manager couple of new players thing, we need a football philosophy

Heard before game we have hit the woodwork 23 times in the league, 3 went in, 20 went safe. Now its 24 times 21 went safe after Eden hit the post but again it goes safe.

Then why did he bring in Jorginho and Higuain? I can hardly think of two players less suited to that type of football in this league. And those two are his main men that the manager really, really wanted.

That's absolutely absurd

How's this for absurd ?

In PL games where we have scored 2+ goals, we are played 17 won 16 drawn 1 lost 0 scored 45 conceded 11.

In PL games where we have scored 1 or zero goals, we are played 13 won 1 drawn 5 lost 7 scored 5 conceded 22.

Scoring goals is our biggest problem ... he simply has to select the players for league games that can make a difference to that.

People are freaking out but details like this, that could have gone our way would see us up there competing, rarely have we been outplayed most games we lost we were in control of

Then we've got two of our top goal scorers in CHO and RLC who rarely even start in the Premier League

Higuain especially.  Looks so labored and his finishing has been poor to top it all off.  I actually thought Jorginho was one of our best today.  Should have had an assist (see above regarding Higuain), and thought he was solid in everything else.

Yep ... ?

The solution seems obvious to me, but then I'm not a highly paid football coach ...

I agree about sticking by the manager and that we need a football philosophy, but it has to be the right coach and the right football. I'm not convinced Sarri is the right coach or that his football will ever be good enough. Klopp's tactics are very different to Sarri's. I'm sure you are right that Sarri wants us pressing like Liverpool do, but it's the times when we don't need to press where we look poor. Liverpool don't mess around in attack, they are direct and quick, we are the opposite. We try and score with slow possession based football, it's not working and it's incredibly boring to watch., this is all on Sarri. These are his tactics.

Being in control is leading by a couple of goals and looking comfortable. Suggesting we have been "in control" simply because we have had possession and created a chance every now and then is simply flawed.

I agree with what your saying and I’m backing the manager as a point of concept not that he is the perfect man for the job, think about your point about Liverpool being direct, our side to side rubbish bad been the same under 3 managers that’s because of hazards stop and start style he doesn’t lend to direct football and he is the man our attack is based round, he is brilliant but wasted on this team, to play like he does you need top class round you and we are a notch below that

Shoulda coulda woulda, but in reality we suck at the moment

we are rubbish in the league - setting the EL aside for the moment - although we are sitting in 6th, 13 points ahead of Wolves, we don't look that much better than them

for once "crisis hit Chelsea" seems just about right - there's so much not working it's hard to know where to begin and the transfer ban will just make it worse

Spot on mate. Totally agree

You’re talking about subs in your post not starting players, my point is your moaning about him swapping kova for Barkley and William for Pedro when that wasn’t what he did do in like I dont get your point

My point is that's how we'll start next game.

Maurizio Sarri has arrived for his post-match press conference. He says that the first half was probably one of the best performances of the season. But the second half started badly and it is difficult to explain the change.

Yes we missed chances, Higuain the biggest miss, but we have no luck. Eden hits post, ball goes safe.  Kepa saves but it falls nicely for Richarlison to score.  Kepa saves penalty, ball drops nicely for Sigurdson to tap in.

He was as poor as everyone else was other than that opening portion. People really need to stop making excuses for him. This isn’t based on him not scoring either his delivery and decision making were awful.

Think you're confusing him with Pedro. Now he WAS awful. Hazard just wan't his outstanding self today but still a millions miles better than Pedro.

I'm not convinced by the stat of us hitting the posts so many times, I think that is desperation as we are not creating enough good chances.

It was on Sky.
