Reece James

I assumed he was talking about the media, which is a point I agreed with. I didn't know until just now it was James who released them himself, I thought it was again trolls on Twitter judging by the responses on here saying it's trolls with fake avatars on twitter.

Just put yourself in Reeces shoes mate, must be sh*t being targeted with that sh*t.

You agreed with his post that said he did it for attention, no mention of hate, just that Reece is " inadvertently making things worse"

Well I said the person was racially abusing Reece. Do I need to then explicitly say it was hate? That's implied surely?

James reposting it, absolutely what he should do. 100%. James should do whatever he wants. Hes a victim, there is no rulebook he has to follow.

However one side effect of that unfortunately is that the person who committed a hate crime against him, will be happy that he's got the attention. That's just the truth of the matter and what Argo was referring to.

My solution is that social media don't allow people to message someone unless they are being followed by that person.

are you really for real ? that moron will be sh*tting himself right now, waiting for a knock on the door, not gloating on his attention, get away from the attention excuse, its HATE, he has HATE in him and wants to hurt !!!

Absolutely, and again, I didn't once blame James for anything. If Argo truly meant that, then I completely disagree with him.

Like I said, I thought he was talking about the media. I made a similar point last time about Abraham when he was getting racist abuse because he missed a penalty. Not his fault, it's the fault of anonymous trolls who get to say what they want with no repercussions.

Mate he's clearly not from the UK. He's not getting a knock on the door.

Yes he has hate. He's mentally disturbed. He's an awful person.

But he ain't going to be found.

Right i want to set a few record straight.

@coco I apologise for snapping the way I did, but in the heat of the moment after reading that my mind went on overdrive to think you were implying I was condoning racism, I should have took time to realise that's not the case and for that I apologise. I've been discriminated against myself for reasons that are too personal to go over on an internet forum but I'll NEVER put another person through that.

Also I aswell thought it was a tweet and not a personal message to Reece and I should have known that and for that I apologise aswell, I also thought it was the media that flagged it up not RJ himself, again I should have known the facts before commenting and for that I can only take full responsibility and apologize. My whole point of my initial post is that i was worried these sickos will get more incentive to do something like this if they know that they can get attention for their behaviour pretty easily, I am worried we are given these c**ts a platform because that's what people like that want, they're not the way they are because they want to be liked.

Thank you to @bisright1 and @Slojo for defending me when I couldn't defend myself and help nip this in the bud before any stigma set.

Thank you to @Mod Stark for sorting this out and giving me a chance to defend myself.

I'm going to take a break from this place for a while as I feel I need it, hopefully see you all soon.

If he's in the UK he can get found, if he's outside of it, it's difficult.

I remember when Jamie Vardy posted those messages his wife received, I won't say what they were becuase they were too sick to talk about. But it turned out it was some kid in India and nothing could be done about it, if he was in the UK he would've gotten f**ked even at that age.

I'll apologise for misreading your intentions too, that's on me.

The guy that sent the hateful message to Reece was writing in broken english and had an arabic name. I'm assuming he's not from Hackney. Which is why I think the chance he's found is 0 and I assume the guy knows that.

I'm going to take a break too from this site. This chat was a bit unnecessarily hostile.

I agree with the solution of not being allowed to message but in all honesty I've no idea why any sportsman would want to be on social media at the moment considering the abuse they all get. I know why the are, maximising exposure etc. But irs a cesspit, when you have a woman who created the clap for the NHS thing having to leave Facebook due to abuse you realise just how messed up a site it is.

No worries mate, I can see why my post could have been misconstrued and that combined with subject in hand I can fully understand how it could have been construed while reading in the heat of the moment.

I think we've all got the wrong end of the stick, that's all.

I didn't actually know what happened, I just assumed, which is wrong but at the same time it was for the same reason coco didn't want anything posted on here, because reading racist garbage isn't nice. I remember reading the abuse Rebecca Vardy got in that same instance and I felt sick to my stomach, so stuff like this I usually avoid because I know the power anonymous users have on Twitter and Facebook, and most likely they'll be using VPN's and whatever else.

I just up'd the storage for messengers, Happy Christmas!

Cheers mate.....

Now to wait for the hidden charges....

I've apologised to Coco in DM's. I now see that he didn't misrepresent me, I compelely misread the situation. I just want to clarify to everyone reading this, I genuinely thought this story was about some tweets on Twitter, I didn't actually know Reece James publicly shared these messages himself that he got. In no way shape or form do I blame him or think this was his fault, if I had known that I would never have even gave him an inkling of blame.

Obviously this looks bad on me because I'm pretty Conservative with my political views, I just hope those who disagree with me can at least give me the benefit of the doubt on this one. I would never try to trivialise Reece James getting racial abuse, my take was purely and only aimed at the media that have ill intentions on any matter, good or bad.

Glad to see this was all resolved anyway.

So what are the social media giants going to do about this?

Deactivate the account? That all? When will the authorities punish the platforms for letting this go on?

I find it funny (well, not really funny actually) that Parler, another social media webiste, was pretty much deplatformed for "egregious content" but sites like Twitter and Facebook get away with it even when they have proven to be far worse and far more damaging to society. I hate both Twitter and Facebook, they are hateful places where the negatives far outweigh the positives. If they were to both disappear now, the world would be much better off.

The media has given prominent coverage to Marcus Rashford getting racial absue online (Lineker mentioned it on MotD), but I've not seen any mention of the Reece James incident. I appreciate Rashford has a massively greater profile than Reece, but they are both England internationals, and I'd have thought it was a big story.

Probably just as well, as the media would no doubt have insinuated that it was a Chelsea fan who abused Reece while making no such insinuation with regard to ManU fans.
