City and Pool must take steroids or something. Every team in the league can spend millions on sports science but somehow only they consistently have 90% energy left at 90 mins.

Yeah, I noticed it too the last couple of seasons. Especially with Liverpool and their thin squad and almost to none major injuries they are at 6 gear the whole 90 minutes.

They will probably run away with the title again but if they finish on a 90+ point season for a third year in a row with COVID schedule and so little depth, it will raise some questions for me.

I think they just press more intelligently than other teams.  From watching them a few times, I see they're more successful in dispossessing others compared to other teams.  I am sure it has been drilled into them to be efficient in their pressing and it shows in their game.  Also, if you're comfortably leading the game (as they do so often), you can probably take it a bit easy at some parts and just keep the ball and hence have more energy towards the end.

For reference, here are some stats for about running distances in the league last season. Liverpool are 7th in the "Total Distance Covered" metric, lower than Chelsea  (Man City are 14th!).

It's so depressing watching them being so far ahead of us.

It's something eyebrow raising. Liverpool have failed to win the title for years because when they played the same style of football they've been playing for the last year or so, they've been dead by Xmas and their form dropped off a cliff. Suddenly they're able to play like this a whole season without injuries despite barely any rotation. Get zero break, come back at exactly the same speed...

Why have they suddenly been able to get rid of the post Xmas burnout, despite not seeming to change anything about how they play?

Their form did drop off after Christmas, but they were miles ahead by then. They lost 5 of their last 14 games, I think.

They played with phenomenal energy last night, but they had a relatively easy 45 mins against us when they didn't play at full pelt, and they rested lots of players in the League Cup. Klopp has learned how to pace his players. It helps when refs allow them to continue with 11 when they could reduce them to 10 after 2 minutes.

Lets see if they can win back to back.

Notice Mane was unhappy to come off last night and was debating with Klopp who after one sentence put his arm around Mane pulling him close as if to say, 'that is enough'.

I wish we could challenge them but our squad needs more time...

Yes I agree on more time and he needs also to get the midfield balanced.

Think it will be another season before we can mount a challenge and that will require further personnel for me.

Man City signed another defender, Ruben Dias from Benfica.

I think I posted about him in the past as our potential new CB idea or something...sad story.

Pep keeps spending, not satisfied with Ake it seems lol I can almost guarantee that he will end up singing a new striker in January or next summer.

Carlo is doing good things with Everton. Look like a half decent team.

Yes at this moment they might turn us over.

Noticed Rice run at them from the LCB position, past two and crossed wide from the Left, it didn't beat the keeper though one of the Everton players that tried to stop him went off injured.

Anyone watching the Liverpool C team v Arsenal C team? Blimey, they care little about this competition (and I absolutely get it, I think it should Have been scrapped given the congestion of matches this season).

Everton are a serious threat for top 4 this season. They were showing signs of improvement with Ancelotti last season, but the signing of James Rodriguez has taken them to another level. Calvert-Lewin is also getting better and better.

If Everton keep everyone fit they will challenge for top 4

With no European football also full focus on PL

However they do have Pickford in goal
