September 22, 20205 yr Author Enlightening in non-techy terms @moi Imagine part exchanging your car for a slightly newer model. It costs a bit more than it used to, so @Scott and generous other folk club together to help out. The new car is the same as the other, but you have more functions on the dashboard, the steering wheel feels a bit more comfortable, the gear stick is smoother. The colour is slightly brighter so it feels fresh. You don't know the performance of it until you take it for a fast test drive (normally on a match day). Dark mode is having the same car but totally black. This one you keep in the garage and only use it when those that prefer it want to ride in it. Don't ask me to ellaborate, I need a lay down now.

September 22, 20205 yr I like the speed improvement threads loads so much faster now on the mobile browser.
September 23, 20205 yr Also, THANKS for sticking to IPS. Everybody seems to be migrating to Xenforo and their themes and add-ons are making my head spin, so counter-intuitive.
September 23, 20205 yr Okay, i think i have sorted it now. I have had to change browser. I was using this in IE 11 and it is awful, hardly any frames and couldn't get the reply function to work at all. I will have to use Chrome going fowards as presumably this isn't supported in IE. Edit - Just noticed, no automatic spell checking functionality. That's a shame as that would have been a boon for someone like me!
September 23, 20205 yr Author @WhiteWall Blimey yea, IE11 is way old now and believe this version is the first to stop support for it. I know on one of the last versions, I had to add some code so IE11 would still work on here. The spell checker would’ve been something within your browser and Chrome will definitely have it, but you might have to switch it on/select language in the settings.

We briefly used phpBB to continue from the old CSR forum, but switched to Invision where it’s been pretty much from the start.
September 23, 20205 yr Sometimes I get a download for f.txt whilst browsing on PC using Firefox, just to let you know.
September 23, 20205 yr Author @sonic90 Looking into that, its safe though so just close it, only happened a few times this end.
September 23, 20205 yr I much prefer it tbh, good idea. You can also see profile pictures more clearer.
September 23, 20205 yr Registering to the site with Twitter did not work yesterday. No biggie as it is easy to register to the site anyway. I thought I would bring it up in case it got broken with this update and people may want to join with their Twitter accounts.
September 24, 20205 yr I normally hate software updates ... facebook, eBay and so on ... but this one looks fantastic, is very intuitive, and is actually change for the better, rather than just change for the sake of it. WELL DONE to everyone involved. Just one potential bug I noticed ... the multi-quote function didn't seem to work when I tried to use it ?

Seems okay buddy, might have to close that Ad if it gets in the way of it.

Ah good - that now seems OK ... the Ads weren't in the way of the button, but the button wasn't working with the Ads showing. I was clicking on it and nothing was happening. When I close the Ads, hey presto clicking the button now moves both the quotes into my reply window. Not sure what was going on there, but it worked :) Cheers !

September 25, 20205 yr Seriously though @Mod Stark - it looks good, very slick. One thing I have noticed is that quite often the pop-up ad at the bottom and the one under the 'recently browsing' banner are the same - does that affect forum income at all? I have to admit I have no idea how ad income works. Edited September 25, 20205 yr by PloKoon13

For some new 'stickies' I've just switched my VPN connection to the UK, and have been rewarded by an advert Stop Dog Urine Stains Now. So it really pays off
