I watched him play in Ligue 1, he was horrific. And yet when Klopp needs a goal in a big game he usually turns to Origi. Hard one to judge TBH Bordeaux because he never gets a consistent run of games. The quality of strikers in front of him at Liverpool obviously limit his chances, but for me whenever he comes on he always seems to be involved and makes things happen. He looks like a finisher to me. Werner absolutely doesn't. Edited November 7, 20214 yr by just

Funny how our mutual dislike of Liverpool means we overlook the fact that West ham winning today has affects our top 4 chances. Last season it was Leicester, this one it appears it is West ham who will be looking to boot us out of the top for. To be 3 points off us is a really impressive start by them.

As far as I can remember he played some games as a winger at Lille, didn't he?

Look what happened v palace, the most in form side they’ve faced since the first three losses. Very fortunate to get a draw…at home. they were bang average today and only won due to a combo of bad refereeing and bad sportsmanship. Edited November 7, 20214 yr by The Brit

November 7, 20214 yr Another plus on today’s result is we don’t have to listen to all the media hype about them being unbeaten this season.

November 7, 20214 yr why do we had to be so wasteful yesterday 😪 CHO, Barkley, Kai had theirs golas on a f**king platter
November 7, 20214 yr I cheered the Spam goals more than my husband did (he's a Spammer!). There were a few Dipper fans in the pub who (jokingly tbf) didn't appreciate it!

He looks like a finisher to me. Werner absolutely doesn't. Origi played a part in 28 PL games in 19/20 and scored in a grand total of 3 of them. He scored in the first game and the last game of the season, and in 1 of 26 appearances in between. He played a part (including starts) in 6 CL games in 19/20 and scored in 0. He played (started) in 3 FA Cup games in 19/20 and scored in 0. In 20/21, he played a part in only 12 PL + CL + FA Cup games (including a few starts) and scored in 0. In 21/22, he has played a part in 5 PL + CL + FA Cup games and scored his first goal yesterday. This is your great finisher? 😉 Just saying that it's useful to use some more information to draw an inference than this one good finish and a vague memory that he scored an important goal in the past. His stats are so bad that even Werner looks like a world class finisher in comparison. And this is not even considering that Werner adds so much more to a team tactically (pressing, movement, pace and assists). Football is frankly far more complex than putting a finisher (who is incapable of anything else) in the team and expecting good team play as Ole is finding out every game.
November 8, 20214 yr Happy for Moyes and Zouma, we have 3 points lead after 11 games it's very satisfactory.. If Moyes was an ex-United player, he'd have manage them for 3 seasons and have more to show than OLE. Conte will improve Spurs, but the 343 is no longer a secret like his first season with us, so he's going to have a tougher time this time around. If Levy doesn't keep his promise of loads of funds in January, could see him gone after the season.
November 8, 20214 yr It would be amusing if Moyes's WHU can finish above Ole's Utd. I think WHU will fall away as the European matches take their toll.

November 8, 20214 yr Author Interesting. Looks like Emenalo may become Newcastle's new Director of Football. Smart decision, my hopes of Newcastle 'pulling a QPR' are fading by the second... https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/nov/08/newcastle-confirm-appointment-of-eddie-howe-as-new-manager
November 8, 20214 yr Thinking more about that Cresswell challenge as seen a lot of shots and commentary. I now think he should have gone, when he makes the initial challenge one leg is on the ground, I'm guessing after the initial challenge he adjusts his boy and lunges in two footed with studs up on Henderson knee. It must take take some clever footwork to pull that off yet a Red for me. When we play WHU we will need to watch those corners Ogbonna waving his hands naturally high in front of the keeper and Antonio leaning in from the rear.

For comparison, do you know how many minutes he has played in total, and full 90 minute games and consecutive games he has played over the past 2 seasons compared to Werner? What is his goals per minutes played ratio over the past 2 seasons compared to Werner? Both fairly relevant pieces of information I think. Personally I think that if Origi gets the same number of chances compared to Werner he will finish more. An opinion. Not a statistic. Edited November 8, 20214 yr by just
