Play the same team as today!

No freaking way. We will make 9 changes with only CHO and Chalobah starting from the Norwich game. We need to rest players and protect from injuries. Barkley as the False 9

                                  Kepa

           Chalobah   Christensen      Sarr

Azpi         Kante        Loftus cheek       Alonso

        Ziyech        Barkley         CHO

Makes me wonder why we loaned in Saul with him not even being able to start in Carabao cup game. Then again Tuchel might start

Their best player cannot play since he is on loan from us.

I agree with @The Don Antonio though, rotation is the order of the day, although you don't waste Kante in the league cup tut tut.

Kepa

Chalobah

Christensen

Sarr

Dave

Barkely

RLC

Saul

Alonso

Havertz

CHO

I like the team besides ziyech not starting and I pray we don't start our only striker available    ( Havertz) in this glorified cup game. You are right about Kante ,we need him fresh to deal with Saint maximan on Saturday

Might be a good chance to play Jude SB or another youth forward.

He is just 17 years old but he should be on the bench along with the Giant Dutch Kid

You mean Mbuyamba? Argument could be made he should start so we could take a look at him. Trev could go in to the middle, Mbuyamba and Sarr on the sides.

That would have been possible if we drew a league 2 team but against a team like Southampton i think it would be smart to have him on the bench.

Cant get excited about the league cup, but if we are not serious about winning it, then better off exiting as soon as possible.

Nah, more games we can offer for development for Chalobah, RLC, Barkley, Sarr, Baker, Saul, CHO etc the better. If we lose we lose but is a tournament for them to get games imo.

Wonder who's going to be the striker or false 9 for this game, doubt Tuchel want to risk Havertz since the other 2 strikers will still be out this weekend. Regardless which teams we play ( still be a strong team), losing it to a second strength Southampton still be disappointing, so may as well go hard and win it

One word. Rotation.

                          Bettinelli

          Chalobah    Sarr     Rudiger

  James        Saul      RLC       Alonso

                   Barkley     Ziyech

                       Soonsup-Bell

I doubt we will see something like this, especially in attack, but if there is time to experiment this is it.

Don't know about you guys but its a cup I want to win. There's no guarantees for the League or the Champions League, so that leaves the possibility of the Carabao or FA CUP being a chance of some silverware this season. Especially when we have more than enough players this year that need solid game time, ie Kepa, Sarr, Barkley, Saul. The more games these guys play the better. Plus im sure its only a few more games until we reach the semi's so its hardly going to hurt us. Go all out and bring another trophy home lads.

If we’re in it we are there to win it. I come from a time when we’d snatch your hand off for a good cup run in either trophy. Had my biggest disappointment as a kid v Stoke and remember the epic ties against Wednesday. We won’t mention Scarborough.
