Badi is our only 2nd best passer from cb by a mile.

Based on what? His appearances in the Conference League? I wouldn't trust him to make passes out of defence in the Premier League because he has slow reactions.

😱😱

Badi is not a new guy. He has played for us in 3 seasons. His line breaking pass is very good.

If Maresca want to play bait bait smash from cb, the only guy who can do this is Badi.

The problem with Badi is he is quite mobile for his size but not mobile enough so you need to surround him with fast guy.

It don't see this happening with Barcelona's kids.

I think this might be because we don't remember the failures.

Marc Muniesa, Sergi Roberto, Cristian Tello, Ansu Fati, Dani Olmo and Riqui Puig were all stars of La Masia that were perma-crocked by their 20s. The latest ACL victim is shiny new Marc Bernal

omg stop it Bob

Looking objectively at what Chelsea defence needs , I'd say ideally we should have bought a proper top class CB to pair him up with Colwill. That would be my first choice CB tandem with Fofana/Chalobah/Tosin as backups.

Now with Colwill out long term it's even more of a must for us to go back into the transfer market. Veiga is not good enough as a CB, Fofana would be great if he could stay fit but that seems highly unlikely. Chalobah and Tosin are good squad options but neither is a top class and shouldn't be expected to be first choice. Anselmino is still a prospect, probably needs to go on loan.

Murillo Murillo Murillo Murillo Murillo

Fofana with healthy legs

I wanted Chelsea to go for Scalvini before this injury and have tosin and Chalobah as excellent backups, now I want it even more. This season Scalvini and Hato/Chalobah and next Scalvini and Colwill. The only thing that concerns me is he’s just had an acl injury season himself

More piffle from you as usual Bob.

Any defender we have, from U15s upwards can stand on the ball, "baiting the press" until anyone comes near them and then pass sideways to the nearest player regardless of whether they are free or not.

For progressive forward passes per minutes played would expect Tosin wnd Colwill to be our best defenders and way ahead of the human ironing board

I also have wanted Murillo for ages but having watched us I think we have pace of recovery during transitions against us, but we look small, especially on set pieces. I think that this will be an area that teams try to exploit this season. Ideally I would like a defender thats 1.90m minimum. Bastoni would be great but maybe too expensive. I like the look of Alex Ribeiro. Two footed, tall, good aerially. Aggressive like Rudiger, but this league isn't full of fools and fodder. Lay hands too heavily on attackers in this league and you'll be made to look like Bakayoko. Still Ribeiro looks good for now, possibly, and maybe even future proofed as the two footedness would make him comfortable in either berth.

This is the problem with stats. Big difference in the smoothing process when it's 35 90's and 16 90's versus 4

In All Comps, Badiashile played 16 90s and has 5.04 progressive passes per 90, comfortably ahead of Colwill and Tosin.

A few posters owe apologies to Bob perhaps LOL

That's a good shout. I'd be on boad with that but Forest would demand a fortune and Marinakis a nightmare to deal with as Spurs found out 😁

He played a total of 5 games in the league last season. Like I said, what are we basing his ability on? it has to be Conference League, because he's looked awful in the Premier League since Potter left.
