His 300k pw deal ends summer 2027. If he wants to stay in London, that’s pretty much that, maybe the Fulham talks resurface again come January, but you have to wonder whether there’s even a point to it, at least Arsenal could afford to cover the wages a little.

Contract is a contract, works two ways. Blame Todd for signing him or the SDs for dumping an expensive asset in the bomb squad.

This is what I don't understand. His wages price him out of a move to all but the very top clubs, who aren't going to be in for him, so why not at least try and have him doing something useful in and around the squad ? Side-lining him completely is just stupid.

It's really hard to operate a training session for 20+ players. Managers like to have as small a group as possible.

Well we've got 27 at the moment, of which 3 are keepers and 5 are in the treatment room.

I'd say there is definitely room for one more senior player, or even two if Disasi doesn't leave as well. It's not good for the youngsters to see experienced senior pros treated like this. It does nothing to build any feelings of loyalty to the club, or any sense of career path or longevity. We are already seeing issues with good academy players not extending contracts and buggering off elsewhere ...

Not saying it will happen but the window in the Saudi League remains open till 10/9 and Turkey 12/9.

From what I can see it’s two left sort out Sterling and Disassi ( have I missed anyone) with Fofana DD seemingly off to Celtic

Has Sterling been treated badly? oh yeah he didnt play well lost his place in the team and failed to regain it. Should he have been picked on reputation? Or kept on in the squad in a mentoring role at 300k a week, really?

I guess it’s to stop the other players from asking for wage increases after seeing what the club is paying 300k for

If it was in the normal workplace, being ostracised like this would be grounds for claiming constructive dismissal, so yes I think he has been treated badly, as have all the bomb squad.

Sterling might be unpopular, and past his peak, and be frustrating to watch, but we have yet to see any subsequent winger selected instead of him who has got anywhere near the G/A he provided, let alone matching or surpassing it, and he was in a much worse Chelsea side too. If he played I think he'd still be our best LW for actual output. Better than Neto ; better than Gittens ; better than Garnacho ; (better than Mudryk LOL).

To be honest, most of our big wage earners have typically disappointed in recent times, so BlueCo's drive to make cuts in this area is one thing they are getting very right in my book.

Are we really suggesting we should reintegrate Sterling and Disasi into the squad, at whose expense? You are allowed to name a PL team of 25 players, the guys out injured would return. Did anyone actually watch Sterling & Disasi last season, and wish we hadn’t loaned them out? The aforementioned 2 have had all summer to find a team but they have both rejected offers.

There is absolutely zero point in having them train on their own. All it does is destroy their value and visibility, as we have seen.

We ought to have enough slots given our squad is so young and under 21s don't count.

I dont think Sterling is unpopular i for one was pleased and excited when he arrived, but i dont think he has contributed enough to retain his place in the team, and nor do the various managers who have worked with him. Hes been given an alternative route on loan at Arsenal and i believe his performances were disappointing there too. He may be better than a whole host of players in your view and or stats, but he hasnt been picked to play on a regular basis by several managers. Stats aside, to me he has looked hesitant and lacking in confidence when he has played in the few occasions in the last couple of years rarely beating his man, shooting when a pass would be better and so on.

I dont think he can operate at a suitable level at Chelsea anymore. Hes done.

Ive not even mentioned his letter demanding clarification of why he wasnt getting a game.

Both should be reintegrated. They may not play that often, but it is surely better than being completely isolated. Both can still do a job.

Personally, I think Tuchel also needs to shoulder part of the blame for Sterling.

We need options up front, Sterling has played false 9 many times, he is still our player, have him replace delap.

Another player that the club have failed to get the best out of.
