Billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe has confirmed his interest in buying Manchester United.

The 70-year-old's chemical firm Ineos announced it had formally lodged interest with the club's current owners, the Glazer family.

"We have formally put ourselves into the process," an Ineos spokesperson said.

Britain's richest man has made no secret of the fact he would be interested in buying the Old Trafford club.

He supported United as a boy and is understood to remain a fan.

Ratcliffe was among bidders for Chelsea when its ownership came up for grabs after the start of Russia's war in Ukraine.

Will be interesting to see what Sir Jim would do with United. Give us an idea of what he would have done with us.

I don’t think he was ever interested in us, hence a public bid in the eleventh hour.. it wasn’t a serious bid. This was most likely the plan all along, make it known he’s in the market. Plus the guy is literally a United fan. Sir Jim is 70 years old, Boehly & Eghbali are 49 & 46 respectively, hopefully we’ve got the sharper minds.

I see they’ve arrested the scooby do lookalike spurs moron and charged him with assault etc.

Quite a few comments online pointing out that his mates who swapped coats and tried sneaking him out should face bans too.

Just wait for it .......... Radcliffe in the media for a few days then comes out and says it's a great club yet too over-valued.'

On Conte and press conferences interesting points though never made them at Chelsea as far as I recall, could it be he is worried about his reputation as he plots his escape from North London.

Utd in the title race…given I have to choose cos chelsea have been crap, think they’re my first choice option to win it, followed by city and then Newcastle….certainly couldn’t stomach the Arse fans, who wanted arteta sacked just eight months ago.

Crazy how the top 3 teams from last season have dropped off so much. City not so much compared to us and Liverpool, but still nowhere near the levels they were at last season. It feels mostly self inflicted from all 3 teams as well.

While the level of Chelsea’s drop is bad, they have more justification for it than Liverpool given all the upheaval. Liverpool’s only argument seems to be the amount of games they played last season catching up with them…chelsea played the same amount, but obviously had going through sanctions, change of owner, coach, lots of staff and players too.

There is an argument casemiro’s challenge that got a yellow tonight was worse than Joao felix’s v Fulham. Only got a yellow.

Which sadly means he is suspend vs Arsenal...

Casemiro's booking means he is ruled out against City.

From our perspective not important yet Ten Hag wants to move into second place.

I guess Olise not celebrating is hopeful of a move to the Red Devils, not that I have heard of anything.

I imagine we would lose more without T.Silva, Man City's backline is pretty questionable when you remove Dias and Laporte.

Think this season can’t get any worse? I actually want sp*rs to win tomorrow. Sometimes I hate this sport.

You’re winning the wrong game you pricks…
