I'd agree that they are in pole position right now after their almost perfect record first half of the season. Normally at the end of January you would be quite confident with a potential 8 point lead. But because of the World Cup we are still only half way through the season. There is still a lot of football to be played. At the moment I think they will take some stopping, especially being that they don't have Champions League football to distract. But if Man City go on a run they could eat away at that lead. Certainly after this week's results it is between those 2 teams.

They have Europa though, which you'd imagine they may want to challenge for. But maybe they'll put in less effort in the EL and focus on PL. They didn't look that good against PSV and there are other good teams in the EL.

They are but I can see them treating that with less importance now that they have a lead in the league to protect. City on the other hand are desperate to win Champs League.

The dark horses for the CL have to be Napoli and Benfica. Both look very good. Then you have the main favourites Bayern, PSG etc.

@Liam What is going on with Roy Mental and that 'tache? He has always been angry and barking mad but now he looks like a Mexican sex-pest serial killer.

I won't hear word against our Roy. As I'm sure I've pointed out before if he had played for Chels he'd be in your all-time top 5.

I don't see why so many people are upset about it. I'm sick of City winning it all the time.

City winning it means nothing because its a pretty soulless club. Unlimited funds and not very vocal fans so its kind of expected without it being in your face.

The issues when Liverpool won it and if Arsenal win it is they'll bang on about how amazing they are for the next 12 months and how they won the league without having to buy it etc. Unbearable set of fans and nothing would bring me greater joy than seeing both of them suffer in midtable mediocrity like they have for the past couple of decades with nothing more than an occasional FA cup to show for it.

City winning the league is nothing more than saving us from one of the unbearable bunch getting their hands on it.

You say that, and I really didn't want Liverpool to win the league the other year, but I haven't heard that much about it since then. In fact, if you stick to just Chelsea news, you don't hear much from anyone else. It's quite nice.

Sacked today from Everton.

I love Frank but maybe he should start from a lower league....

I think he should hold his hands up and admit management isn't for him like Neville did.

There was some promise at Derby and his first season here but unfortunately instead of the promise outweighing the green aspects of his management the total opposite has happened.

A few seasons too late, but Everton deserve to go down just for the simple fact they payed silly money for Iwobi and helped Arsenal get rid of him.

A League One player at best, a charlatan who has tricked everybody in thinking he is good enough for top fier football. He will surely go down as one of the worst attacking players to have ever played in this league.

I think it was more down to the fact lockdown and crowds being taken out of the equation put a dampner on things for them, it almost feels like it didn't count in many ways. I didn't really feel anything when it happened and i was dreading them doing it for years.

Their last home game that year was against us, it would have been f**king awful if we had to go there with a big crowd (both inside the ground and out) celebrating.

I think that is harsh. He's not exactly old and it's not like his managerial career has been a flop. I have seen many coaches do a much worse job of their career and still land many jobs after.

Still half a season to go and Arsenal have yet to suffer any major setbacks as far as injuries.  We will see how the 2nd half pans out but I would expect the top 4-6 positions not looking like they do now..and I still think City will beat Arsenal to the title and I don't see either Brighton and Newcastle ending up in the top 4.

Arsenal has already suffered major injury, their best striker is out with a knee surgery since WC, yet it doesn’t seem that have any influence on their play or should I say winning.

watching City this season they’ve not been their usual. I think most of their ‘peoblems’ come from selling Jesus and Zinchenko, not so much Sterling, but the main issue is Haland - a profilic striker who is so out of usual Pepp way of football. he’s banging goals left right and center but yet City looks ‘worse’ than ever.

I think Newcastle will finish in CL spot, so far they’ve lost only one, same as Arsenal. spuds are sh*t, same as scouse, meanwhile we need 11 points to be safe

Everton should have gone down in 1994 . Stayed up because of a win in their last game , the Wimbledon keeper took a bribe to fix the game.

Top level management isn’t for him or Gerard I believe even though he did well at Rangers.

Dislike him all you like but Arteta time as an assistant studying Pep was key to his success maybe Lampard needed that rather thinking he could jump directly into top level management.
