July 5, 20224 yr Bayern really are something. They don't want to go into a bidding war so they are trying to pressure the player for a move for them.
July 5, 20224 yr Sounds like they're using the same tactics as Barcelona. These so called non-English 'elites' really are insufferable.
July 5, 20224 yr Author Tapping up use to get you into serious doo doo We know that more than most and yet here, Clear as day, Written down on twitter we have hard evidence its taking place and not so much as a silent fart about it The transfer team must be fuuming
July 5, 20224 yr Romano has a podcast out later today going into detail about the situation. He mentions domino effect, which tbh is making me worried.
July 5, 20224 yr This should give us the kick up the bum to get the deal sorted asap, either he agrees to come or we go get Koundé. Provided we keep dialogue open with Jules and act like we always intended to sign him too I don't see an issue if Bayern do snipe MDL from us provided Kounde doesn't prefer Barca suddenly.

Fabrizio Romano Podcast Summary: - De Ligt still has intentions to leave the club. Bayern wanted De Ligt for years. Chelsea are still in pole position considering their bid, and they are now proposing a new bid given light of Bayern's interest. - Lenglet will join Spurs on a loan deal. - Kounde is a priority for Barcelona (in Chelsea's list, but De Ligt priority). - Ake (Chelsea still speaking with Man City for him and Sterling)

So if we want him then just put down the extra 5mill and get the deal done.

July 5, 20224 yr This is looking more and more like the Raphinha situation. Once again our competition seems less inclined to meet the asking price from the selling club, but they managed to make a deal with the player months ago. Question is whether De Ligt will consider joining us if we have the only bid accepted by Juve, or whether he will hold out and wait for Bayern? If he seems to be taking the second choice we should move on to other targets. Skriniar is still being linked to us for example.

July 5, 20224 yr Romano is still saying he wants us, atm the rumours on this are all over the place and chaotic, missing out on him would be a catastrophic blow and it will take a lot of mental gymnastics in the aftermath to convince ourselves otherwise. Just gotta wait and hope now, it’s mainly the less credible sources causing a stir.
